    One thing you didn't discuss is overheating, which is relevant considering we need to place these in a housing of some sort to protect it on the floor of a golf simulator, and housings restrict natural air flow to keep the projectors cool. I recently bought the 1080 for my garage simulator, built a custom housing for it with TONS of airflow, and it still started overheating and ultimately shut itself down in my garage at only about 75 degrees in the garage, and no sunlight on it. Everything I've read says the laser projectors produce significantly less heat than those with a lamp, and for that reason, I'm returning it and purchasing the 1090. For anyone reading this... The 1080 is also REALLY bad with even a little ambient light. Even a few garage windows will make it so that you can hardly see the projection at all. Like the video says, if you cant get perfect lighting in your space, go with the brighter projector. Thanks for the video!

      Great points! With our projector enclosures, we have never had overheating issues. But we are also working in climate controlled showroom.

    Are there true native 4K 60p (or 120p) with 3D support? (and with size not like a little fridge)

    Wish you would have increased the brightness and saturation on the lamp to get a far comparison

    I have the 1080 HDR. I'm trying to figure out why my image is uneven. Meaning the top is not straight it's pushing up in the center.

      Hello! Is your 1080HDR centered on the screen horizontally?

    I think both support 3D stereo with glasses, did you try it?

      Hey! Great questions. We did not try it with 3D glasses.

    What software were you running and what course was that? Really impressive.

      GSPro software! We don't remember the course, just randomly picked one! Sorry!

    I am trying to calibrate my GT1090HDR. May I know what's your settings?

    • @CarlsPlace
      @CarlsPlace  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! For these tests, we just used the default settings out of the box on the projectors. You can use a test image similar to the one we use to try to focus and match the computer monitor as close as you can. It looks like there might be some calibration software that could help, but we don't have experience with them so we cannot comment!

      Kyle, are you asking what the brightness measurement would be if the GT1080HDR was 70 inches from the screen?

    Do not buy optoma projector. It has a poor quality in a daytime. I bought in October but had to replace it. Carls doesn’t accept return.

    • @SrChalice
      @SrChalice ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You did the right thing the optoma can't even hold the 120hz signal. I've tried 2 of the 1080 HDR and they cut out all the time.
