    Lileep and Cradily are based on crinoids, also known as sea lilies, which you can see in their names. They might not be actual plants, but they’re kinda close. Their fossils are very recognizable. Long stems with little fronds at the end, you know the exact shape of the Pokémon.

      Like Relicanth & Genesect, while Carbink has never been lumped with the true fossils, the dex entries have said that it sleeps deep underground for 100 of millions years & is spotted within cave diggings from time to time.

    39:44 Maybe this isn’t said outright and it’s only a theory, but there is like, a science group in the Crown Tundra and I think that they seem to have been releasing Fossil Pokemon they had been reviving.

    33:45 -ish
    Dusty, the reason the Crown tundra is overrun with Fossil Pokémon, definitely has more to do with the fact somebody-*cough* Cara Liss *cough* - was constantly reviving fossil Pokemon to the point they escaped into the wild, and we needed up with Jurassic (Pokemon) World, before the actual Jurassic World Series got there.

    I love dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures, so when I heard about Fossil Pokemon, I was immediately in love. My favorite Rock type is actually a Fossil. Tyrantrum. The T. Rex is my favorite dinosaur, Dragon is my favorite type and it’s a reddish color with orange accents. It’s too perfect. I was really hoping you new fossils in SV, kinda. I don’t know if I really thought about it. It wasn’t until a little while after that I actually realized that there were no fossils lol.

    29:00 I will actually push back on Aerodactyl being Dragon type. If the Mega is closer to the true Aerodactyl, then it probably actually was Rock type. And I feel similarly with Craniodos. It’s pure Rock type, which makes men think it’s supposed to be Rock type. Bastiodon might only be Steel type and the Rock type isn’t necessary on it.

  • @michaeltran4275
    @michaeltran4275 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hot take:
    All Fossil Pokémon should get a Cross-Generation Evolution Stage as well as the Regional Variants’ Forms
    Aerodactyl also should also get the Cross-Generation Evolution Stage(s) and Regional Variants’ Forms in case if Mega Evolution is somehow barred and denied from returning back to the role of being a playable battle gimmick mechanic tactic again

    19:25 Amaura and Aurorus are based on the Amargasaurus. A type of long neck/sauropod that had long spines on their neck. We haven’t been sure if they were actually fans or spikes, but I think we can say fan, but like one fan not two.

    Lilieep is based off a ancient animal not a plant, AI Overview
    Learn more…Opens in new tab

    The Pokémon Lileep is based on crinoids, soft-bodied animals with spiky bodies and radial symmetry that resemble flowers. Crinoids are grouped with starfish and sea urchins under the phylum Echinodermata. Many crinoids are immobile, like Lileep, but some living crinoids, called feather stars, can swim freely

    I have actually had an idea for a game, maybe like a Legends style game, where your player character is sent back to prehistoric times where there’s all living Fossil Pokemon and you have to craft Pokeballs from Apricorns. And maybe you can choose certain Pokémon to ride like in Let’s Go. I would be all over that.

    15:13 Erm actually, lol. Pterosaur, flying reptile. Not technically a dinosaur. Craniodos and Shieldon are the first proper dinosaur Fossils. I’m sure I didn’t actually need to say it.
    Edit: Okay, yeah, lol. You guys knew. The difference is just body structure and genetics. Dinosaurs are all more similar to each other than they are to pterosaurs.

    20:16 y’all do realize that dinosaurs are a taxonomic group of real animals that existed in real life right? The reason y pterosaurs, and plesiosaur, and mosasaurs r not dinosaurs is that they r just genetically, taxonomically not dinosaurs. It’s that simple. Crocodilians r more closely related to dinosaurs than any of those other animals r, so if u count pterosaurs, and plesiosaurs, and mosasaurs as dinosaurs, then u definitely also have to count the crocodilians too. In fact, by that logic, all reptiles are dinosaurs. Dinosaurs aren’t just a bunch of toy monsters that we played with as kids, they were real animals. And the specificity of calling something a dinosaur is just how paleontologist and biologist taxonomically keep track of how these animals are related to each other. It’s really not that complicated lol.

  • @cameronkoehlke2253
    @cameronkoehlke2253 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What if theorizing that the de-fossilization process is imperfect, we think more like what is actually true in the real world:
    Creatures started as more cephalopod, shellfish, and nautiluses, slowly evolved over time into creatures like shieldon and tyrunt, then into formes like Arceops, slowly turning into the animals we know more and more today.

  • @CapnAnime
    @CapnAnime 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The bone wars were in the US and it was between 2 paleontologists.

    • @CapnAnime
      @CapnAnime 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the reason behind the amalgamation was because the paleontologists, Cope and Marsh, were in such a rush to name new species to destroy the other that they just named every single bone a new dinosaur, and they even sent their assistants to each other's dig sites to destroy fossils.
      This went on for a whole decade before Cope up 'n died on the streets with not a cent and Marsh cruelly, I kid you not, took Cope's spine as a trophy.
      They named a whole lotta famous species, like Allosaurus, Brontosaurus (yeah this is valid now), Ceratosaurus, Diplodocus, Dimetrodon, and Uintatherium.
      (Sorry if I got the roles of the 2 wrong, I can never remember who did what only who was there and what happened.)

    There are like 2 definitions of dinosaur out there. The scientific definition of it being apart of Dinosauria like how crocodiles and alligators are apart Crocodilia, and the definition of a dinosaur being just any prehistoric reptile. I disagree with wanting to just call them all dinosaurs but I dont understand getting mad about it.
