Fabulous bag sweetie. love the front of it. this bag is not for the novice bag maker. very detailed but great instruction. but this bag makes me realize there are so many ways to make a handbag. it all depends on what you want in it.

Lady, you toot toot all you want! you slayed this video and this pattern! it’s amazing and you’re right. I haven’t seen anything quite like it. I’ve been trying to do weaving patterns for quite a while cause I’d love one of the quilt guys I follow and it’s just really I did one in the hoop pattern with some weaving, but not like you did with the Slots it’s very clever and the video your description is just on point great job overall

This is really a beautifully unique bag! I consider myself a “confident beginner” moving towards “slightly intermediate” bag maker, but I think I can make this bag. Your tutorial is easy to follow, so I’ll keep you with me while I attempt it😂. I recently purchased a Scan and Cut so the .svg files are a Godsend!

Not tiny and not like carrying a suitcase either😂 I use both a Cricut and also the Scan N Cut, love that you have patterns that good use of those machines. Wow, I was mesmerized from the start!! I am in the middle of another bag right now and was having trouble with the bottom shape, which is like this one. I'm taking your advice and gluing down the edges, so it appears nicely on the exterior.

As a beginner, it's normal to feel challenged by more advanced designs, but keep practicing and learning, and soon enough, you'll be able to tackle them with confidence. I'm sure this pattern will be a great challenge for you. However, enjoying the process of growth and improvement will always be rewarding!

That is GORGEOUS!!!! I would do something different with the grommets. I wouldn’t trust that TBar. I would do another circle connector to the chain. It would work its way out on me. I’m too rough.

Ooooooooo.... I'm trying to crochet some bags but still haven't found really what I want. I can't wait to try this. TH-cam's algorithms are something else because the perfect stuff keeps popping up. Sub for sure. You said so many versions... what if you make the woven decorative bands snap-in or somehow removeable? Then you can make endless strips of different color, patterns, even material... faux scales, suede, even oooo ... I can crochet straps also. I have so many gorgeous, satiny yarns. Definitely making this. The pattern's a steal. I can't wait to start
Haha! I'm glad my video found you. I used to crochet when I was younger, but only went as far as making cubes or circles 🤣. I will be very interested to see what you create. Regarding the decorative bands or Contrast Strips, I'm not sure about them being removable, but you can definitely make a blank canvas without the woven features and have only a plain front and back exterior Or, as you stated before, do a color block situation with the Contrast Strips. However, have fun with it, and I'm glad you found something inspirational to get those creative juices flowing. Have fun!

This bag is awesome. I have to say I am a bit intimidated when thinking about making it. I want to add strap connectors instead of Tbars. Do I use the same template to connect those as you did for the side? And you said to add these before you drop in the lining. and do the connectors just go through the exterior fabric? And do you recommend cork or faux leather? Thank you!!
Thank you very much! The template can be used for the grommets and strap anchors as a placement guide. The strap anchors will be installed through the exterior fabric only before you drop in the lining. Both fabric mediums will work well for this bag. Thank you! At times, my needle will be gummy. However, I clean off the residue with an alcohol wipe or use Sewer's Aid on the needle to prevent buildup.

Gorgeous bag, just purchased the pattern. I was wondering if you could clarify the size of the screw in grommets. You mention 1/2” in the pattern and in the video, but in the products featured above, you mention 25mm grommets which are 1”? Not sure what size I really need.

This is a fantastic video, I have purchased the pattern, and I cannot wait to get started. How come your Decoville light stays in place all the time, even when you turn the bag? Mine always comes away at the edges, as does the Decoville heavy, do you have any tips to help with this ? Thanks
I'm pleased that you enjoyed the video! I'd be happy to assist you with your Decovil issue. One effective approach is to ensure that you maintain a firm and consistent hand when placing the Decovil. Personally, I utilize a steam press for my applications to guarantee satisfactory adhesion. You can also a heat press, as well. Another useful tip is to apply a small dot of fabric glue to the edge of the Decovil before placing it, as this will help keep it in place or from lifting from the edge. Additionally, it's important to allow the pieces to cool flat for approximately 30 minutes to ensure that the adhesive sets properly. I hope these suggestions prove helpful to you.

Hi. My standard Teflon foot came with my leather kit when I purchased the machine. My additional compensating feet are from Cutex Sewing Supplies. I hope this helps!

What machine are you using?
Hi, Christine. I sew with my Janome HD9.
OMG. I wish the step of marking the grommet holes had come before the exterior bag was put together. If it had, I would have noticed I had sewn one of the panel strips in the wrong place before I had the exterior sewn together. Also, I'm going to mark the placement of the strips on the front pattern piece and so I can transfer the marks to my fabric and not make this error again. I think I'm going to have to start over as I'm not sure the vinyl I'm using will survive be taken apart and resign. It's taking all my self control not to throw it on the floor and stomp on it right now.😧
Hi, Monique. I'm very sorry that you encountered your mistake later in the process. One rule of thumb that is written in my pattern and highly encouraged is that you take the time to read the instructions completely before you start working on your project. Hopefully, you are able to salvage your work. Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
@@Cherelleleronpatterns Thanks Cherelle. I did proceed with the error and I’m probably the only one who will notice it. I love the bag. In fact I’m in the process of making two more but I enlarged the pattern 15%. I also lengthened the handles so they are comfortable shoulder straps and eliminated the cross body strap.
