Thanks for your comment and question. In theory the seated curls might be better for hypertrophy as they challenge the hamstrings more in their lengthened range compared to the lying curls. I recommend trying both, incorporating both/rotating them depending on your overall programme and other lower body exercises you have planned. Hope that helps.
