    I think you left out an important aspect of the "don't fight teammate" button.
    If you've got cars running in 1st and 2nd, you can put the 2nd place car on "don't fight teammate" and they will not pass the car in 1st. No overtakes. No risk of crashing.
    Pretty sure you go slower per lap though because the trailing car isn't using DRS to pass.

      This is very true, the risk however is at the end of straights if the back car does lock up both cars are gone as they will usually be really close. To me personally I find both risky (both running togheter in a DRS train with or without don't fight teammate) and the best thing to do would probably be to forcefully slow down the second driver if possible to create a few seconds gap.
      But you are right, it is an option that can be used, I've probably just had a bit of bad luck when I've tried it.

    Just started playing and I found out about you after Melbourne. Currently at Baku and so far Sargeant binned it due to K mag in his 2nd lap of P1. Still qualified P14 with him and Albon P12. About to do the sprint and race and see how it goes

    Full attack still works just use 2 sets of mediums and either a soft or hard on the first or last stint but sometimes you will need to use 2 sets of hards on attack and either soft or medium on first or last stint...the thing is you need to make sure you save 2 fresh sets of hards and mediums for the race and dont use them in pratice

    The biggest issue I've been finding on the full attack strat is tyre temp, they just boil and wear so fast. I've found some success just using aggressive pace, but some of these tracks it just isn't faster.

      Agreed. I've not noticed any significant increase in pace by running harder tyres more aggressively. In fact I've noticed that it doesn't seem to have any effect at all other than melting the tyres and making them wear faster. The AI is still faster on the softer compound. Maybe it makes a difference if your car is as good or better than your opponents but I'm near the end of S1 as Alfa Romeo so my car is far from equal to the rest of the grid.

    This game needs a online mode or at least leaderboards of the fastest laps and run times...etc...even the best cars ranked on a leaderboard

    Love your videos man. Can u make a video on doing research and how to manage development during a season. Because u sometimes dont know when to start and how to manage it during the season. Also the most efficient method of doing research like if you should use the ATR period and CFD and when to fully dedicate research for next year. I am in Williams halfway through the second season on hard and I am the fastest car but have quite the points gap to red bull (I just overtook Ferrari in the constructors) because of upgrades coming a bit late. So should I focus on this year or turn my attention to next year as I just did Silverstone. And the gap is like 150 points.

      CFD and Wind are great when used on research there isn't any problem doing so. In terms of when to start research you can actually start it whenever you are fulfilling the board objectives, as you are in the second season with Williams I am unsure what exactly the board wants from you but I would expect it to be fulfilled for sure with you in second place.
      150 points isn't a unsurmountable gap, but to close that gap is going to require you to be pretty flawless as Verstappen is a tough nut to crack. If you are fine with it and want to have an easier time in season 3, switching over to research is viable but there is nothing wrong with going for the championship this season, but since you will most likely need to develop the car a bit it will probably make next seasons car suffer a bit because of regulation changes.
      I have a few guides on development and research on my channel, the last few patches hasn't really changed it.

    Amazing content as always, hope you are feeling better.
    Quick question, not related to tires but something you mentioned. I've grown used to using the Dirty Air and Curbs checkboxes during practice. I use them to try to extend the life of PU parts during those 3 sessions. Because the in-game text says it should reduce their wear... have you tried this, do you think it's relevant?
    It does make for slower laptimes, but I'm willing to trade that for extending the life of the PU parts, if it does make a difference.

      There is no problem doing this in practice to extent the lifespan of parts :)

    At the start of a race i go for high overtake for the first 2 laps of pushing...a good start of the race can mean 2 spots gained, without it you can lose 2 spots and if you start at the front its even more important to try to be in first so you dont have any dirty air at all....the chances of a crash on fresh tires are low, have low tire grip and taking high risk to pass is when a crash is most likely and if they do crash with in the first few laps just quit.....if anybody playing this game crashes in the first 10 laps and continues to race with one car your playing this game wrong

    Hey. Quick question: I’m doing the Mercedes save and I resigned Lewis Hamilton by putting him on a 2 year contract. Will he retire at the end of season 3 or will he be open for negotiations in that season?

      Honestly don't know, I think you might be able to bribe him to keep going, basically by paying him a insane wage but I am unsure as I haven't tested keeping a driver who is retiring but your best bet is probably to offer him a wage he cant say no too.

      I just used the Database to edit him to a contract to the end of 2025 to reflect real life on my Merc save, then ill just let him retire

    I’m confused, you’re boiling your tyres and it’s affecting your lap times? Full attack for too long brings lap times down and deg up?

      The way tyre temperatures work is that higher temps leads to higher degradation. Aslong as you don't go over the maximum temperature for the tyres you are usually not seeing any losses in terms of laptime.

      I wouldn't really recommend using avoid high risk kerbs unless you really need to cool your tyres, you are probably better off lowering the aggression level for pace instead.

    quick question on the overall game progression. Does the AI play to the same rules? I am amazed how Red Bull can afford to stay so dominant with less CFD/ wind tunnel resources, high salaries and less xp gained as they are so good already. Am in the third season and one of the rule changes is smaller cost cap and they replace Perez with Leclerc. Surely, next season they have to suffer on some front, right?

      They do for the most part, on hard they will get a little extra development boost at the end of the season. Im terms of finances the biggest expense you will have are facilities and if you dont upgrade these you will be swimming in money so financially it ahould be the same rules

      You can take any of my domination videos, for instance the one with Mercedes and carry that over to the Red Bull as you have a very dominating starting position. I would probably make one specialized part for every one of the six base parts and then focus research for the rest of the season, maybe make some more parts if the competition gets closer but Red Bull is very strong on game start.

    does attack mode cause increasing chance your driver to spun or lockup?

      Attack does mean you are running both tires and brakes hotter so in theory it should increase the chance of lockups. Havent really had a issue with it myself as I also believe it is tied to risk, as such aslong as you have low overtake agression and do not defend for defense you are usually fine.

      Could be an issue with brake cooling, as low brake cooling will increase the chance of lock-ups. Confidence is also a huge part in incidents aswell.
      Control does help, but could also just be a stroke of bad luck. Have had games where my driver will have incidents in 4-5 races in a row then nothing happen for a few seasons.

    Can you or anyone please explain the tyre deg advantage calculation because you started explaining it then jumped to 13 lap advantage. You literally made no sense at all how you got to that figure

      Time difference and deg difference, if there is a 0.2s advantage for softs and the difference between medium and soft degradation is 0.02 then the softs would have a advantage for the first 10 laps, after that the mediums get the advantage.

      Generally the higher the temperature of your powertrain components, the higher the wear, so pushing higher if you don't have sufficient cooling will lead to higher component wear.
