I made my brother listen to Armata Strigoi (Studio Version) and he liked it a lot. Then I was in the shower, Spotify playlist playing with the speaker, and Armata Strigoi starts playing, but it's the live version this time. When I got out of the shower, my brother asked me "Was that a Live performance? Man, they sound the same. Wait, even better!". I know my brother, I know.
I wish they’d cross the pond and tour North America. I’d love to see the, live. Attila’s voice is amazing live, no tricks or crazy processing, just good old fashioned singing, like Dio and Plant, he just wails Metal. I’m a 59 year old classic rock guitarist, but this is one modern metal group I really like. They play metal just like it was in its infancy. No speed contest, where every song in endless double bass until the songs have no beat at all. I really like the way these guys play and their song writing is also incredible. Great melodic structure to the music and the vocal melodies are very catchy. That’s good song writing. Attila has a really cool style using the operatic voice on the Latin verses and a bad ass metal vocal for the rest. I just wish they’d come to America because I don’t see me going over to Germany anytime soon.

I'm an old rock guy from the era of ironmaiden, ozzy, Metallica, twisted sisters and so on but this group is amazingly good and as I readt in another comment from life to video there is no difference he has a strong voice and a good show man, also shows that he loves his fans. Keep it up Powerwolf you're a great team.
I’m an even older fart than you are. I grew up on Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, UFO and Judas Priest. I was also into progressive rock , like Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and the most progressive of them all, Rush. I also liked groups like Iron Maiden and Metallica, who would come along later. I like Powerwolf. They’re one of the few newer metal bands who have that same energy as the old school metal. They have great melodies to their vocals and powerful guitars. I like Attila Dorn’s vocals especially. He sings more like the old school rock singers, like Robert Plant, Ronnie James Dio, Ian Gillan and Geoff Tate. You know, that kind of powerhouse voice that’s in your face. I can’t get into the growling and roaring kind of vocals in most metal today. I guess I’m just old school and like some melody with my music, no matter what genre. This is why I have never gotten into hip hop or rap music, there is a beat, but no melody. The Beatles are one of the top selling bands, even to this day, because they were so good at writing fantastic melodies that were very catchy. I like songs that have both a great beat and an awesome melody. That’s why I can’t get into all of that growling. When I first saw a Powerwolf video a few years ago, I think it was Amen And Attack, I was watching the intro and see all the makeup and theatrics and instantly thought, here comes the growling vocals, but was taken back when Attila began to actually sing…. Not only was he singing, rather than growling, but he began singing in an operatic style making the whole thing feel rather German, almost like what Wagner might have wrote, if he lived today. Attila has a very distinct style of singing. He goes from a gritty, raspy metal voice into an operatic vocal, back and forth. He is unmistakable in his presence. I haven’t seen a vocalist like him in a long time. I’m happy to know there is another old school metal person who also finds Powerwolf to be worthy of the old school guys who made metal what it finally became. They were the pioneers or fore fathers of what heavy metal is today. I just wish more of the metal bands coming out of Scandinavia had lead singers who could belt like singers used to and give up on all of that growling. Well, it is what it is, and old school people like us are pretty set in our ways. I believe I have a very open mind for a guy of 62. I am a musician myself and played guitar in metal and progressive bands. I found Powerwolf while searching for some new metal. Sabaton is also very good and I like some songs from Turisas and a few others, so I don’t think that I’m that closed minded, I just can’t find that gargling and growling a pleasant experience. Discovered this band, due to a random asking me to play "In the Name of God" on my phone earlier this year (2022). This is now one of my top 3 favourite bands - up there with Judas, Manowar, Sabaton etc. Hearing Amen & Attack live, the crowd, the energy...wow!

Somehow, late in 2019, i am only just properly listening to powerwolf. I heard amaranthe's cover of army of the night and read that powerwolf did the original. Gave it a try and havn't looked back!! I love incense and iron!
I've been checking out power metal bands lately. clicked on this video and I watched all the way through totally amazed at the awesomeness that i just witnessed.
I've never seen a front man or woman interact so much with the audience. Clearly he's funny cause the crowd laughs a lot. Wish I knew what he was saying. I love Powerwolf.
My favourite is probably around 22:05 where he says that "we're not only here to celebrate the holy mass, but to sin aswell. Those who have never sinned in their whole live shall throw a plushie" then they look around and attila says "aha! we're all sinners". Just seconds after u can see a plushie thrown in the crowd and he responds with "someone threw a plushie, you're out!" and laughs😅

Germany is the best place for festivals. In Costa Rica we only get the "big" bands like Metallica or Maiden. But bands like Powerwolf, the Vision Bleak, Tribulation, will never come here. I will need to check which will be the best festival this year and try to go there.

Ganz gleich ob man ihre Musik mag oder nicht, man muss einfach zugeben, dass sie so eine sympathische, energiegeladene Truppe sind, die sich bei jedem Auftritt voll reinhängt und es schafft, das Publikum immer in ihre Shows mit einzubeziehen. Als Außenstehender kann man es ja auf den ersten Blick und vor allem bei dem Make-Up schon mal mit der Angst zu tun bekommen, da viele Black Metal-Bands sich ähnlich präsentieren. Aber bei Powerwolf merkt man live und in Interviews sofort, dass sie, im Gegensatz zu diesen bierernsten Black Metal-Bands, auf dem Boden geblieben sind und mit Spaß und Feuereifer dabei sind

Somehow, late in 2019, i am only just properly listening to powerwolf. I heard amaranthe's cover of army of the night and read that powerwolf did the original. Gave it a try and havn't looked back!! I love incense and iron!

I've been checking out power metal bands lately. clicked on this video and I watched all the way through totally amazed at the awesomeness that i just witnessed.
I've never seen a front man or woman interact so much with the audience. Clearly he's funny cause the crowd laughs a lot. Wish I knew what he was saying. I love Powerwolf.
My favourite is probably around 22:05 where he says that "we're not only here to celebrate the holy mass, but to sin aswell. Those who have never sinned in their whole live shall throw a plushie" then they look around and attila says "aha! we're all sinners". Just seconds after u can see a plushie thrown in the crowd and he responds with "someone threw a plushie, you're out!" and laughs😅

Amazing, amazing. Watched Powerwolf in Rio this year, and the venue was small, but they're as awesome as in a huge venue. Amazing band. Can't wait for another show!

Germany is the best place for festivals. In Costa Rica we only get the "big" bands like Metallica or Maiden. But bands like Powerwolf, the Vision Bleak, Tribulation, will never come here. I will need to check which will be the best festival this year and try to go there.
