    Once again, perfect job, Mark. Thank you. This is my favourite we play with the band. Greetings from Frankfurt/Germany. You definitely deserve more clicks.

      Wow, thank you so much!! It's a great song and solo. Of course Clapton never would have played it the same way twice, but it's a good one to learn. His bends and vibrato are just so perfect on so many songs off of Disraeli Gears. Thanks for watching and for the support!

      @@MarkZabel You are right. I made up my own version of the solo 40 years ago by listening to the LP over and over again. Of course its not like the original, but it sounds Clapton-like enough for me. Anyway, its fun playing, that is what counts. Looking forward to your next videos. Keep on rocking.

    Good Job. It doesn't sound like a tough solo, but it is, because of the timing.. and you nailed it..

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! And you're right. It sounds easy, but Clapton is always deceptively difficult. The phrasing, timing, and especially his vibrato are tough to get close. Thanks again!

      Dear Mark, thank you so much for answering! This is the link to version I asked to you. Guitar solo starts a 3:22 . By then, EC was playing at his best! The way he begins the solo is amazing, full of energy, quite different to the original studio version you taught us, who is more soft and tender... I hope you find time to publish. Anyway, thank you for considering it! Warmest regards

    Hello
    Very efficient, I love how in depth it is
    I have trouble, among other things, with picking especially I think, so I wanted to ask whether you had any tips on how you do it or if you have a lesson on this topic. Thank you again for the lesson!

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I mostly play with alternate picking (up/down) with very rare exceptions and don't usually think about it much. I don't have any video exercises, but it's about time that I put a few together. Thanks for the suggestion!!

    Love your stuff! One question though: I'm a bit new to this and don't understand why the "12" is in parenthesis in measure 15. Could you explain? Thanks!

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It's a ghost note. So you finger the note and pick it, but it's strongly muted. Not really a big deal either way. If you listen to the song you'll hear it. That's the best way to use tab - listen to the song (or demo here, but the song is best) a few times then listen to it while looking at the tab. Again, after doing that a few times, pick up the guitar and give it a try. If you do that you'll improve by leaps and bounds.

    How are you liking that Chapman guitar Mark? Looks pretty nice.

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm actually really enjoying it. Just a few things; quite light compared to a Les Paul, Good/great neck; good fretwork; super-comfortable rounded fretboard; excellent access to upper frets (great heel joint - and cutaway cuts like a PRS), comfortable contoured body, vintage-sounding pickups (not too hot), good coil split.
      The only thing I really need to adjust to is how it appears on camera. That white color is really bright!

    • @MarkZabel
      @MarkZabel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the suggestion. I have thought about, but I actually believe it's counterproductive to learning how to the learning process. If you're an advanced player only trying to learn quickly it's okay. But if you're a learning player, the act of listening and trying to remember phrases rather than read tab is more conducive to learning.
      I understand why people like it though. And mine is not the only opinion on this. So thanks for listening and commenting!
