I love how, if you have subs on and watch the section of cutting, it states that there's "Music" and "applause." So not only did you compose a masterpiece, you got a standing ovation. Good job you.

I only had to do this once, but I learned the hard way that it takes a TON of elbow grease, most of an afternoon, and a sharp knife and occasional hammer to cut one by hand. Now I have 47 simi truck tires that have to be cross cut in half... at 72 I may not live long enough! . Looking for a better way. But really enjoyed your video and the "sexy" elbow shot! LOL

I use a dual saw. It's great, but you definitely need to concentrate & have full situational awareness when using it. You can dismember, gut, or otherwise maim yourself and/or someone else, if you're not careful!
I used one to cut old steel & iron pipes out of a house to make room for copper water pipes & PVC sewer pipes, & it cut through the old steel & iron in a jiffy. I now use one to cut old tires into chunks to use as TDR, Tire Derived Fuel, mixed in with the coal in my furnace. It's much quicker than using a grinder.

So cutting a tire and a half makes it easier to put in a black plastic bag and to ship it via a large truck that has a compactor on the back

If you want to cut a tire for disposal use a utility knife to cut the walls off first. The remaining is easy to cut. Best advice is to start with a grinder and cut the part where the wall was cut towards the thread. Always wear safety glasses, gloves and an apron to protect from the rubber psalter, if it’s too hot it will stick to anything. If you want to save your grinder wheel, after you get to the thread use a reciprocating saw with a strong blade that cuts through metal. Diablo makes the best do not use a wood saw that can cut through nails, use a saw that can cut through metal. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I do! I have several I just want to cut in half but not the way he did. I want two u’s left to shape into borders for projects. What’s best? Especially on a very limited budget.

Oh yes. I just wish the second blade hadn't broken off at the end. I was going to see how it cut at 10x the normal RPM.

Going to make something over on the NelsonStudios channel and the electric knife idea was such a total failure it became clear this was a bluesmoke kind of job. All will be reviled when I can figure out the details.
