I dont understand the academy hate going on, all I see is that we have to kick the ever living *beep* out of the aliens until they learn to respect us as equals.

@Canaris3 hmmmmmm they actually are the best people, they actually understand why the aliens are doing what they are, and have the best ending of not declaring a war on a civilisation that has psychotic levels of technology with no plan for what happens after the war
But yea at the start their naivety is really stupid. People shooting at you dont get a written response asking them to stop

Oww I’m gonna watch this. I’m on my third campaign, failed both. First time the aliens basically took over earth before I knew what was happening. The 2nd time I was having none of that and nuked them on their arrival. They did not like that and went absolute terror, raining missiles and bombardments throughout the solar system.
Such an awesome complex game. Don’t cheat!

I think the crackdown event should effect half your control cap rather than half your control points to reduce rng
If you have a bunch of cracked down points in a huge country you should be able to defend then early game
And it might let you use this to decommission a bunch of nukes before your points come back

I can't wait for somebody to find some weird exploit where you run events sideways and just completely skip the anti-academy events

I managed to increase science enough as the academy to take over all 3 science slots before deep sky got chosen
So I could go quite far into the game before ever getting the event and I got to choose when. But sadly the tech is required so I could not avoid it completely.

Awesome job with your commentary, Defran. Believe going for Taiwan is problematic with taking China, though.

Let's see if you can bear Corliss who did a brutal academy run and succeeded . I will enjoy your run anyway good luck

Grabbing Taiwan when you want China is a bad idea, the control points you gain in Taiwan reduce your chance in China. Would ve been better to grab the bordering -stans and other brodering nations, then abandon them when you have the big prize. Still, will be following this campaign, good luck.

you are totally correct not sure how that slipped my mind, i think its cause i didnt see the negative on the list and just assumed it wasnt an issue.
taiwan is a rival of china so yes it causes this :) thanks for pointing it out because i would of forgot

Its only a marginal difficulty adjustment. .5 or .75 difficulty adjustment? You can't grab china unless you have a meaningful number of adjacent nations and have completed multiple public campaigns, by the time that rolls around, the .5 difficulty adjustment doesn't really matter that much. And it gives you nice research and probably spoils income in the meantime.

I'd love to see a beeline african union run from somebody. Grab like Japan and South Korea and just grind out unity movements and great nations so you can get african union, then use japan's as a military power to conquer africa. United africa is like 1.5 billion people and grows comparable to india once it is unified and gets going imho. And you can build MC Similar to like the EU.

    • @DefranStrategy

I like the idea because I feel africa is definitely underutilized however the big issue am thinking about with it is research i feel your gonna be quite low on research points no?

@@jiiaga5017 i guess but the question then becomes where do you get your boost income?

    • @jiiaga5017
      @jiiaga5017 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DefranStrategy new zealand and israel both start with space, egypt starts close to space, the entire middle east can slam through a space program really quickly. Taiwan is close to space, japan has a space program, I think korea is close to space, and Iran might start fairly close? There are plenty of places you can get boost income early, and if it means you are challenged more getting to places like the moon or mars... that's good! Honestly, the AI doesn't prioritize nuclear freighters, so even starting with zero boost income and having to build your own from scratch you can likely beat any AI to mars simply on the back of prioritizing nuclear freighters and the cheaper atmospheric boost techs, which like halve your boost costs.

@@jiiaga5017 I guess but i still feel super insecure doing this kinda play as an idea, il give it some more thought its definitely an interesting route and id imagine you could get africa relatively uncontested
