- The Yautja society is essentially male-dominated, and naturally, all the Predators that we have ever watched in live-action films have been male. However, there have been many great female Predators who have not only proven their metal time and again, but have become Elite ranked Predators and have led clans of their own. From the Valkyrie Predator and Sister Midnight to Machiko Noguchi and Yaquita, there have been many elegant yet deadly female Predators. However, one among them has a backstory that’s tragic and a life story that’s thrilling. Yes, we are talking about the star of this video, the Big Mama! This great female Predator appeared first in the comic book titled Aliens vs Predator Deadliest of the Species, where she played a very significant role. After a tragic loss, she took help from a woman named Ash Parnall, but even several decades after Ash’s death, she did not forget her friendship! Eventually, when she learned that Ash Parnall has died only in body, she began an epic journey where she faced monsters like a Queen Mother and abominations such as the White Hybrids! If that’s not enough, she is known to have killed greats like Batman, Wolverine, and Cyclops! In this video, we will explore Big Mama’s story arc from the 12-issue comic and tell you everything there is to know about this hulking beast with a motherly side! Let’s begin, shall we?

I can imagine Big Mamma with a commanding voice that demands respect and attention when she walks into a room that can then be soft and tender when she talks about her children and her time with Ash Parnell
Her own people think she's weird because she doesn't hunt humans, she collects studs. She claims it's for breeding purposes. The male hunters question that claim, mostly because of her fan art.

I've only ever had the comic where it ended with the jellyfish and laser sights on Big Mama. I can't believe I'd have to wait til I was forty to finally know the whole story. Now I am complete. I walked all the way downtown to purchase that comic way back in the 90's.

I agree with you one hundred percent. Yautja warriors have absolutely colossal strength, fully on par with xenomorphs and likely even exceeding them overall in terms of sheer brute power. In the novel Predator: Homeworld, it was clearly established that there have been several legendary Yautja warriors through history who have achieved the ultimate feat of slaying a xenomorph weaponless, with their bare hands.
Aight, this is something that bothered me through out the comic, Female Yautja are described as being twice the size of the males(Hence why mating season is a nod to fight club). Yet here it appears she is about the same size maybe a foot taller and a half foot broader, also they are the spiritual leaders of the race; with that said i find big mama to be a cool critter.
From what I've seen, the actual size of female yautja seem inconsistent. I've seen them drawn smaller than the males, the same size, and bigger....I mean, I guess the inconsistencies can be discounted as like how human women vary greatly in height as well.

Maybe instead of a female predator, it's female human who was trained by predators . Maybe it shows her from how she was rescued or picked up as a child and then it skips to her as an adult when she's proving herself as an unblooded predator on a world with humans and aliens and she'll have to make a decision to kill everyone to become a blooded predator or save the humans etc

I wish other writers would study how these female characters are written, they are by far the most interesting characters in this universe.
Dutch in his later years became a Predator Killer, however it was a female Yautja that put him in his place. Killed his elite team and had him dead to rights but let him survive the encounter.

I cant find the source, but, I remember that Yautja are a Matriarchial society. The males are used as hunters to gain honor to please the females. They are larger and stronger than the males. I wish i could find the source, but, it was quite a few years ago. (I think late 90s, early 00s)

It varies greatly from Writer to Writer, but from what I can tell there’s technically two species of Predator, the Yautja and the Hish. I believe the Hish might have the more Matriarchal society, since the Yautja have a Predator King. This is just from what I’ve seen and believe, and it’s just an opinion.

Well, the deadliest of the species is the female Xenomorph, Yautja, or a Japanese girl with enhanced strength, and speed, who needed a stack of C4 to make sure she was taken out.
Now I'm going to be trying to figure out how Big Mama took out Batman, Wolverine, and not surprisingly Cyclops (Who I suspect was taken out first.
I also notice a few other heads on that wall that looked like they belonged to Malice... but which one was it Sue Storm or someone else like Madeline Pryor's since the Malice Entity resided in a chocker?
I'm also left wondering if the Xenomorphs encountered and added the Brood's DNA to their collective during Big Mama's hunt.

I'd say Cyclops and Batman are the easiest to speculate. I'd assume she'd stay cloaked and observe them, seeing Cyclops' main weapon is shooting beams from his eyes, it's easy to assume that she'd just shoot him with a cannon. Same reasoning would go to Batman, with his extensive gadgets, though it's still possible that she was open to challenge him to a melee duel.
Wolverine would be the toughest due to the honor code. With his main weapon being metallic bone claws, it's quite easy to assume it would go down to a contest of blades. Since Wolverine got mounted to the wall, she couldn't have ended Logan without decapitation.

There are so many inconsistencies because probably it should have been a male predator originally. I've read that comic, and I felt like they had to change that "normal" predator to "Big Mama" because at some point the plot started to look ...awkward?

@@samwisegamgee233 No. Species are either sexually dimorphic or not. Sexual dimorphism means one is bigger than the other. Most male spiders are a fraction of the female's size for example. Yautja's aren't sexually dimorphic.

Battling opponents such as Ulysses, (basically heavily armored power loaders designed for combat instead of construction), various genetically augmented superhumans and cyborgs.
As well as other brainwashed Yautja and even an entire hive of Xenomorphs, though a queen was nowhere to be seen.

Wolverine is an expert in jungle guerrilla warfare, his true adamantium claws can cut through almost anything and he would have smelled the female predator from a mile away and add to the fact Wolverine has been shown to lift at least 5 tons (Wolverine has tossed Colossus who weights 500-600 lbs when fully metal).

I’m an unfathomable Wolverine fan but Predator blades are known to cut through anything and they’re space metal have never been named so it could be adamantium or something similar but the way I see it being possible is if She watched him for a while and had a plan of attack that worked, OR she killed him alongside her Clan

The razor whip or Combi stick are good examples but they live super long life spans so even tho Wolverine ages slow an elder predator would have more experience and the entire predator species are hunters and it’s all they do and they fight ferocious 9 feet tall xenomorphs to be INITIATED into a clan

Going strictly by the shown physical attributes seen of the predator in Pray, it's most likely that the predator was male.
I feel like if there is going to be a female predator featured in a movie, it would make sense to add stereotypical female physical traits, such as having a thinner frame with a more curved structure. This doesn't need to be as simple or lazy as having visible breasts, it could be a predator that has a more physically androgenous design.
Females are much bigger and more powerful than males in the Yauja race in the books I've read so it was definitely a male.
