  • The Power Aero certainly lives up to its name. The sleek two-tone finish oozes quality and contains the very latest engineering and gearing technology to match the dedicated modern-day anglers needs. It has been built to be able to persevere in the most demanding environments and keeps on performing when exposed to the elements
    • SHIMANO’S toughest, most powerful long range reel
    • Compact aluminium HAGANE BODY for maximum durability in extreme conditions
    • INFINITY DRIVE for increased cranking efficiency and RIGID CAST for improved casting
The Power Aero is available in three large 14000 sized models. If you are a carp or specimen angler the Power Aero XTC has a dark stealth-like colouration that is sure to appeal to you. Alternatively the Power Aero XSC has a silver colouration more favoured by surfcasting anglers and is available in two variants. The standard XSC version has a 4.3:1 gear ratio, which retrieves a massive 103cm of line per handle turn, giving you awesome speed when you need it most. The ‘Power Gear’ PGXSC version has a slower 3.5:1 high torque gear ratio making it perfect for playing outsized fish or applying the ultimate in constant cranking pressure.
Available in 14000 size, weighing 500g, 8/1 ball bearings.

Add these features to the 5000 and 5500 reels, especially the Bairunner, as it offers much more safety when catching the fish and is much more efficient than setting the front brake every time after casting.
Medium Baitrunner 5500 reels brought you success, and these 14000 reels will bring you defeat

Finally 3.5 ratio for surfcasting ! Would be perfect if it would come with 3500 & 6000 size spools, 14000 is useless for surfcasting and reducers add unneeded extra weight. Please reduce the weight of the spools too, for that price you can achieve much lighter spools and sell more of them ! Cheers

Reducers weight less than line backing. If you have 3500 size spool, you cant use your reel for anything else than competitions. With 14000 and different reducers, you can fut the reel to your needs

@@vatrenakokos in surfcasting competitions, nylons from 0.12-0.20 are generally used so yes 3500 is a good spool size also used by Shimano XSD Competition and XSE competition. Regardless of Line backing or reducers, it is an extra weight for 14000 size that noone needs in surfcasting hence the recommandation of 3500 and 6000 LIGHT spools (40-60g)

@@yasaki-tournament xsd 14000 is 585 grams, xsd 3500 comp is 610 grams. It comes to about same weight if not less when you put reducer on 1400 size

@@vatrenakokos The main idea is to release a model with 3.5 ratio and light weight spools in size 3500 and 6000 size. Current spools are bulky and not usable.

I personally used to be a Shimano fan, but as soon as Shimano discontinued the Medium Baitrunner Ci4 XTR-A LC reels I switched to the Daiwa Basia Tournament 45 SCW QD.
It is a much superior reel than Shimano's reels. Much more compact, much lighter and much better performing than AT MGS and Power Aero, especially the fast brake.
This 14000 spool will be the point that will put an end to Shimano reels.
No one is looking for big and heavy reels, and day by day all Shimano fans are turning to Daiwa.
The Big Pit division are disgusting cranes and extremely uncomfortable to use, and that 14000 spool is pointless.
I think less and you will make a chassis instead of rods and with that you have put an end to your evolution.
All the anglers from Europe especially from UK only use Daiwa, because they like compact but high-performance reels, which Shimano cannot offer.
Try to improve the reels from 4000 to 5500 Long Cast, with Baitrunner and quick brake, because they are competent in any category of fishing, to resist on the market, otherwise Shimano will remain only a memory in fishing for carp, catfish and others.

As you seem knowledgeable on high end big pits reels If price wasn't the issue and it was for a special present for my son. Who already has his break down stalkers kit and a set of 12 ft Diawa whispers, with a pair of £150 shimanos. What big pit real would you recommend for ultimut distance. Is I intend for him to put them on his 12ft wispers and then upgrade the rods to 13ft in the future I'm not a fisherman, so any advice would be good.
I have read that the 2020 power Aero had a plasticity front. But I don;''t know if this or even a later model is any better, so anything you know would be good to hear.
