Morris Minor replacement Leaf Springs

- So the last video was supposedly concluding a 3 part suspension refresh on my minor and saw me complete one side. However, on stripping the other, I found the leaf spring was bent and unusable. So, a new pair was ordered but didn't arrive looking as new and shiny as expected.
Once again, I set about stripping and coating the springs and refitting.
Rust treatment was a mix of
Rustins Rust Converter
ZG-90 anti-rust spray paint with primer
Hopefully this is the end of the suspension refresh finally!!
Please remember, I am not a trained mechanic, and what I do may not be the best / correct way but works for me. Videos are made as a guide of how I did it rather than a bible for others to follow.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for sharing. I am restoring my four-door saloon and was looking for this part of the restoration. Well done for your work - Regards from Malta!
My pleasure. Best of luck with your restoration.
Hi there, thought I would say hello 👋
I too am a custodian of 3 Morris’s 2 travellers and a van left to me by my late father ❤.
You make a great video so thanks.
One of my travellers my father finished the restoration when he was 83 and it hasn’t been used much yet as I’ve been finishing off a lot of nigly bits but done all that bar 2 bigger jobs. It may need new main bearings and it leans to one side a bit. I’ll get around to it.
Anyway thanks for the videos.

Hi Dave. Thanks for your message and reaching out. Sounds like you have your hands full with 3 Minors. It's hard to find time to use and maintain them.
Thanks for watching.
@@workinprogress1098 morning, it’s not so bad as I don’t work anymore so generally over winter I spend 3 full days on then plus the motorbikes.
Have a good weekend 👍

Loving the content mate!
Thank you
My traveller seems to sit too low at the back as if the springs have settled. I'm reluctant to but new springs as I've heard most of what's on the market isn't great quality and would also settle quite quickly. Any suggestions? Maybe lowering blocks like yours?
Lowering blocks would only lower the car further. To raise it, you could buy longer rear shackles if you really didn't want to replace the springs. Not sure where to buy though.
@@workinprogress1098 I realised after I posted that lowering blocks wouldn't work! As you suggest, longer shackles don't seem to be available. Perhaps I could make some.
