So happy for you and your mates. I'm here in California. I'm a old man now and ran with my buddies in the 80's in the San Francisco Bay music scene. They blew it with coke and egos. I wish you happiness, success and good health . You're an amazing musician. Most importantly a really stand up guy. Play on young man!

i am also an older guy by now and i had they same thing happening overhere in holland , i played in a great band but sadly the ego's and coke / booze / females took hold and destroyed the whole lot . i sometimes do miss these day's though , live has become a lot more boring : )

@@antoonhermans8953 Hey my friend. Ya, my life is a tad slower these days and I miss certain parts of the 80's. Some of the shit I did I don't even tell my wife about. 83-89 was a cocaine alcoholic porn induced semi blur. I dumped my friends and the lifestyle on Nov 3rd 1989. I've been clean ever since. Met my normal wife in 94. We've been all over the USA and Europe. We even went to Liverpool to see the Beatles homes and everything in between. I was on my last legs in 89. I was toast. I had screwed up everything thinking blow would solve everything. Then friends started dying and I couldn't support myself anymore. So it was over. My guitars are now hanging on the spare bedroom walls. I gave away my Les Paul to a kid who could really play and was in the coast guard. He was from New Jersey. I will eventually give away the rest to some deserving kid or kids. The Strat will be the last to go, but you never know. Be safe and enjoy our later years. I just admire these guys so much. I hope the make it to the States. I'm sure The wife and I could swing a dinner for the group and some normalcy for the evening.
Be safe and thanks for the pleasant response. A fellow older person.....

@@ipuya When I told my future wife I had been with more women in one weekend, half in one really messed up night than all her previous relationships including her first marriage she was a little shocked. She thought I was shitting her. She then informed me ( she's a nurse) to go get tested before anything physical happens between us. I did, I was fine. I was always worried considering how f***ed up we always were and how easy it was to just disregard our safety when your forever drunk or high and so hungover you can't remember how to pee. So you just puke and start drinking again.

@@rodgerrodger1839 Hello there Rodger , thanks for the nice reply too , and yep , those times where crazy and in the end it cost me my marriage , job , house ect , this peroid lasted from the late 80's until the beginning of the 90's , later on in life i too dumped all these so called " freinds / bandmates " ( from wich indeed many are dead now due to overdoses , car/ motorbike accidents , suicides or drugs / alcohol related illness ) and also went about my own way , i am not proud of myself and the things i have done in that period but yeah thats life i guess , i am a bedroom guitarplayer now and still enjoy playing a lot , funny thing is that history repeats itself and i see a lot of youngsters making the same stupid choices as we did back in those day's , i do think that chris buck is a smart fellow and won't fall into that trap , take care and enjoy you're normal life : ) i guess in the end we got lucky and survided those times , greetings from Holland , Antoon .

I have been playing music, mostly guitar, for 58 years. Taught music for 20 years. It is beyond refreshing to see and hear Chris and his mates in Cardinal Black. They seem to really enjoy the pure pleasure of playing great music. Hard to describe it, but Chris Buck has IT.

  • @joequintana5546

Your tone is the same no matter what guitar you play. This is actually a compliment in disguise. Most guitar players spend a lifetime trying to find their own voice to sound unique and you've achieved it so young.

  • @sundaynightdrunk

Chris Buck's tone on a Telecaster is the reason I bought one. Just compare how he cuts through the band at 3:05 compared to the other guitars.

@@nikolabakich9709 yeah, it's gotten to the point where if your not opening for Ozzy or some other established artist with pull, it's gonna be much harder to get over that perverbial hill. Thats why you see all these festival style events where at least 3 bands perform on the same stage each night. Very difficult for new artists to get alot of exposure without the TH-cam. Tone comes through the hands. Your use of the Squier Jazzmaster is extraordinary because your playing sounds the same as it does on your high end guitars. The aquisition of special guitars is fun and part of the hobby, but a professional only needs a well set -up instrument. Year, vintage, marque are just the icing on a cake that's already quite tasty.

As always, you sound phenomenal. Thanks for the tour through your gear. A quick thought: Other than the Revstars, the Mike Stern models from 25 years ago, and of course the LP killers from the late 70s, Yamaha never seems to get the love they deserve from guitarists, in spite of them having built them longer than pretty much anybody else in Asia. Very pleased to see someone of your caliber playing one of their acoustics, which in my opinion, are hands down the best bang for your buck available anywhere.

My pedalboard seems small now compared to Mr Buck's, I might have to buy more stuff.
