My favorite concerto of all and she plays it better than any other I ever heard, and there very few recordings out there. And why I wonder it is as great as the first?
Wonderful!! This was the very first recording of the Tchaik2 I ever bought, more than 50 years ago. It's still one of my favorite versions. Thanks much for this.☺
Not only was this the very first recording of the Tchaik2 I ever bought, way back in the 50s, but, IIRC, this was also the very first recording of the "complete" Concerto--no cuts.☺
heads and shoulders above any modern interpretation; sorry Denis Matsuev, but there is a particular idea behind Tatiana, that no amount of fentanyl, cocaine, social media 'high' or internet hype can surpass.... that is a very, very true to score interpretation, above
the first time here we hear the entire 2nd movement..including te violin-and cello-solo's, why, in other performances, the coupures? it's a crime! The music is so beautiful, as we can hear ... The same crime is committed often at the end of the Manfred-symphony, why?
I am agree with you! It's an original version of Tchaikovsky, unfortunately now all playing with cuts in 2nd mow. also,he cut a huge and wonderful episode Piu mosso ( in H-moll )beautiful solo of piano, and also there cadences for violin and cello...
Amazing interpretation of this concert in the gm key which was prefered by Tschaikovskys idol Mozart. Yet the main theme is closer to Schumann. Tatiana plays it very masculin, romantic without becoming sentimental. It becomes evident that the 2. tschaikovsky is a by far better composition than the overrated & overplayed first one.

Great upload. Nicolayevna's playing is beautiful.
First time to hear Tatiana Nikolayeva, and far surpassed my expectations. Recording is superlative; orchestra, too. Thank you.
Only Tchaikovsky! This is pure genius.
& Nikolay Anosov is remarkable conductor! Great accompanist with his wonderful orchestra!!!

Intéressant de le savoir. Merci.

Is the stellar solo violinist from the second movement Zoria Shikhmurzayeva? It certainly sounds like her!
B.Moribel violin, Lev Berezovsky cello. Moribel was a veteran. Berezovsky gave premiere of Prokofiev Cello Concerto.
