I was a Flight Engineer on the P3 for 10 years, and I made flash cards with index cards for everything...esp pwr sources. I had stacks of them. It made learning it all VERY quick...repetition works every time.
My older brother was in VP-10 when they transitioned from P-2Vs to P-3s. I worked on P3s in VP-23, I got out and had my own small plane within 10 years.
Great.....Now I know WAY TOO much about the P3. I'm a recip FE for cryn out loud......bleed air??? we dont need no stinkn bleed air!!!! But seriously, great video Jeff. Well thought out and very informative
I remember hearing those terms as an avionics tech. I few years after I got out I worked at P&WA assembling JT8s&JT9s for a few years and learned all about the workings of an axial flow turbine engine.
@ 14:00 - The wheel right next to the power levers is for manual trim. The "yoyo" looking handle right in front of it is your landing gear handle. - AE2 (AW) w/ 8 years of P-3 experience. I loved that bird.

You can never know enough about the P-3!!! That's why the upgrade boards are 6 hours long (terrible). Thanks for the compliment.

Copilot pitot heat is FEAC/28v FLB. Not MEAC...
Pilots please know this for your 2p check but please don't touch anything. Ask your flight engineer...
