@@smokewrenchgarage5420 I had NGK V-power GR4 plugs in for like 10 years. Couple years ago I switched to Autolite 3924 plugs. Made no difference in the 1/4 mile, but the 3924s are a 5/8 hex plug. Easier to get a socket on cylinder 5 and 7 depending on what headers you have.
Pretty cool! You gave me an idea of what my Scamp might do at a track. It's been 30 years since I took a car down the track, and that was only 1 time for a bet. Thanks for the video! Can't wait to see you in Sikeston!
Just subbed ya.. glad to see yet another Mopar man jump in to the NNN scene. I dont know how it happened but the NNN is definitely Mopar heavy compared to most events. See ya in sikeston👊
Sweet ride Brother. Gotta get my Mustang ready for Jr Stock this year. Maybe I can join you at US 60 soon. If not, I will see you at the Nonamenationals. I am in Louisville.
the sound so familiar I got sucked into the 440 performance idea number sounds cool 440 big block 440 yds 1/4 mile torque flite trans all sounds like speed BUT not my experience a ford windsor in a 68 mustang was quicker the difference being watching the tach for the shift point the 440 gives you lots of time the windsor you had to pay attention
1/8 mile 7.06 @ 96ish mph was the best I could get, it was losing time somewhere in the driveline, probably needed more cam/converter maybe a 28” tire would have helped but in my opinion with it should have been in the high 6’s with that 96 mph but I ran out of time and the engine got pulled and car got sold. Thx for watching.
I'm on a 28in rear tire, the last time I weighed my car it was 3025 with me in it, flash around 3600 to 3800 rpm. It has a solid isky mega cam 505 lift, First time out with new build third pass it went 10.98 1/4 & 6.96 1/8 in really bad air
@@Hoss-q8p the converter was a big hang up with that duster and by the time I figured out the best way to drive it, we ran out of season but those numbers your puttin out ain’t bad at all!!
My 1st car a 73 duster slant 6 weak as hell but 1 great running car probly most dependable car ever never had any issue cheap on ⛽ 2 they just so dam ugly.
She sings a sweet song. Thanks for the melody. 4.56 gears oh my. She's a well sorted machine.
Thanks!!!
Nice! I’m a small block guy but those 440s are torque monsters. Thanks for the ride along. Can’t wait to see the Dart sport back at the track.
Thx brother. It won’t be long, April 1st
I’ve been meaning to ask you what spark plugs do you run in your yellow duster?

Thanks, I hope we make it and side note drag racing is addictive you might not want to stop racing after NNN’s!!!
Thanks for the mention. You gotta lot of track experience for sure. Lets get you to 500!
Thx for all your help & advice with the channel brother!!!
Awesome footage.
Thx brother!!!
I love Dusters as drag cars. I always miss my old '71. And my '72 has been too long in progress! Keep it up!
Thanks. Time flys by so fast that one day turns into 5yrs on Jack stands and your like what the hell happened!!!
Big fun!😁😁
Thanks DAMNIT!!!
@@smokewrenchgarage5420 🤣🤣🤣

It was, I had a blast racing it

Thx brother!!!
wow, nice runs, on that track. hope you get 6s soon enough. would thought the 440 would run up to 6200
Just wasn’t enough cam & converter to do the job!!!

I don't understand 1/8 mile 6.99 ?

What heads ? Nevermind. You sold it.
What are you going to do now?
@@Moparmaga-1 pretty sure they were 906 cast heads, pretty stockish stuff.
Can you tell me about your engine combo
It was a 30 over 440, 509 hydro cam, H-beam rods, close chamber iron heads, mopar m1 intake, 2”spacer & 850 Holley. Best I can remember
That's basically the same combo I'm running except I have out of the box rpm heads and 410 rear

Yep that was the happy spot for that setup, (509 cam) if I went higher it slowed the car down.
