    Unrelated to this specific video, but can anyone imagine what it would be like to see Chris Buck have a riff battle with Derek Trucks? I think that would be insane.

    • @allanmills6540
      @allanmills6540 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Always thought they had similar 'phrasing'! Chris manages to do it without a slide tho! Beautiful touch!

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If it’s just straight jamming a solo, Chris would dust him right now. Derek has a very specific thing he does, depending which band he’s in, but in say, the Allman Bros., Warren is more like a Buck.
      It’s really not a good riff battle, because they’re so different in style, with slide being Trucks main weapon.

      Jamming together absolutely but the comments knocking Derrick in a comparison is insane.

    NO! This rig is not excessive (answering the thumbnail question). In fact, for everyone reading this who isn't touring, you can also spend just as much on your rig guilt free :).

    • @castleanthrax1833
      @castleanthrax1833 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, everytime I fell like it's excessive, buying a new pedal or another amp or guitar, I just watch one of Chris's videos like this one (or similar gigging muso). It's sufficient to tell me I "need" something new. ✌️🇦🇺

      How about the fact we see another of one of the best, using a multi fx digital box, yet still having all the analog and digital individual pedals.
      And he uses actual amps, just as nearly every touring guitarist whose band can afford to carry them. This notion that the modeler is replacing amps, or even pedals, is just not real. It may be for folks who aren’t making money gigging, but not for anyone actually making a living touring. I know there are exceptions, but I’ve yet to hear any of my favorites using only a modeler and multi fx, and definitely not digital Overdrive, Fuzz or distortion.

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. It’s one of the things that keep me going, as I’m becoming an old man, who wants my pedals!
      I don’t care if it’s an open mic! I don’t care if they have a pedalboard up there! I’m at least bringing my small board. Just 9 pedals… 😄

    Speaking of the 68 Pro Reverb, I bought one and absolutely loved it 2 weeks later the reverb stopped working. Took it back and got a replacement, plugged it in and the reverb didn’t work and instead made a terrible static noise. As much as I loved the tone, I decided to return it and not order another one.
