@@marcvanzyl8556 Not an expert of Skaven lore but I'd guess you could inherit a Warlord title. Of course due to an unfortunate accident to failed previous Warlord, totally random & unseen turn of events. Warlord seems to be the highest title to which one rat can climb with just martial and military prowess.
Color of ones fur seems to help also.
Miikka Sohlman fun fact the white fur isn’t natural it’s white not because they were born that way but because when they became Council guard the lords of decay talk them into the council camper and told them what they would do to the guard if they betray or fail them it was so horrific and terrifying it made the fur turn white in fear
@@marcvanzyl8556 They can't, since Council Guard are mute. Other Albinos can, becoming Grey Seers or high-level Warlords. The Council Guard are probably labrats though; you know, white fur and all...

The fun detail, is that they're only this "brave" due to their overwhelming fear of what their masters will do to council guard that fail or betray them. So it's less that they're brave, and more that they're far less scared of dying a quick death on the battlefield than face the consequences of leaving it.
Honestly, this is kind of terrifying- imagine if ALL the Skaven were as brave as the Council Guard, or had even a fraction of that courage. It's been said before that the Skaven could take over the world if they could get their shit together, and this battle was excellent proof of that.
They say the same with the Orks. If they weren't so busy fighting each other they'd kill everyone else
they can't becouse they dont exist.
That is hands down the most impressive last stand that I've ever seen from a single unit. Not to mention its a Skaven unit! Get those boys some extra cheese rations lol.

That comment in the beginning about the nature of replays is an interesting point you bring up. About how the level of play has evolved over the years. I'm currently running practice sessions for less experienced players, I might want to emphasise this to them in the future!
If this game was played under tournament rules, the chaos player wouldn't be able to wait until everything rallies. Of course it depends whether it was rules or poor tactics but it would seem to me that most XMT players play under Banner rules.
Also it's not a bad strategy to have one unit go in at a time to prevent a mass route.

It's not often you see Skaven melee infantry carry the game like that. Those RoRs are awesome (especially Council Guard).
The Blightscab's Plaguepack were absolute linebreakers too.

Giving flying creatures the ability to choose to land without needing to enter combat would help with the risks involved with having a flying lord in a faction that has generally weak fliers.

Thank you for showcasing less than top tier player matches. It's enjoyable to see the best players duke against one another but honestly I much prefer battles with more chaotic outcomes. Also makes me feel better about my less than stellar performance in multiplayer 😑

skaven are def high skill, but they really have a very good high skill. IMO, they've always been one of the best races.
Those horsemen still had ammo. They could have at least used all the ammo on the council guard before charging anything in.

@@sneekybaboon4249 There are yournament rules? Google didn't reveal anything solid. If it was ESL rules, I don't think the draw thing would count, since he's not playing for a draw, he's softening up a hard target before engaging.
Awesome last stand. But I think Sniktch and his mate might need to hand in their assassins guild badges and be exiled from Clan Eshin. 8+0 kills AND failing to take down Sarthorial, they had ONE job! Worse they had to lean on Clan Skryre to strike the killing blow on the chaos chicken. What an embarrassment to their clan.

I couldnt agree more about the competetive builds that have sort of become the norm. I love to see great players go head to head and this game is a great showcase of excactly that. But espescially the chaos composition in this one really is quite boring.
Thats why i really love channels like yours or turins because you got a great mix of content, crazy memes aswell as highly competetive matches. Keep up the great work!

I'd much rather watch high level replays of good players! If I want to see a whacky game of WH2 I can just turn on the game myself ^^
yes but when that is ALL you see, it makes people have unrealistic expectations for replays and player skill. variety is good imo

I assume that bit was about the recent Tomb kings/vampire counts video where people were shitting on the players alternatively about VC cycle charging and/or TK having bad micro. Note that 95% of them could do any better but they compare it to Felkon

I remember you did a 4v4 a while ago that was a complete mess, mammoths sent ahead into handgunners, vanguard deployed units on top of each other, swaths of units forgotten about.....etc etc. made it really different but entertaining. Also your TWW2 narration is best on youtube by far, so battles dont need to be between exceptional players to be fun to watch - I certainly wouldn't argue if that meant more battles make it into videos xD
@@milkandcookiesTW I get your point and I am also a huge fan of 3v3 or thematic replays. But even then, if I see a player just sending in his expensive cav/monster to die alone or leaving his elite missile units completly unprotected to get eaten alive by some cheap dogs, that just turns me off personally.
And it's not like I think I could do better I just find these tactical blunders very unenjoyable to watch.
