For me this is THE ABSOLUTE PERFECT mask. I've used pillows in the past and with success but nothing is comparable to the comfort and effectiveness of this unit. I use it with a chin strap because I have a tendency to breathe through my mouth. The key is making sure you use the right size nose cushion (I use the medium wide). Been using it for about a month and I actually look forward to going to sleep. I find it almost totally silent. Thank you Respironics!!
Gary Stiles I think I might get the chin strap as well I do sometimes try to breath through my mouth as I sleep but not as much as I thought as I would.
This mask is so awesome! No nasal prongs. It's like Angelina Jolie has her luscious lips snugged up against your nose. If you make sure the hose connection is 1) on the "top" of your head, and 2)the band is placed horizontal or lower, it won't leak and it will feel great! Having the hose on top of your head, rather than on your nose, elephant trunk style, is a major comfort and vision improvement. Trust me on this one.
It's much more comfortable then the mask has the nasal pieces . the airflow at the top of the mass keeps the mask from pressing upwords forcing your nose into your four head The mass that had the front hose forced air and pressure into my eyes causing my eyes to swell and causing my head to ache 😰. The coverings are soft and protect my face from sticking to the plastic or silicone or whatever material is ,making wearing the mask more comfortable . It is also easy to clean just wash with warm water and mild soap rinse well and hang upside down to drain and dry
I just started using Cpap 4 days ago and I was given this mask with my Dreamstation. The first two days were pretty rough as I got some irritation on my septum but now that’s healed I actually am getting used to this mask and I am actually getting good sleep.

This Is a Awesome Mask I have had My Bi Pap Machine for more than 10 years plus and haven't been able to use this Machine Thank You, At Last I Can Get A Good Night's Sleep
I know that this is an old video now, but I tried several masks before trying this one and because I have a very oddly shaped nose (tip points upward and one nostril is bigger than the other) I was struggling with leaks and constant pain and nosebleeds. I was starting to feel really hopeless, but I went to see a respiratory therapist who suggested I give this mask a try and I'm so happy I did. I finally found something that works for me! I have had near zero leaks since wearing this mask, and according to my airsense 11 I've had a score of 100 for the last 17 days consecutively.
Great mask. When i first got it, had issues with mouth breathing and dry mouth all day as a result. Solved this with mouth taping, no dry mouth and definitely more successful cpap therapy since.
I had an over the nose mask 10 years ago with the hose attached in front and had a good experience. I'm back on CPAP again, I've slept with this mask for three nights and I'm not liking the hose on top of my head. I'm going to get an over the nose mask and compare. Ps. I have a full mustach and beard just the same as 10 years ago.
Hi John, thanks for taking time out to share your experience with our great cpap community. Sorry to hear it's not working well for you. Let me know how you go with the standard nasal mask. Nick
Hi guys, ResMed is trying to take down the CPAP Reviews channel. I think we might have 12 hours left. Here's a Facebook Group i started! Please join for support - facebook.com/groups/138127984943408 . If you have any free time please copy this and post it on the comments. Thank you so much! Nick
With the Single strap around the back of the head, will it have a tendency to slide up the back of Your head at night and brake the seal around Your nose? Thanks
I switched to this from the Philips DW hybrid full. I love how it feels more open. I felt a bit closed in with the hybrid. I have been using CPAP since Late Sept 2020 after a terrible time with an oral device. I do not mind CPAP at all. , so I am still trying to figure things out. Problem is I do mouth breathe. I am using somnifix mouth tape as from what I have read there are really no great chin straps. I do have to use something tho as I can feel a difference when my mouth is not closed. Trying to learn OSCAR to evaluate but it is a bit to learn. I think there is an issue somewhere and the AHI seems to not change much despite subjective feelings . AHI is less than 5 - usually around 2 with therapy but I feel tired sometimes. I am improved but am trying to really nail the therapy. Thank you for your channel.
Thank you again Nick for your explanation of this new mask if I ever had to wear one this one would seem to be the best mask although I have a very small head and nose so I guess you just have to try the different ones. Due to my own respiratory problems I am even more interested in your videos as well as learning more as a nurse. Thank you once again good video.
Hi Carol, bit of an older one that one but many people use that mask. I personally would advise you to stay away from Philips products altogether though :-). Best wishes. Nick
Is it normal to feel a bit of discomfort right below the nose? Just finished my first night with this from switching from a full face and I had a perfect seal but man the under side of my nose felt like a metal bar was pressing up.
Good thing I discovered this snoring remedy t.co/Dre5IfqVTi My boyfriend appears to discover great development, so I’m really satisfied with it. I really have a great sleep daily now. My stress will simply diminish whenever I perform the neck and jaw routines, it keeps me relaxed. .
I find this mask fantastic But it needs a lightweight leader hose as the normal hose is quite heavy if you are a restless sleeper. I have a deviated septum and often have sinus issues and other than the heaviness of the hose at the top I love it. Having said that I think I would be better with a small frame.
I toss and turn so much. I always end up twisting tube under my head and sometimes around my neck. Plus I'm a side sleeper. Seems to cut off air flow on the side of tubing.
Yes, nearly all cpap tubing is universal (except the resmed airmini device). One thing to be careful of though is to make sure you take out any quick release mask parts from the old tubing and put in the new tubing. If it doesn't fit you know you've left something in the old tube ;-)
Does anybody have any comments for mouth breather. I am using a Respironics Dreamwear and sometime use chin strap along with it,. Thanks but did not really help
heureusement ya cs remède d'appareils pour apnée du sommeil sinon il y aurez beaucoup de décès.Mais a la long est ce qu' on peu guérir et bannir l'appareil merci
Watching this as I lie in bed with this thing on for the first time. Am I missing something? There is absolutely no way in hell I could ever sleep with this thing on
Hi Judy, thanks for your comment however it is incorrect. We have many customers with deviated septums that use nasal masks. As always it is best to trial a mask first to see how you adapt to using it. Thanks for your comment
This is USELESS for those who sleep with their mouths open, and that's the majority of people with sleep apnea.... and most without it. it's highly unlikely people are going to be breathing through their nose throughout the night. Back to the drawing board, guys.
Angie M I totally disagree. I personally sleep with my mouth closed and have severe sleep apnea. This mask works wonderful for me, as I am also a side sleeper and move around from one side to the other.
For me, sleeping with my mouth tightly closed was a learned behavior. It became automatic with a little time. If you have severe nasal congestion you may need to stay with a full face mask. I have found that my "APAP with Dreamware combo" actually clears my breathing all night even with my frequent allergy-type nasal congestion.
My mouth drops open when asleep but do continue to breathe through my nose as most people do. Currently use a nasal mask and 3M 2" Transpore across my mouth to tape it shut, this prevents air escaping from the CPAP when it hits obstruction in my throat. You are correct that a nasal mask alone isn't enough for complete therapy for me but for some it works just fine though.
Late to the party here, but there is now a full face mask option for this unit. It replaces the nasal cushion. The nice thing is that it is interchangeable, so you can switch back and forth as desired.. I am seriously considering switching to this system from my current ResMed full face mask apparatus.
One reason we open our mouth is that we are gasping for air. Like running vs walking. We open our mouths while running because we need air. With a good nasal mask there is no need to open the mouth.

Can you put this DreamWear Mask in a SoClean Machine?
You did not address nasal septem displacement which makes nasal pillows not possible. Is this more like a nasal mask or a pillow mask in that regard?
I switched to this from the Philips DW hybrid full. I love how it feels more open. I felt a bit closed in with the hybrid. The new philips respironics DreamWare CPAP mask now offers pillow nose piece for this mask.
I feel like I can’t exhale fully. Is this normal? Like I have air in my chest
Is it normal to feel a bit of discomfort right below the nose? Just finished my first night with this from switching from a full face and I had a perfect seal but man the under side of my nose felt like a metal bar was pressing up.

Hello, thank you for your input Sharon. Cheers Nick
But if you lay on your side, wouldn't the air get cut off on the tube along your cheek? I recall that happening years ago when I tried one.
I'm a side sleeper and this is perfect because as one side is squashed the air still comes through the other side.
Nick where are you situated in kilsyth? Can we come and check the masks?
Hi Nick, i'm not currently consulting. Kind regards Nick
I toss and turn so much. I always end up twisting tube under my head and sometimes around my neck. Plus I'm a side sleeper. Seems to cut off air flow on the side of tubing.
I last 3 days it seems to be leaking why?
i HAVE A bIPap set at 24 / 11 will this mask work for me
yes
The nose piece is right up against my nostril how am I supposed to inhale?
Can this mask be used with a ResMed CPAP? Is tubing universal?
Yes it can. 15 or 22 mm hoses are supported.
Yes, nearly all cpap tubing is universal (except the resmed airmini device). One thing to be careful of though is to make sure you take out any quick release mask parts from the old tubing and put in the new tubing. If it doesn't fit you know you've left something in the old tube ;-)
