Another heavily requested Ozzy tune. This has one of Randy's most popular solos - and some absolutely essential riffs. We tried our best to capture the loose multitracking that Rhoads used. That original recording had a huge sound! Also, don’t buy a Randy Rhoads flying V unless you never play sitting down.
Lol yes. I bought a Jackson RR because I love Randy and the look of the guitar. However, it's not comfortable to play sitting down at all. I don't even really like it standing either. I think it's because the body is so small, my hand and arm feel like they have no support. Still pretty to look at it.
I saw the guitar and thought "Dang that's beautiful." I've been looking at Flying V's for the last few weeks, since I have never owned one (only 60+ other guitars). Guess I'll have to go to a store and feel what it's like seated now. Thanks for the advice!

Nice! Great song to do! I remember feeling like learning Diary of a Madman was a benchmark for my playing. Id looooove to see a Badlands / Jake E Lee song!
That’s a tricky one. All I’m doing with my fret hand is pulloffs but I quickly grab the b string and just yank on it. Takes a bit of practice and it’s almost IMPOSSIBLE to get it to sound just like Randy. I always assumed it was a whammy bar but I don’t think they made recessed tremolos back then and also, in a live video of Randy, that’s how he does it! Blew my mind . Such a cool trick
Ya.. at 56 years old I have been playing this track for about 15 seconds into the solo since 1983. Nice work and thanks! I still won't be able to get the whole thing but at least I will know how. 😂
