- First held in 1922, the Cookstown 100 is the oldest Irish road race still held today. The 2.1 mile Orritor circuit has been raced since 2000 and is a fan favourite venue, which is bound to attract a record crowd.

dead and gone now, all racing in Ireland and Northern Ireland has been cancelled due to excessive insurance costs, total disgrace and a massive revenue lose for both countries.

Something about the commentary is soo routine and drab that it takes away from rather than adds to the awesome spectacle that road racing really is. I accept that commentating is a fairly specialised job but maybe it's time that more RR enthuastiasts were allowed and encouraged to try their hand at it?

All except for the fact that Northern Ireland is British. British roads, British laws. British road racing!
Except its not allowed on open roads anywhere else in Britain so its Irish road racing.
@@Rhythm24inch except these roads were built with British tax payers, and are under British law. Oh, and the whole of Northern Ireland is British!
@@John8_43-44 it's under British rule, correct. My tax definitely didn't pay for their roads though and as its in N. Ireland exclusively I'd guess its just referred to as Irish road racing so it narrows down where it actually takes place, no?
Just like the Isle of Man is part Britain but its not called the British TT is it?
