www.datacenterscanada.com - SIMPLE explanation of how the internet really works. Understand networks, inter-networks, data packets, peering and internet exchanges.
best internet description so far, and for yo who are wondering how the devices connect, imagine if everyone in the world had blutooth on, there would almost always be someone to connect to, that is what the entire worlds computers are doing. And to get information you simply would connect from phone to phone until you find one with the info you need.
This video doesn't consider the *physical* layer that makes up the internet. Miles of copper wires and undersea cables are responsible for making this physical connection. If you were to cut major undersea cables that connect the U.S. with Europe, for example, the capacity of the North American network to Europe (and vice versa) gets cut by a large amount, enough to overflow remaining network pathways. Eventually if you cut enough cables you can pretty much shutdown internet access for entire regions. Also, inland ISPs depend on a series of backbone networks that serve as large hubs/conduits to other connected networks. Cut those out and you also begin disturbing traffic for entire regions. The internet is anything but decentralized.
Hi cool.... would u pleas say how internet or data produce? That mean we can produce power or electric through power-plant by coal, water, solar. Then what is the procedure of making internet or data... waiting to hear from u or others. Thanks..
Thank you for sharing this great and informative video. This video excellent for everyone who likes to learn about internet. Please make sure you make more videos like that. :)
if an Internet protocol needs to be added then the provider a should be connected to the provider b at the Internet exchange. so, they should be connected to every provider present in the Internet exchange...................?
Wait, so if more and more data is flowing through 'internet exchange points', doesn't that make it less decentralized? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
i have question what is(internet) and why it cost (it is a thing) we really don't know but it is a (thing) where is internet came from is there any mine like coal, metal or we make internet like electricity it is a thing we know like pc , electricity or someting have mass and how mobile network provider internet cost us money and they need to buy internet in GB,TB or bites
It's worth every one to know how Internet connects you with others. It is an amazing continues process beyond our imaginations. It is intelligence that take the US to cosmic heights is the future. Bon Voyage Internet.
you know in that old disney movie Up Up and Away and those people are distributing a mind control software to schools or s/t I feel like I just watched a video from that software
the internet works based upon the connection between computers. your computer sends requests for data from google or facebook servers and the servers of facebook and google sed back the data packets to your computer allowing your browswer to display their website and use it. much like making phone calls to your freinds.
This video doesn't answer my question , anyone in the comments please tell me, my question is where does the internet come from? companies like Verizon offer internet but where does it come from ? do they have special machines for it or something please explain anyone?
After watching this vid, I'm confident I can fully remember what the narrator just told me. yeah right she was beginning to sound like Charlie Brown's teacher.
Mobile internet comes from providers, the video just showed you how the IX connects all providers togheter, and getting a signal on your phone is not a problem with few mobile antennas across the country, i dont really know what you mean by "where does it come from", it comes from all of us, all us users intagled in a web aka the network, sharing data...
So why do i have to use an Internet provider that promises a certain speed at a high price, and then doesn't even meet those speeds(fraud). Why do i have to use a provider?

Now, tell me how would the internet traffic would go from node to another node if there is no exchange of money?
Internet means interconnected networks. In other words, networks connected to other networks but with ISP's.
the internet works based upon the connection between computers. your computer sends requests for data from google or facebook servers and the servers of facebook and google sed back the data packets to your computer allowing your browswer to display their website and use it. much like making phone calls to your freinds.
