- When life gives you lemons, make a big batch of lemon cupcakes!! These are one of my favorite cupcake recipes, I love the fluffy, moist crumb with that lemony frosting. Each bite is perfect. They MELT IN YOUR MOUTH and just have an amazing lemon flavor I know you'll love. I decorated them two ways, with a nice traditional dollop and an easy piped butterrcream lemon weddger. Let me know which you like best!

I love how he doesn’t edit into his videos if he makes a mistake, that makes us more confident, and not afraid from it not working.

i just wanted to pop on here to say that i've made these multiple times and they always turn out AMAZING!! if you're on the fence about trying these, just do it. They're totally worth it

I usually always eat my cupcakes as a "sandwich." It stops me from opening my mouth real wide, LOL.
Me too!!!! I live in UK and have never seen this done before. I am going to make a batch of these bad boys tomorrow. I'm thinking of scooping out the middle with apple corer, filling it with Preppy Lemon Curd and topping with buttercream...... Ooooo they sound so delish and I haven't even weighed out the ingredients yet... I will let you know how I get on. xx

My grandmother has a giant lemon tree and every time we bring so many full bags of lemons home. We have lemon stuff for days and coincidentally my dad went over there about a week ago and brought home 2 big bags full of lemons so this is perfect!

Made this on Sunday, and the cupcakes turned out awesome! The smell and taste were perfect - just the right amount of lemon and sweetness. You could honestly even skip the butter cream part and eat it as is - that’s how good the cupcakes are. Thanks for making another fool proof recipe John 👏 👏

I tried baking this yesterday it's so delicious. Thank you for the recipe, I didn't have sour cream so replaced yoghurt as you mentioned.
After trying 3 different recipes for margarita cupcakes I found this! I used lime and orange zest and lime juice instead of lemon. These were THE BEST and so easy! Also, I brushed them with tequila while warm. Heavenly with lime/tequila buttercream frosting.
Sounds perfect! Gotta try your idea!

Made them yesterday and these are the best lemon cupcakes ever. I cored the center and added lemon curd and substituted the buttercream with heavy cream and instant lemon pudding. Was amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Wow!!! 2 hours later and I've come back to say OMG these are delicious! I subbed the sour cream for homemade vegan yogurt, used an egg replacer, soy milk and vegan butter. Also used self rising cause I didnt have ap and left out the rising agents.
I've never made cupcakes from scratch but these are honestly the best cupcakes I ever had. 😭
They are so soft and didnt stick to the paper. The yogurt gives them a pleasant twang almost like cheesecake. I could go on and on but I'll stop now. Lol
Oh! And I did cook them an extra 3 min. Just to be sure the egg replacer held together.

Just tried this recipe and it’s really good! My cakes didn’t come out as yellow as yours for some reason, so they look more like vanilla cupcakes but they taste great 👍
You can add a tiny bit of turmeric or food colouring for additional color

I made your apple pie the other night (we didn't bother with the latticing haha sorry!) although we called it a Flapple Pie as we didn't have enough apples to fill the pie dish so it ended up being pretty flat, the filling was absolutely delicious and something I'm definitely going to practice and perfect if I can. Thank you so much John for teaching me to make a good apple pie filling after years of trying and failing!

Made your lemon cupcakes - shared one with my husband - ahhhhmaaaazing! We're taking the rest to my brother's Social Distancing B-day Party this evening...
