Hey P-0, Just wanted to drop by and say thanks for your I'Art videos. They were a big part of my journey when I was working on my own JVC I'Art 32in set. I resorted to your videos amongst many others. Lots from Steve Nutter at RetroTech. I, like you have put in WAY too much time on working on and perfecting my I'Art, lol! I have done recaps, yoke adjustments, purity and focus, magnets for geometry, ect. Just about anything you can imagine, I've been deep into it. Love your I'Art man. It definitely inspired me to never give up on mine. There were certainly trying times with it, lol. Hope you're doing well man.
I had this same TV except in a 24" size. Bought it brand new from Circuit City in DEC 2002. First TV I ever bought for myself. Also had the matching Home Theater to go with it. Was a killer setup at the time with a GameCUBE, Xbox, and PS2 hooked up. Played ALOT of Project Gotham 2 on XBL, and NFS Underground on that TV. Loved that TV. Wish I could find another. Amazing Picture. JVC was always my first choice. Best bang for the buck IMO. Miss JVC.
I just acquired one of theses virtually unused. Its extremely bright and very VERY sharp. The scanlines are almost nonexistent, which is ok because this one is going to be designated for PS2 (480i) only. Its absolutely perfect for 480i.
FYI I own a JVC AV-32S33 the picture quality is identical to that of a D-series. Only discernible difference is the design of the front bezel. The speakers are on the side instead of the bottom. Added a door over the front video port. And the speakers are upgraded 3watt to 5watt. The D-series is just a It's a "Premium look" compared to the JVCs of that era not labeled D-series but with no added picture quality. If you can find a D series awesome but there are plenty of consumer CRTs out there of similar if not same quality. I would not waste time fonding over the "Legendary D-series" or one brand over another. Take what you can get. So long as the CRT is functioning properly and producing a picture that does not need correcting you're fine.
Got one with little use and had it stored for about 5 years. I've just pulled it out with my Sega master system and Dreamcast. Going the for the full retro.
Wow man, that really looks great! I had a Hitachi Ultravision HDcrt, looooved that thing. I'd grab another in a heartbeat, but this IART is an impressive analog option. I always thought the Sony flat screens were either a bit fuzzy or harsh depending on the model. Maybe just me
Sony's can be a tossup of either very sharp and nice or very issue-filled, but just like this with a lot of calibration you can make em look decent. Also I wish I had an Ultravision, would be cool to have for HD >:)
@@P-0-Seventeen there is jvc HDcrt that I got , interi art premiere , model is HV 34LH71 , havnt messed around with it much , and there is a musee line , don’t know if it’s better than lart
You need to calibrate cutoff using the Color Bars test pattern, and you need to calibrate contrast using the grid test pattern. It is obvious from the grid pattern that you have contrast too high, which is causing the scanline gap to disappear for the dots the center of each square of the grid. Those dots should visibly separate into one dot above another dot due to the scanline gap.
To get them to even have a half decent gap, the contrast becomes so low that the whole TV is too dim to play on. So that's why I don't use grid to test it because in the end i'll end up with a super dim screen more times then not
Can I hook up a Roku Express 4K ? I could not find the HDMI port. Any help would be appreciated. Trying for streaming TV and just cut my cable service. I have this exact JVC I´Art and love the TV picture quality.
Hey I hope you can help: A 27” JVC i’art Model AV27F577 went up on craigslist for $40, which is a great deal. I am concerned about 240p upscaling to 480i. I saw some redditors complaining it does this. A good CRT must make 240p look good in my opinion. I am a bit skeptical of this but wanted to ask if you are familiar with the model or this concern? I dont want SMB1 to be a blocky scanline-less upscaled mess!!
I have this same model and im having a real problem trying to fix the aspect ratio. the controller does have the "aspect" button, but theres only 2 choices and neither fix the ratio problem.. i have my PS1 and PS2 hooked up to it and its hard to run games on it because the words go off screen... there are no other options in the menu.. HELP!!!!
JVC has consistently left me wanting more. I really can't recommend them. Pretty much any CRT can be made to look this good with time and energy to calibrate and dial it in - there's nothing really special about this brand. Looks like yours has really low hours. The 32" I'Art I saw had garish colors, extreme red push, and the picture had this digital harshness to it.

I have the JVC i'art 32CF36 with a nice Philips tube inside. It's one of my sharpest and colorful crts in my collection.
I'Arts are so underrated. I loved my 32s. Wish I had unlimited space Id still have them

Dang even on camera you can tell how sharp the pixels are. If thats what someone is going for, its great

I'm real tempted to get these 32 and 36 inch tvs, but I think I'm going to stick with a 27.

I found a Jvc av-30W475 same tv but 16:9 aspects ratio. Any idea what it would be good with? SD set with 16:9 seems unique

You need to correct that in the Service Menu.

240p Test Suite для многих консолей. Я запускаю на эмуляторе SNES на PS2, другие используют версию на Wii или флэш-картридж для SNES. Много вариантов.
Are these 100hz? I ask because you say it has PiP.

To me JVC looks better then my Sony Trinitron Wega.
They do look better than most Trinitrons. Especially in the geometry department.
