@@RidwanGosal you can’t yell on active play. To be specific, you can’t say, for example, “psst I’m behind” or “Gila pass to me” or simply call names.

There are no eyes on the back of Gilardino's head. So Del Piero must have called him for a pass. For this reason, he was able to pass without looking back.
Del Piero for me was pure love. I can't even explain what happened to me when Del Piero scored this. Thankfully he also followed with a penalty in the finals and they somehow won this. Nobody thought Italy had any chance to win in 2006. This tournament was pure joy. And it was the last great World Cup.
We did great but a lot of credit has to go to Germany for hosting an amazing tournament and it was great to see them come back to life.
Del Piero is my all-time favorite. I cried when he scored this goal. My Juve Fandom was just blossoming at the time.
For me delpiero redeemed Italy after Baggio’s miss that cost them 94 World Cup

I remember that game like it was yesterday. Canavarro set that goal in motion, giving the ball to Totti, Totti to Gilardino, then Del Piero runs up the left flank, calls for the ball and bends it into the top right corner. What an end to a stale mate match in the semi's against Germany in Germany! Italy go on to win the World Cup 🏆🏆🏆🏆 🥳

@@mustafajuventino9964 Lippi actually explained this tactical move, i read it somewhere. he said when the match is prolonged, the midfield build-up play is basically bypassed (because of fatigue, maybe?). the ball is going to be more at one end of the field or the other. so, he decided to pour in the attackers to take advantage of that. that's basically what I remembered.

The desicive pass was given by totti to gilardinho then to del piero. Totti took the ball from cannavaro forcefully. Without tottis innovation, gilardinho s presence and finish of del piero it wouldn't have been possible.
to be fair, Del Piero was already getting old at that time, doubt he could go for 90 minutes

Del Piero's best season was probably 1997-98, before the injury. But it was before my time, i was still a small child.

@@althealieniz5200 not only running...he had just pure dribbling skills as Ronaldo. Both of them could dribble opponents even by standing still. Unlike CR7, we all saw him in Serie A, he almost never dribbled anybody, he can only rely on speed.
Tevez was much more technical than CR7, for example. Anyway I miss champions like Del Piero, Baggio, Ronaldo. The only one who shows crazy dribbling skills today is Messi

I grew up watching almost every weekend serie A during my childhood in the 90s and it was the best thing to watch back then it was the best league with great players and newcomers, always admired Italy squad despite not winning that many tournaments and seeing them win the world cup in 06 as a underdog thanks to most of the guys that came as young guns in the 90s such as Del Piero, Nesta, Inzaghi, Cannavaro, later on Pirlo, and Totti seeing them rise pretty much from the ashes to win the world cup was by far one of many reasons why I love this game unlike others. By the way you can look up in TH-cam full games of great teams like lazio in the late 90s or Parma, or Juve with a young Zidane clashing with Milan or Inter something I still watch to this day thanks to TH-cam.
