@@retrokingranch really? to me it can get really hard cause the other cars get so aggressive and in the way in the tight areas and sharp turns. fun level though. i have beat the game on master, so it's not the hardest thing ever, but a nice fun challenge
i beat "master" king league back in 2003. might try for it again this year. i freaking love F-Zero. the graphics still look amazing, it holds up really well! best racing game ever
Man, this game has 3 boss battles. They are: Death Wind II, Port Town II and Fire Field. I was able to come to Fire Field in the Standard King League exactly 3 times and died in all of them. I made it to Beginner 3 times and died again. I've been playing for about 5 hours for the second day and I don't plan on playing again. I call out to my friends who will play: "DON'T PLAY THIS FUCKING GAME FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH!" But despite everything, the game and its music are really nice.
If you haven't already tried this, using save states to practice Fire Field could be useful. I still do consider it to be a very difficult stage, though.
@@sonic.747buy the SNES mini. It plugs into your TV and you get a menu of 20(?) games, including F-Zero. It allows you to save progress. If you crash, reset the system and it will give you an option to save the last 40 seconds of your game and redo.
Man dude, you would kick my ass at this game! I could not tell y’all how many times I’ve died playing Death Wind 2 and Fire Field. But either way this is probably my favorite cup in this game. Mute City 3, Port Town 2, Red Canyon 2, and yes even *_Fire Field_* are all tracks that’re in my top ten favorite tracks in this game. Also, I have a cool trick for playing Fire Field. Whenever I’m at the fork in the road, I use my booster to boost down the very middle, straight through the wall guardrail thingies.
Fire Field was a racing course from hell, and seeing you get second place in Fire Field on King League Master Difficulty gets my point across. It's nice how you got first place in almost every racing course. Congratulations!
That was awesome. I wish they would remake the 1st F-Zero game on the Nintendo Switch. With the similar look, just enhanced graphics and storyline and maybe more vehicles.
When you start a race, just hold the R button to drift into the other racers path for a boost. You can get 2 hits, one from Falcon and another from Goose. On death wind 1 & 2 don't hold R, the wind blows you directly in front of Goose. Hope this helps 🙏
Seeing you racing like that gives me the creeps...I play this game since it came out in 1991, but I never became so good in it. When I see you drive this masterclass in King league like that all my attempts feel futile...I can't even get first place in Death Wind II and I can't finish the damn race in Fire Field on Beginner mode. I always hated the fact that the AI in this game cheats like fuck ! Those orange and purple vehicles always get in the way, the driving bomb always drives toward you and doesn't explode when one of the rivals hit him. Next to that the rivals never have to 'refuel' their power and drive through even the sharpest of turns at almost full speed...Where I must brake for a corner they just run in to you at full speed and it's always works against you. If I hit them you crash into the wall, if they hit you, you crash into the wall. That was always the case with Nintendo in these days...at least you can see a little competition here, rivals indeed try to overtake each other, but other then that there are always false advantages for the AI, same was the case with Mariokart for the SNES... Anyway, great race and respect for someone who can drive like this !!!
I see you're an F-zero fan as well man, great 😎👊🏻🔝 You're even better than me at the original I've managed to finish second too on Fire Field but with the Golden Fox
Yeah, they basically made it so the heaviest car gets the best handling, the best top speed, the most health, and the most priority when bumping cars. Lightweights only get acceleration. Shouldn't have been that hard to balance a car selection on a linear gradient of stat tradeoffs. To the game's credit though, you only feel the mismatch once you start playing Master difficulty.
I understand that its top speed was much better & it was more resistant. But I had a good run with Blue Falcon. The Wild Goose was a lesser version of the Fire Stingray, but playable. The Golden Fox was the only one I couldn't play with, it would explode too easily & its top speed was only enough for lesser tracks/difficulties. Death Wind 2 for example was much easier with the Blue Falcon, you didn't need to hit the breaks after the speed arrow. Silence was also easier with it.
MrValBar2 I can do it on all tracks but Death Wind by simply holding the R button as I accelerate & stall out (I regain the speed from being hit from behind). Matter of fact, one can get hit twice in this way at the start of the race & be above 400 km/h from the start.
U lost already 2 lives After Mute City. U can see the 0 lives when u start Death Wind. I suggest the Golden Fox on Master Difficult in King League, because of its Acceleration. Trust me to play with Golden Fox is way more easier strangely
@@MegaBerzelius Well, in general I prefer the Stingray. But when you play on King League on Expert/Master, than I would definitely suggest the fox. 1. On Death Wind 2, the boost arrows are for the stingray too strong, because the stingray has the longest boost on them. The Fox got a very short boost, but this is perfect, because on Death wind 2 there are many corners especially where the boosts are. With the stingray you have to break after you touched the boost arrow and you can make some accidents. 2. The King league in general got many corners and in fire field you have to steer many times, which will make you slower. The acceleration with fox is the best, thats why you dont lose so much speed during the many corners. with stingray you steer and you need so much time to accelerate, this is where I always lost 2 positions each round. You only have to be careful of fox's life bar, which is pretty short. But thats it! Have fun and good luck
U whileing Bro Once u play on Master League At The Start Of Every Race With The StingRay U Have To Burst Out To Let Captain Falcon Bump U So U Can Catch Up To The Golden Fox Ul Never Have To Worry About Finishing Not 1 Lap in 2nd Place Or Further Behind
I played F-Zero very often and was very good at it, Fire Field is simply an unfair track, maybe there is a trick on how to be first everytime but if you play it normally it is basically a luck game.
Death Wind 2 and Firefield on Master are the most intense moments a video game can bring you.
soo many explosions...
I call Fire Field. "HELL" or "ARIZONA" as it's hot as hell there.
port town 2 is really hard as well

Is there any other kind?
yes it was, idk how you made it through that one, good job!!!
I won there too, but with Golden Fox
This game truly is a masterpiece.
Ehhh I wouldn’t go that far…
This game still holds up surprisingly well, don’t get me wrong, but it does have a few issues that bring it down a bit

On the standard difficulty, master difficulty requires some perfect turns and one bump from another ship can set you back quite a lot.

Thanks, but someone had already mentioned this to me. I actually followed this advice in my more recent video of the game, which features all 3 cups.
I’m playing this again on Switch. I may be a filthy casual but the rewind feature makes this game much, MUCH less frustrating.

Excellent classic but cars were always extremely unbalanced. There is never any reason at all to ever pick a different car other than pink.

MrValBar2 It is good for a speed boost if you can actually get the computer to bump into you from behind. I'm not that good at doing it, though.
