I met Honeyboy and saw him play at the Juke joint festival in Clarksdale Miss in 2009.....really humble and cool guy! I felt really starstruck...he was the Real Deal!
I saw Honeyboy play here in Toronto at Harbourfront. I photographed him during his show and had a chance to speak with him after the show. He was a real gentleman.
His diction was very clear to me. Reminds me of my Grandmother's generation from down home. Their conversations were meant for your heart, not your ears !!!
@@deloreswilson1798, in the book, "Up Jumped the Devil....The Real Life of Robert Johnson", author Bruce Conforth states that naphthalene, then known as passagreen and used in mothballs, was what poisoned Robert Johnson.
Poor Robert one is as bad as the other.Neither should have been used. What a sad life some of us artists live. The artists life is seldom easy, but some have the whole house fall on them. That was Robert. The whole house fell.He looked for trouble and found it.There are no good shortcuts.🤔
There seems to be some speculation as to where Robert Johnson is buried...I've been to the 'pecan tree' burial at Little Zion although a couple other cemeteries in or around Greenwood claim to having his final resting place too...
What interview is this from, if anyone knows? I'm guessing the one with Pete Welding, and that's what I want to cite it as, but I'm writing a term paper on Johnson and wanted to make sure.
Sounds like he was poisoned by thT woman's husband, he knew and got the bottle ready. The waitress knew which one to give him. First of the 27 Club, and the first Guitar Hero.

David "Honeyboy" Edwards was the last original Delta Bluesman to have walked this world... he was last man standing...
I saw him at BBs in Manhattan about 2008 or so. Great treat
I saw Honeyboy in concert once, back in 1994. A good evening!

I toured with him. He is THE truth teller.
Excellent! Thank you.
Had been at the museum run by his grandson Steven Johnson. He told us the same story. It was "bad" whisky.
thankyou so much
You're welcome, Prudence. Thanks for watching.
@@deloreswilson1798 I wish I could event remotely understand what you meant by this
@@prudencewalrus3559Robert Johnson was poisoned with strichnine. That's what was in his drink.🤔

Yes, from a previously unreleased July 29,1967 recording session at Testament Records , Chicago, Illinois.
He sure spoke quickly. Coulda done a killer version of Walk This Way....
Are you still playing?
Maybe HoneyBoy's story needs to be told and you may be one of few to be able to tell some of it.
Live by the sword kinda thing. What a horrible way to go
Thats amazing another Andrew Bowen interested in old blues. Best wishes from Wales uk

seems like honey could of answered so many questions but didn't really feel the need
He seems to confirm the “poisoned whiskey” theory though.
