I think perhaps, that this is the best painting that I have seen Ariah paint. Thank you, Michael.
It honestly bout made me want to cry lol I was that moved by what he saw there. But Mike's last 10 minutes were what makes his paintings a Chamberlain painting, he always closes the deal with fantastic final thoughts! And always winds up with something beautiful. Love when they paint together! 🎨 2 killer paintings in 1 video!

Both works are excellent pieces where the essence has been captured, and that beautifully so. Perhaps in the studio the final 'makeup ' would be all that's needed. Thank you both!
Both paintings look great. Each one unique in its way. In yours I really like the translucency of the water in the foreground and the haze over the distant treeline. Ariahs painting has a bit more harmony in the colours and his tree looks great. Good job both of you 👍

Love both your guys work! This spring is so beautiful. What a lovely opportunity to capture a full Malibu creek and green mountains. “So much green” I really liked the idea of translating some green mountains to purple to keep them back and create separation. Well done!

that's such an important idea that Michael had, sometimes you just need to convey a little distance. and those greens are very difficult
“Just ten more minutes“ classic. When I’ve done one hour timed sessions I set my alarm for fifteen minutes as a way to prompt me to get a move on. Great video Michael

Arias painting had a watercolor effect to it. Cobalt is a weird blue to work with imo.

I agree! Perhaps because he’s left some white space which I think is really effective. His colours were very harmonious. A beautiful painting I thought.
Thank you so much. Michael has recently itroduced me to watercolor so that makes sense! Cobalt is very neat. I've found that it not only makes a very acidic spring green when mixed with Cad yellow light or Hansa yellow light.
It also makes an absolutely stunning purple when mixed with Alizarin Crimson.
@@ariahmyles thanks for mentioning the mixing aspect of cobalt. I’ve recently used it in skin tones when mixed for a grey ish effect . I’ll try your mixing suggestions. Keep on painting!

Alright, I used to live in San Bruno too on Crystal Springs rd but didn't start Plein air painting seriously until moved to NC. Wish I could paint with everyone at the beach.

I've started painting but there's a lot to learn. I take it you had something to dry the oil quicker. I think you showed it at the start.

Yes, I use Liquin when painting outdoors. It speeds drying time but the paint stays wet throughout the painting process unless it’s an unusually warm day.

That’s amazing, thanks for sharing your art with us!!! What kind of brush brands do you use/recommend?
I use Rosemary, but there are many good brush companies such as Trekell, Windsor Newton, Escoda and more.. make sure you get a stiffer brush, such as natural bristle
I use Utrecht natural bristle flats and Princeton synthetic flats but I’m not too particular about brands. It’s best to experiment and see what works best for you!
