Why do people complain (reviews too long) about free content? No one's making you watch it. Personally I enjoy a long, well put together review. Keep 'em coming Nick, your efforts are appreciated.
Nick, don't listen to the others!! I think the length is just fine - it's expected when you're so thorough in your reviews. I think it's unique to this channel and something that most reviewers don't do. I appreciate the attention to detail. Just put time stamp markers and titles so people can just skip to the portions they want to watch. Prob solved bruh!!!!!!!
John C. I totally agree with you John. Whats the point of having a car review if the video is short and the reviewer just talks about the car's colour, the rims, the specs of the car and the video ends. It defeats the purpose of a car "review". Reviews should be thorough and detailed as you mentioned. Fantastic review Nick! Keep up the good work.
Who are these people complaining the reviews are too long? Can they not sit still for 34 minutes? Weak bladder? Either way great to see you back in a Porsche.
No complaints about long reviews from me! There are car guys on youtube who manage to post ten minute videos with Bugattis, Paganis, Lamborghinis and the like, and somehow manage to make them SO BORING. It's incredible. So keep on mate. We already have the five min reviews from the likes of autocar etc. It's good there's something more in depth, laid back and personal out there.
Fab review, thanks. Never had an suv before but wanted something practical but not too boring. After taking a S Diesel out on test about a few weeks ago I placed an order. My first ever brand new car! (not first car, I have had plenty of mundane cars provided by work and also cherish 24 year old Porsche 964) and with the bells and whistles, more money than I ever dreamed of spending on a car. Your review was engaging to watch, about the right length, great detail not included on short reviews and gave me reassurance about money spent wisely. Cant wait to pick mine up from the factory in September :-)
What a pleasure to hear the good music. Crack of dawn here in the north of the UK so am pausing so I can watch the video carefully all the way through after the dogs are sorted.
Yesterday I thought 'Has Mr. Murray done a review on a macan?' When I found out that you uploaded this review I was really happy! It's one of my dream cars.
These cars have proven to be popular in the UK too! Especially the diesels - there is a 2 year waiting list if you want to order one from the factory...
Thanks for this! This car seems to be perfect, sporty behaviour, grand touring ability and can tackle rough terrains too! New Zealand is a gorgeous backdrop too.
Wow, amazing drone shots Nick! New Zealand looks beautiful! Great review of the Macan too, I really like these. If I wanted an SUV this would be my first choice (if I could afford it of course lol).
Please don't make shorter reviews, that's the same as everyone else on TH-cam, I feel it should be longer, I like the intricate details that no one else talks about. i.e. deviated stitching
Awesome review Nick. I have just picked up a 2015 Macan S Diesel and like you I'm blown away. Thanks to your review which gave me so much background on the car. Cant wait to start driving.
Nick, you've outdone yourself on this video! Amazing. Your family's property is absolutely beautiful I'm shocked you could leave such a beautiful place. I would be homesick! I like the rear end of the Macan and yes the tail lights resemble those of the 911. I like that your videos are longer now, I think we get more details and overall a better car review. Great job!!
Great review thanks. I test drove the Macan S Diesel last week and ordered a new one 2 days later, really impressed with it. I will say that in the UK even with the most basic of extras it will push you over £50,000 and if you get anywhere near a little carried away with options it would be very easy to go over £60,000. I am used to an Evogue and the drive and power aren't even comparable.
Hi nick thank you for your great review I'm looking at getting one of these . A 2015 macan s . Driving a 2015 Vw tourage at the moment . So hopefully I'll like it . Had a 997s gen 2 with pdk before .
Thanks for the review Nick. I like the relaxed common man's approach you take with your reviews. Relaxing and informative to watch. Nice drone shot too. I think you need to find a camera assistant to assist :)
Great review! Always enjoy your detail descriptions, so no complaints on the timings side. Also notice the clear change in sound track over previous videos, good stuff. P.s. your parents have great car taste!
Thanks Nick. Great stuff. Please keep your reviews coming. The longer the better. Love the details. Very helpful, if you really want to know about the subject. Nobody else does it that way. Thanks again.
I was lucky to get a chance to go to a manufacturer auto show here where i live and i got to see it in person and i got to sit in it and stuff! Its made with such quality and it's pretty much a smaller cayenne! If i ever have the money i would get one as it just seems more practical than the cayenne to me because of its size.
Amazing review! But that's not new to your channel! Love the macan, probably the only suv I would buy if had money lol. I just tried to do a quick online configuration of a macan diesel (i have probably configurated all the porsche models already just for fun) and from the starting price of 62K euros it jumped to more than 82K and i was still choosing options so I quitted before starting to cry ahah. Love your reviews and love Porsche cars in general.
Great review Nick, As a current (lucky) owner of a Mecan Diesel S I want to give you a big thumbs up for covering the 'glide mode' (coasting function). I use this all the time and it's great fun. I also love the sport mode due to the better throttle response but so wish you could use the glide over-ride (right paddle click) in this mode. My only gripe with the car (after 6 months) is that Porsche allow just about every function to be assigned to the diamond button on the steering wheel....except the 'Sports' button! C'mon Porsche...software upgrade please!! Keep up the good work...and thanks for making me want to go to NZ even more than I already did! :-)
I just drove my first Macan S, what a great car. too bad the porsche options are so fucking expensive on top of an already pretty expensive car, it's amazing how much they charge extra for stuff that is standard in a Lexus.
Just to clarify the Q5 comment. The latest version of quattro torsen system is 60 percent rear bias by default. The haldex based models such as Q3 are more fwd bias. Great video btw.
Enjoyed the review a lot. Per the Q5, I believe that's all the time 60/40 rear/front unless conditions change. Their cars with haldex 5 like the A3 and Q3 are front biased till slippage..
Top review Nick! I ordered one last week after a fantastic test drive. Just watched your video, praying you weren't going to rubbish the Diesel. Cheers!
Nick, what a great review of a superb car. Looking at a used Macan here in the UK especially as you don’t rate the VW Engined 2 litre. Fuel costs in UK are also horrendous now. Thanks for the content 👍
a great review, for enjoyment, how does it compare to the M4? I realise its a completely different car for different purposes. I'm looking at changing my car during the early part of next year and the GTS version is on my options list along with a M4, based in the UK!
Hi Nick ... enjoyed your presentation & Macan review. One footnote .... my 2015 Audi Q5 TDI also has a 60/40 rear wheel bias :) Also awesome to drive , and to my American friends , don't give up on Audi or Porsche diesels...power, torque and fuel economy ...cant be beat. cheers.
Great review Nick =) About the '' Coast Mode '', i dont think it saves gas because now its idling, even if its moving along, its still idling, and it burns small amounts of gas to keep the engine going. But I guess the amounts are a drop in the ocean, and it has stop/start so. Just a thought =) Peace
Great videos. Can you tell me what your using for mics and recording equipment? Every review seems to be using a different set-up....What's working out best for you? Thanks!
Renaissance Man Yes I am still juggling around the recording equipment to improve the sound and video but I record the sound to multiple cameras via external and internal mics and then mix in the ones that sound the best, normally the clip on mic is the clearest.
jonathan pierce I much prefer the Macan because it as close as you can get to an enjoyable drive in an SUV. The Cayenne has more room in the back but otherwise the Macan is just a more modern sporty machine.
Thanks Nick; a great review and lovely car; nicely specced too! Here's an tough question - would you get this or the Cayman S? Very different cars and both very highly rated; both roughly the same price (in the UK). In my case it would be a second car for commuting so needn't be too practical.
Great review! I think you have the best reviews of cars from the perspective of regular people who will be daily driving these cars. I also like the length of your reviews since you fill them with a lot of useful information. I am thinking that my first car purchase will be a Porsche Macan or Cayman. I know this is subjective but if one said that the fun factor of driving a Cayman was 10/10 on a 0 to 10 scale where would you put the Macan on that scale? Thanks!
The Cayman is one of the most balanced sports cars on the road, the Macan is an outstanding SUV but still not a sports car so I would give it a 5/10 next to the Cayman for driving fun. The Macan has many other benefits however.
I love the half hour review format, don't change! If I were a rich man, I'd get one of these for my wife, but I'm not so she'll have to make do with the Corolla. Where are you driving? Looks like Coromandel or maybe Fraklin?

Nick Murray yeah nah. Seriously looked at one of these to replace JGC, but worried about the ability to tow a race car. Heard a few stories suggesting not the best for towing thats all.
It looks good with skid plates and a roof rack for serious off-road looks. And yes, I do hope for the diesel to come to the US. I hope for the base model (the real one, 4-cylinder powered) to come here as well. Next car review should be a Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. 🙂
Why do people complain (reviews too long) about free content? No one's making you watch it. Personally I enjoy a long, well put together review. Keep 'em coming Nick, your efforts are appreciated.
That was outstanding 👏🏻 and I'm juts watching it 9 years later. The ending and the music choice. Excellent!
Makes two of us and now I'm looking at buying one😅😅

Lord Staind +1 to all of this. The longer the better in my eyes, it's a treat to watch these reviews.
Thanks guys, I will keep babbling on... : )
John C. Yep i prefer longer review as well
Who are these people complaining the reviews are too long? Can they not sit still for 34 minutes? Weak bladder? Either way great to see you back in a Porsche.
Best review of the Macan S Diesel I've seen. Thanks for providing such a comprehensive overview.
your videography is eclipsing some "professional" reviewers. great work nick
I've got to say Nick you put a lot of big time reviewers to shame keep up the good work

finally someone good in the youtube car community reviews the Macan in length!
Wow, amazing drone shots Nick! New Zealand looks beautiful! Great review of the Macan too, I really like these. If I wanted an SUV this would be my first choice (if I could afford it of course lol).
subaruwrxfan Thanks Matt. I think Beth would be very happy with the Macan for her birthday!!!

Long live Nick Murray. Off road the Macan. Hell yeah!
Nick, you've outdone yourself on this video! Amazing. Your family's property is absolutely beautiful I'm shocked you could leave such a beautiful place. I would be homesick! Great Review nick ! the image & sound quality keeps getting better and better !
Hi nick thank you for your great review I'm looking at getting one of these . A 2015 macan s . Driving a 2015 Vw tourage at the moment . So hopefully I'll like it . Had a 997s gen 2 with pdk before .
I love these reviews Nick, personal and in detail.
Lovely car. Looking forward to watching this.

Superb, love to know if you can get hold of a Cayenne and see how it compares to the Macan 🚙🤔
Hi Nick, just wondering how many cameras you normally use when making a video?
Very good camera work, Nick.
I really like the air suspension feature on SUVs, I always thought that was pretty cool.
JULEPPS Thanks Jule
Amazing review! But that's not new to your channel! Love the macan, probably the only suv I would buy if had money lol.
I just tried to do a quick online configuration of a macan diesel (i have probably configurated all the porsche models already just for fun) and from the starting price of 62K euros it jumped to more than 82K and i was still choosing options so I quitted before starting to cry ahah.
Love your reviews and love Porsche cars in general.
What camera do you use in outside a car, in far shots? It's some kind of DSLR?
Great review Nick,
As a current (lucky) owner of a Mecan Diesel S I want to give you a big thumbs up for covering the 'glide mode' (coasting function). I use this all the time and it's great fun. What lens is in that drone of yours.
Fantastic video.
Keep up the brilliant work
+Ufuoma Okoro That is jus a go pro 4
Definitely a pro.
Thanks
I just drove my first Macan S, what a great car. too bad the porsche options are so fucking expensive on top of an already pretty expensive car, it's amazing how much they charge extra for stuff that is standard in a Lexus.

Thanks Nick best review about the Macan, appreciated.
My 2007 328xi has that downhill feature, it's helped plenty!
Wow love the new videos! You're really stepping it up on the production value haha
Great review Nick. Looking forward to your Turbo review and what you think about the extra hp......
oh and by the way, i personally like the long videos you make.
Good review. Please review the new MB S550 sedan and BMW 650i coupe. Thanks.
Enjoyed the review a lot.
Per the Q5, I believe that's all the time 60/40 rear/front unless conditions change.
Their cars with haldex 5 like the A3 and Q3 are front biased till slippage..
How is rear seat room in this car? Does a 6 foot adult fit comfortably?
Which one is better Macan or Cayenne?
Hey Nick: If you had to choose between the Macan and your M4, which would it be?
Hi Nick ... enjoyed your presentation & Macan review. One footnote .... my 2015 Audi Q5 TDI also has a 60/40 rear wheel bias :) Also awesome to drive , and to my American friends , don't give up on Audi or Porsche diesels...power, torque and fuel economy ...cant be beat. cheers.
Starring out the window at the Macan Turbo at work and I have to agree they are great looking cars!!
Time to get one for the wife Zarnetske
Then that means I get a Rogue, and I'm not sure what's worse, the Mazda Porno or the Rogue...
Awesome little SUV. New Zealand looks crazy beautiful also.
New Zeeland has most beautiful sceneries in the world.
Hi nick, I thought you said that the Burmester system in your 911 are not even as good as the $900 Harman Kardon system on your M4?
WENTON SHADY The HK in my M4 loader and gives all around sound but the Burmester was crisper if that makes any sense : )
I want that SUV with the diesel engine! Do you know when they will be available in the U.S?
What is the engine noise like? Does it sound like a diesel or is it something that you can ignore?
Nice review!! Definitely will be taking this for a test drive soon.
How is the market share in New Zealand for diesel/gasoline cars?
And the diesel vs gasoline price at the gas station?
:)
Best video yet nick, good job!
Its a bit odd watching at 60 fps sometimes, but your videos are great and I really like how in depth your reviews are!!
Awesome review as usual. While the downhill braking feature is useful on an SUV I never understood why I have it on my 3 series sedan (with XDrive)
Very nice review, beautiful car and country! Good to watch this!
Your reviews are not too long, but it's thorough !
Love your reviews Nick....great job Nick !!
you say this one is the better one.. but you havent test driven the others yet.. how does that work?
I have driven the others I talked about here just not reviewed them
Fantastic review Nick ! Congratulations !!
15:54 it puts the sport suspension into the hardest mode. Are you sure about this?
Great videos. Can you tell me what your using for mics and recording equipment? Every review seems to be using a different set-up....What's working out best for you? Thanks!
Renaissance Man Yes I am still juggling around the recording equipment to improve the sound and video but I record the sound to multiple cameras via external and internal mics and then mix in the ones that sound the best, normally the clip on mic is the clearest.
Nick Murray Thanks for the quick reply. Have you found a specific lav mic that works best?
Nick what are your thoughts on getting the macan or Cayenne which do you prefer and why
jonathan pierce I much prefer the Macan because it as close as you can get to an enjoyable drive in an SUV. The Cayenne has more room in the back but otherwise the Macan is just a more modern sporty machine.
Great cartoons in between the parts, love them. Do you make them yourself?
Brilliant. Best review yet.
Nick great review as always, do you think more money could be saved by getting an SQ5 for similar specs and level of comfort/sport as the Macan?
I see the towing setup, how much can it tow?
Good choice of music Nick "The marriage of Murray"
BTW. NZ looks exactly like Norn Iron!
Thanks Nick; a great review and lovely car; nicely specced too!
Here's an tough question - would you get this or the Cayman S? Very different cars and both very highly rated; both roughly the same price (in the UK). In my case it would be a second car for commuting so needn't be too practical.
Hey Nick! Great review, I love your reviews, I always watch them been a sub since you bought your M4 ! Is that your mums car?
Thanks Nathan, yes it is
So Nick here's a question... What would you choose, your current M3 or a Porsche Macan?
BigTime Posters I would only want an SUV as a second car as much as I like this one.
Nick, this car is a nice upgrade for farm equipment. Keep up with your excellent humor, even if i don't like all your videos.
I appreciate the fact that your significantly criticized reviews are long.
What's the difference between the Macan and the Chayenne? They look very similar.
The Macan is smaller (and better looking)
***** I like the Cayenne looks more tho, also the Cayenne is MUCH more luxurious than the Macan !
Where in NZ are you? Looks brilliant
BMW X4 35d oder Macan S Diesel, Nick?
Hans Klostermann I'm a BMW fan, but the X4 is completely pointless
Daniels30 of course it is but a Macan S which costs about as much as a BMW M3 is not?
Great review! I think you have the best reviews of cars from the perspective of regular people who will be daily driving these cars. I also like the length of your reviews since you fill them with a lot of useful information. I am thinking that my first car purchase will be a Porsche Macan or Cayman. The Cayman is one of the most balanced sports cars on the road, the Macan is an outstanding SUV but still not a sports car so I would give it a 5/10 next to the Cayman for driving fun. The Macan has many other benefits however.
Nick Murray Thanks for letting me know. I'm looking forward to your Porsche Macan Turbo review later in the year!
you love buttons because you're a pilot. same thing with me. btw, what kind of drone do you use? maybe do a review sometimes later?
drummerlauw DJI phantom II
I love the half hour review format, don't change!
If I were a rich man, I'd get one of these for my wife, but I'm not so she'll have to make do with the Corolla.
Where are you driving? Looks like Coromandel or maybe Fraklin?
Can you review a Mini Cooper clubman s also a 2015 Mini Cooper
Hi Nick, thank you for your review and I bought the car that on your review with love from NZ
How cool! Hope you enjoy it!
The main point I take from this review is that Margie isn't into deviated stitching. And those roads have really changed since we rode them on Chris' 100cc shitbike & Reade's XL125!
Clayfiish Good you got the point of the video : )
Nick, tell me about that watch?! It looks nice.
It's a tissot T touch
my father has the exact same car, same color and wheels, pasm, sport chrono and cool diff. fantastic car.
When you put it in to off-road mode does it really put it into the hardest suspension mode?
Yes, if it wafted on standard air then you would ground out on large bumps. Keeping it stiff gives better durability over severe off road terrain.
Is that the Luxury Car Tax, that Australia has too?
Cars overall have much bigger taxes in NZ, and Europe, even taxes regarding the engine size.
ShadowNeo07 Unlike what he says, there is nothing "eyewatering" about the New Zealand price; Wiki says that NZ prices already include VAT, while that is not the case in the US, so actually, the car is the same price, if not slightly cheaper in NZ:
www.xe.com/currencyconverter/convert/?Amount=54000&From=USD&To=NZD
love the long reviews!
Another great review Nick!! Glad I found this one. Question is this the
diesel that failed the EPA tests because of VW cheating. And would
you still recommend it? Perhaps you should do more reviews in New Zealand.
I enjoyed every minute of your review and not just the car but the local area itself.
It looks like a beautiful country.
+Bruce Mitton I don't think these engines will be effected, all the 6cyl engines seem to be fine. I will do more reviews when I am back in NZ next
What's the PDK like for towing?
Are you thinking of getting a horse Iain?
Nick Murray yeah nah. Seriously looked at one of these to replace JGC, but worried about the ability to tow a race car. Heard a few stories suggesting not the best for towing thats all.
It looks good with skid plates and a roof rack for serious off-road looks. And yes, I do hope for the diesel to come to the US. I hope for the base model (the real one, 4-cylinder powered) to come here as well. Next car review should be a Chevrolet Colorado Duramax diesel. 🙂
Nice video Nick - love the shots of Mangawhai at the beginning! Great surf spot. Oh yeah the Macan looks nice too ;)
Is it automatic of manual
