- Lowering the Rear Leaf Spring Suspension Morris Minor Split Screen
The rear of the car was sitting quite high but the it was already on 2 inch lowering blocks.
I decided to flip the 2nd leaf on the rear springs to get the car to sit lower. This is an old Hot Rodder’s trick from the 50’s apparently and enables a drop of roughly 3inches
That's a good idea I might have a go with George next summer 🤓👍
It’s the only way I could get her down without going stupid with lowering blocks or buying new springs
The height of the springs look perfect now

😀 Awesome Vid. The car is sitting so much better now. I am a little worried about the brackets slipping over time due to vibration etc as the originals were crimped on. I hope you prove me wrong. Did you loc-tight the nuts on the rebound clips, and did you paint them for protection as they will be under the car?

This type of brackets are used for n later ones I believe and certainly on lots of others makes/ Models. The nuts used are all Ny-Loc nuts so I’m sure they will stay
I will put some paint over them however for a little protection.

The blocks are still in and the front is now 1.5 inches lower as I’ve moved the lower arms one spline on the torsion bars.
It has left me with a couple of other things I need to do with the suspension which will be covered in another video. Thanks for watching!
