Great video. I think some of the more well known reviewers could learn a thing or two from this. I've been a fan of co2 guns for a long time (especially cheap Chinese ones - they're so easy to tinker with and improve!) and I'm just about to go for my first pcp rifle. You've convinced me that the Nova Vista is the one for me. I do prefer the look of the synthetic version but based on your (and others) reviews i think I'll get the wood stocked version! Cheers and happy shooting.
I’ll be the 22nd comment. 😊 I think that was a very fair comparison. The one thing you are paying for with the HW110, is its build quality and accuracy, over greater distances. I think even the most basic modern PCP, could hold its own at about 30 yards. Providing it’s shooting the right pellets, for its barrel. The big differences you will find at 50 yards. You will find the HW110, will still perform brilliantly.
Good points there. I'm planning on getting the HW110. I notice you have the updated model as you have the new moderator fitted on the 110. Don't you get a picatinny rail for the under stock in the box? just seems strange as the other 3 110 versions all have it fitted as standard.
Just a random enquiry as I can't find the info anywhere, What is the length of the Alpha action on its own? I.e. out of the stock, just the guts length. Thanks if you can respond. 👍
@@paperballandpentubeThankyou for a swift reply Pal, so it's firmly into bullpup project territory, all reviews point to a good gun but my stock design currently houses a Cp2 and with a 5" moderator/silencer/Shushie attached barely scrapes 27" so it's not much longer and I'm sure a fettle can shorten it if needed, Happy shooting man, have a sub on me. 👍
The hw would be better given it’s price tag but if the nova vista had more time and better components plus the trigger was set to the same as the hw or the owner wanted to upgrade the barrel and tweak the action then you would still be quids in. Ultimately if you don’t have £1000 to spend then you won’t be buying the hw. £300 for a multishot regulated pcp that returns 190 full power shots and hits the target (poorly set up trigger is not an excuse) then how can anyone complain?
@@paperballandpentube Yes, that’s true my friend, soooooo many vids on TH-cam with goods and bads on both. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.
I came to a similar conclusion when I compared my HW100KT and RM8 UC, the HW is just a beautifully engineered bit of kit, the Walther is more agricultural but just as accurate.
@@seanwatling5190 piece of cake, I use a pump too, gets harder as you reach 300 bar and the pump is really hot but if you are fit and have a strong back you'll be fine.
I watched this all the way through, and the first thing I noticed was that you haven’t used the picatinny rail that comes with the HW110. I own the latest version and it does come with the rail. So one point up for the HW110. The second point you made was about the trigger action, saying the HW is sensitive. It is, but you soon get used to it, and like you said, it does move the point of aim when squeezed, compared to the Nova.... I did like your analogy at the end regarding cars, which easily puts the HW ahead of the plastic Nova. 👍🏼

Thanks for watching. Take a look at the Snowpeak M16 (reviewed on AAR) really similar and might be easier to gey hold of.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. No under stock rail in my box sadly, hope you have better luck as it would be useful.
Yes, you do get the picatinny rail with the HW. I purchased mine in January this year and it came with one.

No problem, any excuse to stop work, 30 inches from behind the cocking handle to end of the shroud. Cheers.

Great review Sir, where did you purchase the 110?
Hi it was the guys at Derek Lee Gunsmiths, Lincolnshire. Cheers.
@@paperballandpentube Thanks bud, very enjoyable video, I’m having a similar dilemma on buying a HW110 and a Rotex RM8.

Nice review mate. Thinking of buying the nova vista alpha wood stock seems decent for the price
Good call, the plastic on the NVA is it's biggest let down.
Yea I'm not to keen on the plastic but it looks really nice in the tactical. What's it like to pump up using a hand pump?
