After various attempts to rectify the issue, I resigned myself to live with it. So I began making a ready reckoner Table to calibrate displayed Speed/Distance Vs. actual Speed/Distance. For this purpose, I spent an hour calibrating the actual speeds at each setting and tabulated the results. I plotted the actual vs. displayed results on a graph and found the curve to be linear in both cases, but different by a constant slope. Using elementary trigonemetry and algebra, I found the equations for the two straight lines. As observed earlier, the two lines different by a constant slope. And today morning while I was walking on the treadmill, it suddenly occured to me that the difference factor was almost the same as the conversion factor between miles and kms !! Excited, I stopped the machine, and tried various cominations of pressing the SET/RESET/MODE buttons before I finally hit upon the right combo that reset the readings to KM from MILES. So now everything is hoity-toity again.. and I can see that the displayed and actual values are almost same !! So what must have happened before was, unknowingly by pressing some combination of buttons, me or my wife must have reset the units from KMS to MILES !!
Wow, what a great informative video! You explained everything so well. I am a 69 y/o female and my treadmill would speed up when I turned it on. I considered throwing it out, but this information was so helpful that I might try replacing the speed sensor and fixing it myself. Thank you so much.
great video. I have a treadmill which seems to start up ok but when I run for sometime at above 10km/h it will I think stop for a milisecond (hardly notice it stop) except that it makes you stumble. Wonder is this the speed sensor or a heat protector sensor ?
Great video! May I ask you what will happen if when the magnetic is broken ? My treadmill starts and then stops after 1 second and the switch circuit breaker goes off....
Very informative. I decided to dust inside my TM today, and sprayed some WD44 around near the roller bearings at the ends. After putting back everything, noticed TM wan't showing correct speed. After checking your video, I could identify my speed sensor easily - its a rectangular piece. I wiped it clean and put it back again, but still the speed is wrong. The TM speed was correct until I fiddled. Wonder what's the problem..
I have a horizon t101 and the belt stopped I did a test on the Motor and the ohms are spot-on and the motor turns connecting it to a battery. I have 3-5 v on the panel to the speed sensor, it is a three-wire speed sensor. I hear the clicking right before the motor is supposed to turn but it doesn't. The panel reads fine, what else could it be
Hi Sir, I have my traidmipl in my inslated garage, just a few weeks ago I noticed that my traidmill goes on full speed when I switch it on. I am. It sure if it the sensor, could it be the motherboard of it down. Cuz I noticed when I am on the traidmipl running for more than an 1hr I smell little funny smell. In your opinion is my traidmill is not repairable?!thank you in advance
Cleaning circuit board and motor fan blades and coils with compressed air, dry (no condensed water vapor droplets), medium pressure 40-80 psi could help with not burning dust on it as it heats up. But the load might be too much for the motor, insulation could be slowly melting. Keeping it dust-free definitely helps with keeping it cool and melting further.
@@mohammedshafi4887 I suppose it should be in your troubleshooting section of the user guide? on mine, an E03 means that there is no speed feedback from the motor even though the system is powering the motor. Check your speed sensor.

Realy appreciate this. Was just about to throw out my treadmill & then you explained what, how, why and where. Thank You problem fixed !
Glad it helped!
What was the problem?
Doesn't matter what it is, I'm always finding my self drawn to these videos of yours

Placement, alignment and distance are critical. Fiddle with it, see if it gets better.
@@theoverengineer Thanks. I did try, but doesn't seem to make any difference. Fact is, speed is now displayed exactly 33% less.
@@SrinivasRaghavan Wow, almost as if it was displaying in MPH instead of KPH now!
Excellent

Do treadmill run if speed sensor is broken? I have a gold gym 450 and motor is fine but it wont run but inclination motor is fine.

hi...I'm Diego from Italy. ..is possible to invert the polarity of the speed sensor? can it work? thank you.
Hello, I have a device that separates after two seconds but it does not turn off the electricity. Please help me to give me the holidays. Thank you.
does anyone know what is a magnetic sensor in a treadmill for? should i buy a treadmill that has a missing magnetic sensor?
Same as this speed sensor. It's a safety device, it may work without it

Did you ever find out why it did this? Mine is also going to max speed when turned on.
When I turn on my machine it spins at full speed.
The speed does not decrease.
What to do.plss
Same this happened to me then I tried fixing it and it completely turned off
My machine error is showing 4 (over current) how can I remove this fault

I have a T360 and when I turn it on it runs for few seconds and it stops and shows Error L5, what does that mean?
Ask the manufacturer, then share it with us all.
visit my channel its error LS not L5 which means low speed
