@@GMGD37 If it happens, there is a good chance that they'll give the player a chance to save Naida as a secret. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time - in another SRW (can't remember which one) they had Rubina herself join as the default pilot of the Double Spacer, and it wasn't even a secret event... the princess of Vega simply switched sides and got a brand new pilot outfit out of the deal. Then again, when you have lots and lots of powerful friends, a happy ending is kind of easier to obtain - twice so if they know how to relate to you.
The old version is better. The drawings are more natural, soft, expressive and detailed. The new version just gives me coldness. And let's not talk about the music...
In Italy we are big fan of Grendizer, the first anime arrived in our country. I prefer the character designs of Shingo Araki and Kazuo Komatsubara from 1975 but I have to say that I find the Grendizer mecha much superior in this new version. Duke Fleed was more handsome and charming in 1975 but I prefer the thinner eyebrows of this new one. Naida is always beautiful and elegant in both versions. Initially I was a little skeptical about this new series but I have to change my mind because it is really pleasant and honors the original one.
the new one just doesn't hit as hard, but then again people saw it when they were younger and it was impactful for its time and this is just a modern re-take of it which is why it just doesn't hit as hard
I actually just saw the original this year, and I almost cried. I know I'm one person, but I can't be the only one...? I'm having a hard time with the lack of pacing in the reboot.
I would have to say the original episode is more dramatic just look at the scene when Duke goes into psychic shock and sees the Saucer beasts as innocent Fleedians killed by him. The remake is not excellent but not terrible either but the new show has a serious issue with pacing.
Tbh i agree especially in the spacing part But about this ep not at all it had some really great additions and dramatic scenes such as the past between naida, duke and rubina, the fact that she is her maid give naida another layer of depth and has to say they finished the episode in a better way too, not to forget the idea that duke is blaming himself for the fleed's catastrophe gave us a better conversation between duke fleed and naida than the old version, i even like how he concluded it with "i am guilty so i have to repent for my crime that why i should live" it's so emotional and very right .
I was only able to watch all 74 eps this year. Every time the Vegans used one of Duke's friends against him, and he had to watch them die, I almost cried, and I'm nearing 50. With this ep, because of the pacing of practically everything, I barely had time to latch on to the characters as they're depicted here, much less have an emotional response to anything. The original series did a good job of showing us how damaged Duke was from the war on his planet and how lonely he felt on earth. This new series seems to be having difficulties with that.

I generally don't think the art style compares well to the original. But somehow they made Naida look very good. I like her art style as well as the original Naida. In some shots even better.
This is mostly aimed first & foremost at the KSA market they will probably bother later if they does financially well (merchandise wise ) outside of that don't expect much with this particular IP in general.
I was born in 1997 and just like my parents who grew up watching grendizer I did the same, the arabic version kept almost everything the same as the japanese the opening was dubbed word by word which I recommend people to listen to, there's something about 70s 80s and 90s animated series that makes me go back to them they make you care about the characters so much.
Poor Naida. 😢 0:39 so afraid and lonely. I swear that Kasado can just go eat a rusty hinge after this. I guess the lesson is to show that everyone is special in their own way. Naida was sadly a victim of 'strong rules the weak'. She was always a floormat for a dickweed who abuses their power just because they can. It's Duke that showed some care to her and that she meant something special to someone. Also the character designer for the new one did character designs for various Gainax classics including Evangelion and Nadia Blue water.

I just finished watching the 'U' version and compared to the original, they upped the tragedy. Good they didn't operate in Naida in U because I'm sure that would have broke the pacing of the episode and give her more agency in breaking the brainwashing on her own.
Nadia n'a pas le même statut que dans l'ancien animé. Dans la nouvelle version, elle est juste une suivante pour la princesse Robina ,et Duke n'a aucun sentiment amoureux pour elle.

アレはあの時代だから赦された桜多吾作先生の暴走が産んだ漫画版からの逆輸入。そもそもオリジナルにはそんな設定は無いし、ギルギルが弟だという話自体がナイーダが聞かされた嘘である可能性もあるのだが、そこに関する掘り下げは一切無く翌週からもデュークは平気で戦って倒している。現代で製作されているダイザーＵではソレは赦されないのだから変えられるべくして変わったポイントだ。
新作と旧作を比べると、「目」ですかね。新作は作画的には綺麗なんですけど、「目に力がこもってない」。
旧作は「目が生きて」いて、すごく引き込まれます。
ネットで散々笑われてたデュークのギターは旧作のオマージュだったのね
Naida is the most beautiful and elegant female character in Grendizer series. The 1975 Duke Fleed is much cooler and more gorgeous than the new one.
Both versions are good, thought some stylization choices of the original were more of my preferences, its still a very beautiful moment.
