I recommend learning anatomy directly. Using simplifyed shapes is gonna limit you after some while since you wont actually understand how human body works. Start with gesture drawings, then simple bone structures and muscles, once you nailed those, then you start drawing figures and detailed bodies. Very nice art btw it looks like cotton candy :)
remember, your style can vastly change how you draw any body. This should be a quick understanding on how you should do it (also make sure your style captures what you draw to the audience/viewers)
