      Which plugin is your favourite? 😃

    • @JorisDM
      @JorisDM ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in a tough decision with my setup.
      I've been using a hardware distortion pedal into a clean amp from Bias AMP. Even though it doesn't sound phenomenal, it's a sound I'm used to and every one of these amps sounds off to me. However I know it's likely just habit, so I hope I'll get used to finding an amp doing all the work (more flexibility).
      So if I have a ranking of these, it might be Rabea and Nolly (with some highs boosted) on top.
      I'm really thinking about the Tim Henson though, I think the multivoicer would be great to incorporate.
      The internet is raving about the Gojira one. I'm currently using the demo and I'm doubtful. It feels too aggressive even with the gain low. Do you have any thoughts on that?

    • @vanenev333

      @@JorisDM Im a big fan of the Gojira plugin. I think its almost like the nolly plugin but better for me personally. Its really versatile!
      Tim henson’s multivoicer is cool but you gotta figure out a way to use it creatively otherwise it’s just like a toy to have fun with.
      Thats all my opinion, don’t take my words for your final decision! Every single plugin has 14 days trial period which i strongly recommend! 😁
      I hope that was useful to you! 😄

      There's an ever cleaner tone white amp on that one too, plus you get the black acoustic amp and the sick MultiVoicer to play with that has an interesting interface. One of the more versatile offerings. Though the Mesa Boogie suite has been stealing me lately.

    • @ITzRobertoBRO
      @ITzRobertoBRO 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ProudFilthyCasual I use the Nolly primarily now, but used Plini, Fortin Cali, Gojira and Petrucci before this. Plini is still my favorite for those crystalline cleans, I use the Petrucci just for the wah pedal at this point, the Gojira rarely gets used except for the octave/pitch shift pedal, the Fortin is used for all my solo Leads. And the Nolly is used for all my rhythm tracks. I'm digging the setup now. Almost got the henson for the multivoicer tho 🤘😊

    Thanks for this, they all sound very different and great in their own way.
    Also a very interesting comparison for me would be:
    - Nolly's Amp 2 (JCM800)
    - Bea's Amp 2 (Kraken Ch1 aka JCM 900)
    - Tim's Amp 3 (Marshall, maybe also a JCM800)
    - Plini's Amp 2 (Friedman BE aka modded Marshall)
    + maybe the Cali and Nameless
    And also:
    - Nolly's Amp 3 (5150)
    - Bea's Amp 3 (Kraken Ch2 aka 5150)
    - Gojira's Amps 2 & 3 (I think Ch2 & 3 of a 5153)
    - Plini's Amp 3 (Mix between a 5150 and a Friedman HBE)
    + maybe the SLO100
    and now of course Petrucci's Amps 2 & 3 vs both 2C+ amps

    I think here gojira, granophyre, nts capture the most naturally responsive/close to a “real “ amp characteristic. The others get a little too “spongy” and seem to absorb some of the dynamics

    The plini x, mesa suite have been alright although often i use stl amphub for cabs

    Short answer, they don't sound the same at all. That's why they are the best at what they do. John Petrucci has said already that Neural Dsp plugins made him get into that world, since he considers it has the most precise experience in an amp sim, talking specifically about the randomness and the dynamics on a tradicional tube amp while most amp sim plugins try to emulate as many amps, cabs and effects and at the end of they they none of those features feel realistic, it sounds like if it was midi because the lame quality of the amp sims. Neural Dsp plugins are more focused, since most of these archetypes have a maximum of 4 amps, an eq and maybe some pedals, only one reverb, only one delay, only 2 distortion pedals, etc. Of course you can tweak everything in the plugin, but spending time perfectioning 3 amps will be much more precise and with higher attention to details than making 60 amps....
