You’re videos have been super helpful! I’m building a custom front intercooler setup for my 2016 Veloster turbo and there’s no way I would have even thought about doing it if it wasn’t for your in depth videos allowing me to understand what all is involved.
I wonder if that front mount intercooler kit for the Veloster would also fit in my 2015 Kia forte5 SX with the 1.6 turbocharged engine. They're both the same Motors and I'm pretty sure some of the parts are plug-in play
Love your videos very informative since I've never worked on a turbo. Quick question, should there be oil in the intercooler? I pulled the hose off and oil poured out but i noticed in the video that yours was dry. Appreciate any info. Thanks!
Hey I have a 2017 vt turbo I currently have on a AEM CAI I was wondering what would happen to the return hose that is connected to the stock recirculating valve on the stock intercooler that goes to the intake after installation a FMIC?
should be possible, but you'd need to buy the intercooler, turbo manifold, intake manifold and a new DP. it would honestly just be better to upgrade to the turbo version of the car if you wanna spend that much money on it.
Looks like regular turbo headlights...all you gotta do is take the actual headlights apart from the clear cover and then take off those parts you want to paint and then put it all back together
I know easier said than done. I did with my friends headlights about a year ago and from what I can remember is you'll 100% need a heat gun and a flat head or something...you have to de-glue the cover and it. Is. A. Bitch. To get off 😂 after that, it's pretty easy I think its like 6 tiny little screws that hold the painted piece on and you just take it off and paint it but make sure you sand it as best you can and that sucks too because it's got ridges the whole way around. All in all took us like an hour each just trying to get them apart and after that it was pretty self explanatory...hope this helps!!
Canadianbacon_ 312 we will surely do a video on one as soon as we get a car for an install. We might have a ES coming soon that we can show the process. It’s not to bad and takes about 3 hours
The only time I ever installed an aftermarket intercooler was on my ST and it was simple. Remove bumper , remover intercooler and Hoses , install new intercooler and Hoses , reinstall bumper. This is so much extra steps just to get the new intercooler on. I remember that job took me about 2 hrs , this would probably take 3-4 hrs without a powertool. Is it really worth the minimal power gain to have lower iat?
Joshuackerman yeah we installed a few at kits. So easy!!! Some of these cars are running a Big turbos so yeah they kits are worth it. We also run the K03 turbos at 30psi so heat becomes an issue at that point😂
This one is the standard core. The difference between the standard and the upgraded cores is one row. So the standard core has the a top and bottom row that is 1/2 the size of the middle rows. The upgraded cores have full size rows from top to bottom which equate to 1 full extra row. Power or performance wise its not much of a difference from what we have seen
Dillon Miller hey there.. install the cold pipe on the TB side first. Then swing the ic into the coupler on the bottom, then mount the ic... hope that helps!
@@KDMTUNERS I tried that the cuplings I got for it that came with the kit from the TB side the cuplings wont go on I had to boil it in hot water what is a easier way to get the cuplings on the TB side to the intercooler because the cupling seemed to small it but everything else was fine I was up until 9 this morning trying to put it on and I got it on but barely on and cant get it on any further and dont really want to try because I'm afraid it will pop off
Dillon Miller if you have a 60mm Tb the couplets they send are a nightmare to get on.. but it will go on. I’m not sure which size couple you will need for the 60mm we always were able to stretch it
@@KDMTUNERS the one to the TB wasnt bad It was the one that went from the pipe to the intercooler the angle of it i couldn't press hard enough to get it on really good because in the video you had that angle cuppling on that pipe when you put the intercooler in that cuppling that is the one that is going me the most trouble because it's not going on all the way so I was wondering if they was anyway to make it easier to get it on there I heated it up because it seemed just alil to small and took a small pry bar to pry it on it but got it on the pipe and intercooler but just good enough to clamp it down is there any tricks to make the cuplings alot easier to get on and actually put them all the way on
I was going to try to send a screenshot of the video but it's at 16:17 is the cupling that I'm having the issue with is just getting it on the pipe the TB cuppling is fine just the one that goes on that pipe to the intercooler is my issue

39:17 THE FOG LIGHT! DON'T FORGET THE FOG LIGHT!!
Nice job, very clean install.
Thank you and glad to have you watching with us!
also I know some of us would like to see a carbon cleaning or at the minimum an intake manifold removal...
David Santiago great idea!!! I’ll add that to our list of upcoming videos thank you!!
Nice job man! Personally would not want to attempt that myself yet. Loved seeing it done though for future plans.
did a custom kit myself honestly wasn't bad at ALL. one of the easier big jobs ive done on a car

Good job guys... Enjoyed the video
I have a 2017 hyundai santa fe sport 2.0 turbo, do you need to tune it if I replace the intercooler with a bigger one like the one you installed?
Should I upgrade to a cone filter with a steel pipe before doing the intercooler?
did you reinstall the cold air intake?
Does anyone know the specs of the bolt at 37:13 ?? I tried a bunch of different sizes but couldn't get a good fit.
How do you install a Mac electronic boost control solenoid? Thanks
did you get the upgraded core or the standard? and does it matter if i have a different bov on my car? or should i get the one on the website?

Could you put a turbo on a 2013 veloster non turbo
should be possible, but you'd need to buy the intercooler, turbo manifold, intake manifold and a new DP. it would honestly just be better to upgrade to the turbo version of the car if you wanna spend that much money on it.
Would this kit fits a 2016 kia forte5 sx hatchback? They got same engine.
Do you have install any intercooler for kia optima sx turbo it look it have the same engine
I’m asking cuz I’m confused. What is making the whistle sound at the end 39:50. Is it the turbo or is the Intercooler doing that 😭
Hey josh, curious as to how the Tork Motorsports FMIC would compare to the 3 you’ve installed so far. Hopefully you do a video on it sometime. Cheers!
omg what kind of headlights are those or what has been done to them?

Can you make a video on how to install your upgraded stock turbo? I’m just curious on the process, I’m about to buy one and want to do it myself :)

Any idea where to find a kit that would work with a kia rio 2018 1.0 l i3 turbo engine?
nice vid
I said hairspray too! Jinx.
I wonder if they'll make one for the ES
Yeah I’m not sure about that. I know Sxth Element makes a nice ES kit currently
have you installed these on a forte? curious to know if the massaged ac lines has to happen for all installations
David Santiago we actually did and I don’t remember the lines being an issue on the forte!
Why in the world are the hose clamps not very tight. The ones on my elantra sport arent tight either. Figured i'd blow them off as loose as they are
Is this the standard core or upgraded core do u no the difference between the 2

I’m curious of what your rough estimate on whp gain would be pretune?
Swift_Society that’s tough... I really don’t know but your butt dyno will feel it for sure!
I'm having issues with getting the coupler onto the cold pipe. What would you recomend to do
