Same here! I hate when someone puts in music to something that should be heard as is. Music when not wanted makes natural nature scenes worthless and makes people not want to bother ever going back to the channel that had the nature video thinking that they would all be the same.
I see otter, mink, fisher and marten. An abundance of moose and black bears, some of which are enormous (8ft?). Many wolves, some lone, some packs, and whitetail deer. Great compilation, great editing, thanks for the awesome nature show!

@@jimf1964 Algonquin Wolves. They are a subspecies of Gray Wolves, with some Coyote DNA. They're tough to tell apart from coyotes, but side by side there is an obvious difference.
canadianconquistador Yes, some call it the coywolf. They're everywhere in the east, but there are still eastern red wolves which are a fair bit larger, and have a different shaped head, or muzzle. They can be hard to tell the difference on camera, because it is hard to tell the size on camera. So there are wolves which weigh in at around 80lbs, and coyotes, which are about half that, and coywolves which are a mix or eastern red wolf, grey wolf, and coyote. It gets complicated. Anyway, to my eye, they mostly looked pretty small, and with the more pointed muzzle, but I could be wrong. The coywolves are becoming a problem in the east, as they're larger and more aggressive than coyotes which are an extremely shy animal. They're both a problem if you own a farm though.
I was staying in a cabin that had a trail came in front of it. One night, I was coming from a hot springs pool about a half a mile away around midnight. I knew there were black bears in the area, so I brought a light and shined it everywhere and made plenty of noise to make sure they knew I was there. I made it to the cabin from the hot springs safely, but when I looked at the trail cam the next morning, it showed a bear on the cabin's porch which was only four minuets after I had entered the cabin. It's a story that I'll always remember.

Everytime I'm there I heard wolves howling every night but wolves are shy and won't bother you...believe it or not the moose are the most dangerous animal up there and I have been charged on a few occasions...especially canoeing around bends in marshland and they are standing right there 10 feet from you eating reeds, scares the shit out of you.
Usually, predators avoid a person but are afraid of him, unless they are in a severe state of deadly hunger or defending their young, they attack the person and do not care.

Well, we didn't SEE any, but that doesn't mean they weren't around. Barb Shupe (her channel's on TH-cam) caught one on camera that was cloaked. I had to slow it down to 1/4 speed to see it. It jumped out of a tree from about 30 ft up, hit the ground, and took off running faster than human could. Outline of it was visible, but it looked like it mirrored the surrounding vegetation. If you look up the video, play it at normal speed until someone says, "Did you hear that?" Then rewind by 10 seconds. Change the video speed to 1/4. If you dont know how, just click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right hand corner of the video. Then click on playback speed. Once you've done that, watch the video from that point. Just to right of center screen is the area to watch. Thou may have to repeat the process a few times. I did. But it's unmistakable.

It's amazing how the animals don't collide with each other at any point at least in this depiction...I'm sure they all pick up the smell and scents left behind on the trail...they all have extra senses that probably help them maintain their space...loved this.🐻

Im an accomplished thruhiker and it fascinates me to see and watch what actually inhabits the very forests that I hike thru yet, as most humans, have NO idea that all this wildlife surrounds me as I just dont see it...yet they are very aware of me!...and, as of now, this is THE best stealth wildlife video I have seen here on youtube. GREAT job...and thank you for not adding any inane music to your video. So many others who do that have no idea how it completely ruins the watching experience. Great clarity and it has been a most pleasurable viewing!!!!!!!!

When you watch unedited trail cam footage, practically every mammal tall enough to see the lens will see them, and they may also be able to smell them. They all seem to slowly approach while seeming to look at their own reflection before getting close enough to sniff it. When a camera is put in a new spot, the curious mammals immediately spot it and check it out. We have to remember that being alert and knowing their territory well enough to identify very minor changes is what keeps the animals alive. It’s just too easy to view their lives through our eyes, but where we humans rarely spot minor-and often major!-changes to our environment, it just isn’t so with animals, who go around and around and around those same paths several times a day.
Simply stunning! Thank you for allowing us to view these beautiful creatures in a natural environment. Have loved wolves all my life and at first glance (believe it was at night) I thought they were coyotes, but there are no coyotes in the Algonquin park I believe. And once I saw them in the light, yep wolves. Wasn't sure at first exactly which type, but these were no way close to the grey wolf as these were smaller and more delicate, so I'm thinking perhaps eastern timber wolves. I sat watching this with a cup of coffee and thought this is extraordinary and how fortunate we are to have these beautiful creatures in our world, and we must continue to protect this beauty for future generations. Thank you Algonquin Park for making a safe refuge for these beautiful animals.
Thanks for posting this. Three takeaways...River otters are awesome, those Algonquin bears are fat AF by late summer and those mama moose are very dark coloured up there. Long live this remarkable ecosystem.
The harmonious scenes are so relaxing and restorative to watch. How anyone in their right mind can justify hunting, even for food nowadays, is beyond me? How can anyone who is genuinely compassionate hurt those precious creatures?

I think when we see the weasels and monks are the best parts of the video. I also love how we repeatedly see a trio of otters running around. It was sad to see the wolf missing a leg though.
I enjoy ALL your footage of Algonquin. It's true you may never see an animal on any given visit but this video and all the others you have done prove differently. Algonquin is my favorite place in Ontario. Thank you for show casing her internal beauty. Generally we like to camp at Achray and have seen Moose, Bears, Fox , Coyote, And heard the wolves howl from our campsite. (over the course of many visits). It was the most amazing experience! That being said I am concerned that illegal trapping may still be happening around the park. After seeing the wolf with only 3 legs 25:12 . it does raise my curiosity. Heart breaking if man was involved. ...Thank you for your dedication.

A couple of Marten too! ... & a crazy hopping summer coated Snowshoe (aka Varying) Hare to boot! 🐇 'Great Algonquin Wolf sequences in these trailcam vids too! Especially the male that's lost the lower half of his left hind leg (perhaps to a full body snare of light aircraft cable that ended up as a leghold snare). 'Probably on the southeast side of The Park?? Thanks again for sharing. 'Great behavioural sequences too especially notable the group of otters doing that territorial scent marking. I've seen the evidence but never caught them in the act!! The Canadian Encyclopedia online outlines some of his other significant contributions towards the protection of parks and special places in Ontario in particular, as well as his focus on the protection of wolves worldwide & of the Canadian Arctic environment. I.e. ...and especially in empowering indigenous peoples in northern decision-making.

Very rare to catch martins and or fishers, especially carrying their prey. I've run into a few while walking in the woods, but always get them mixed up. Also the bear hauling a deer, and rubbing on trees is unique and very special. I have trail cams but have always set them to photo to save battery power at night, but am going to switch to video setting from now on. Thanks again!
i’ve seen a lot of ppl saying that the wolves/coyotes are “looking thin,” “starving” & other stuff like that. maybe someone else will have paid attention to minor details of this video. 1. when they look thin or starving- look at the date on the bottom of the screen - its during the warmer months - hot weather equals less body fat & fur 2. in the cooler months , they will start to bulk up ... hence the more fur & more body fat
And zoos often keep their predators overweight so they are less active (less stereotypic behaviour, etc) . Maybe people are not used to see them this thin.
True story, I used to own 2 Wolf Hybrids, they looked hilarious in the Summer, big bushy tails shed away to nothing..... come November, they looked massive again.
@@craiggagnon8407, we also had wolf/dogs. The way they shed in great big blotches was crazy. I'd curry them in spring with our horses curry comb and have literal garbage sacks full of fur.
This park is an experience like no other! It truly makes time stop with all its nature and beauty and peace. If you can bare the mosquito attacks, which by the way are brutal even if you have spray, this is a must go for nature lovers. Thank you for sharing this! I didn’t know there were bears 🐻.... maybe I won’t go anymore now that I know lol

Jeff Mcilroy years ago my husband and I camped in Algonquin in a pup tent. I heard some movement outside the tent.
These animals all look pretty nice and mostly not maneaters.
They know you’re there they just stay away. Animals do their best to avoid humans.

Have loved wolves all my life and at first glance (believe it was at night) I thought they were coyotes, but there are no coyotes in the Algonquin park I believe. And once I saw them in the light, yep wolves. Wasn't sure at first exactly which type, but these were no way close to the grey wolf as these were smaller and more delicate, so I'm thinking perhaps eastern timber wolves. I sat watching this with a cup of coffee and thought this is extraordinary and how fortunate we are to have these beautiful creatures in our world, and we must continue to protect this beauty for future generations. Thank you Algonquin Park for making a safe refuge for these beautiful animals.
Thanks for posting this. Three takeaways...River otters are awesome, those Algonquin bears are fat AF by late summer and those mama moose are very dark coloured up there. Long live this remarkable ecosystem.
The harmonious scenes are so relaxing and restorative to watch. How anyone in their right mind can justify hunting, even for food nowadays, is beyond me? How can anyone who is genuinely compassionate hurt those precious creatures?
Because its necessary. If people dont hunt we will become over populated bu animals.

I think when we see the weasels and monks are the best parts of the video. I also love how we repeatedly see a trio of otters running around. It was sad to see the wolf missing a leg though.

I enjoy ALL your footage of Algonquin. It's true you may never see an animal on any given visit but this video and all the others you have done prove differently. Algonquin is my favorite place in Ontario. Thank you for show casing her internal beauty. Generally we like to camp at Achray and have seen Moose, Bears, Fox , Coyote, And heard the wolves howl from our campsite. (over the course of many visits). It was the most amazing experience! That being said I am concerned that illegal trapping may still be happening around the park. After seeing the wolf with only 3 legs 25:12 . it does raise my curiosity. Heart breaking if man was involved. ...Thank you for your dedication.

'Great Algonquin Wolf sequences in these trailcam vids too! Especially the male that's lost the lower half of his left hind leg (perhaps to a full body snare of light aircraft cable that ended up as a leghold snare). 'Probably on the southeast side of The Park??

'Great behavioural sequences too especially notable the group of otters doing that territorial scent marking. I've seen the evidence but never caught them in the act!! 'Also the bears (boars, sows & cubs) & the bucks, fawns, cows, calves, & bulls & their interesting antics.🦌 NOT to mention the vixens & (whatever's a male fox's called)!

The Canadian Encyclopedia online outlines some of his other significant contributions towards the protection of parks and special places in Ontario in particular, as well as his focus on the protection of wolves worldwide & of the Canadian Arctic environment. I.e. ...and especially in empowering indigenous peoples in northern decision-making.
Thank You Kevin, that was very enjoyable. My wife's away for the weekend, as soon as she gets back I'll share it. Wow! you got some huge black bears there. Very rare to catch martins and or fishers, especially carrying their prey. I've run into a few while walking in the woods, but always get them mixed up. Also the bear hauling a deer, and rubbing on trees is unique and very special. I have trail cams but have always set them to photo to save battery power at night, but am going to switch to video setting from now on. Thanks again!

i’ve seen a lot of ppl saying that the wolves/coyotes are “looking thin,” “starving” & other stuff like that.
maybe someone else will have paid attention to minor details of this video.
1. when they look thin or starving- look at the date on the bottom of the screen - its during the warmer months - hot weather equals less body fat & fur
2. in the cooler months , they will start to bulk up ... hence the more fur & more body fat
And zoos often keep their predators overweight so they are less active (less stereotypic behaviour, etc) . Maybe people are not used to see them this thin.
True story, I used to own 2 Wolf Hybrids, they looked hilarious in the Summer, big bushy tails shed away to nothing..... come November, they looked massive again.
@@craiggagnon8407, we also had wolf/dogs. The way they shed in great big blotches was crazy. I'd curry them in spring with our horses curry comb and have literal garbage sacks full of fur.

This park is an experience like no other! It truly makes time stop with all its nature and beauty and peace. If you can bare the mosquito attacks, which by the way are brutal even if you have spray, this is a must go for nature lovers.

I was woken up a week ago by a pair of them fighting under my window and bouncing off my van, they wouldn’t pack it up until an irate neighbour came outdoors and chased them off ! Foxes indeed !!
