He did an amazing job! You need to be grateful that you had such a positive outcome. Well done, Sir! Girl, you are looking gorgeous with the finish look.
As a black girl, I feel like it's very essential to know how to take care of your hair, at least the basics like washing and detangle your hair right and also some basics styling, blow drying and stuff, cause you might find yourself in some part of the world where they have little to no knowledge about African hair, just saying.
When taking braids out, you must comb and detangle the hair before washing. Make sure after shampooing that a conditioner is used. It is also helpful to use a cream rinse or leave - in conditioner as these will help with tangles and make sure the hair is wet when detangling it. Your hair still came out nice 😊
I don't think you knew, but the reason she told you to detangle before washing your hair is. Because you shed a lot of hair while protective styling. The lose strands that you have lost will tangle in your hair, like in the video if you don't detangle it in sections before washing. I read that you are tender headed, you can use water and a conditioner with good slip to detangle every section of hair of braid you took out. Before I use any tool to detangle my hair. First I finger detangle to take out mlst of the shed hair and than I go in with a tool. And than twist or braid the detangled section up so it would tangle all back together. This proces can be a lot bit It helps you save time in the washing proces and styling later. I wash my hair in a few twist, so they don't tangle back up. I hope this can help you. I had to learn too sis😊❤
It's not the shampoo girl, you should have combed and detangled your hair before going to the saloon. After removing braids that's the basic thing you should do otherwise it will definitely break.
Hi! Considering you did not completely remove your braids before your service....he did an amazing job. One (1) tip to use when visiting a new salon- "Explain what you want!" Then you won't get sticker shock on service OR price!😂
I was just about to say; being as though a braid was still in, it was most likely not detangled before washing; washing made it worse. Plus they prob used a shampoo for straight hair.
exactly i am not even done watching the wash and I am so confused...no conversation about what she wants and the braid took me out lol When a client sits down in my chair and don't even have the ponytail holder out....i already know whats up smh

Ridiculous! Detangle on dry hair. That's when it's the strongest. Detangle each braid that you remove. Detangle in small sections. Use oil on dry hair to detangle. @@Lovely-ff7uv no it’s not ridiculous, you spray your hair with water and put hair conditioner on it and let rest for some minutes then rinse it out make sure you take down all the braids.
I do not think it is the shampoo, it is the texture of your hair. Also, he may have never done a black person's hair before. I think he did a great job!
Oh I see what the problem is from looking at your hair. It’s not the shampoo. When wearing long protective styles the hair that would normally shed is hidden in there until the style is taken out because of the amount built up underneath. Next time take a water bottle with a little condition in it, using a detangling brush detangle your hair before washing. It works like a charm and will not break your hair. That hair that sheds in the proactive stylus will turn loc like if not cared for before the water hits.
The stylist had a lot to do you are lucky that you have hair on your head mama. Learn how to take that mess off of your head before entering a salon because it needs extra care trimming in all.😮
Your absolutely right...Looks like to me she's only natural at the roots. The rest looks like it's been relaxed with something. You can tell when it's wet. You have to detangle hair after taking out braids..every time, because this will happen every time if you don't before your shampoo. That shampoo has nothing to do with it.
How many times did he wash it? You’re suppose to wash your hair twice, then condition it. And depending on how your hair is, you may need a deep condition and need to sit with a cap either under the dryer or not under the dryer. Always speak up when you’re spending your money on any service! You can be nice whilst doing so. I would’ve just showed the stylist how dirty it still was and politely asked could they wash it again. It still came out decent being that they are from a different culture and still managed to do your hair. If you go there again tho, school them on combing your hair starting from the ends and work towards the top of your hair to the roots.

I have seen other videos with different coily hair women from Africa who are living in China going to salons and posting their experiences. Unfortunately the backlash against the Chinese stylists about not knowing how to do black hair is insane 😳 I don't understand how people expect Chinese stylists to do various types of hair when their country is not diverse due to Communism. I just don't understand.
He did an excellent job with the skill set he had. I feel the time to teach self-responsibility for hair care post-braiding services is imperative. Extension "natural/protective" braid styles have only been on the scene in the professional world of hair design for approximately 17 years. That is young, given cosmetology's 97-year history as a profession in America. Not that cosmetology is perfect. However, there are rules of engagement in our industry to help increase the likelihood of home hair care for future salon visits or improve hair care at home. The issue of detangling and combing hair as each braid or a few braids as they are taken down is a contentious one here in the States. One-half of the people feel the ownest is on the person and the other half feel it is on the braider/natural hairstylists, cosmetologists, or barber. The great debate has not been resolved. It is a matter that must be addressed to ensure that customers have the healthiest scalp and hair and get the best bang for their buck. It will also meet the needs of the technician's business operation within his or her work setting manage their time, products, additional services, and other appointments. At the salon where I work, a thorough consultation with incentives to encourage self-responsibility for all braided styles is essential. To date we have had 100% success in explaining the options that empower and satisfy both the licensed professional/natural hairstylist and the customer. Communication and respect pave the way for good business. To share our efforts and exchange ideas to meet the demands of the ever-changing world of barbering and cosmetology, we are hosting the first Afro Hair Summit in Cleveland, Ohio this summer. All licensed barbers, cosmetologists, natural hairstylists, and medical professionals of every ethnic and racial background are welcome. Visit www.afrohairscience.com to learn more. This was a great video! You were patient and you trusted the process.
I don't understand why you complaining cause your hair look good.and the poor guy i feel sorry for him cause his so gentle and professional.plz appreciate girl.
You are beautiful and so is your hair! He did a great job and he was patient. That's what matters a lot a patient stylist. I'm not sure what happened with the excessive tangling. It looks like you have some stronger curl pattern at your roots; wondering if your hair is relaxed. Overall you have beautiful healthy hair.
The hair is beautiful, What you can do is to wash your hair the way you would like it before you get there, so when they wash your hair it will not be a problem.
That why I came very prepared this time, I’ll never forget how they did my wedding makeup 💄 in china 🇨🇳 i looked like a ghost 👻 with all the white foundation and powder they used on my face even my husband laughed at me 😂
You are right , when you say your hair doesn't feel clean . It doesn't look clean either and looks oily. But all and all , the finished results look OK.
Next time when you take out your braids, use a wide teeth comb to detangle your hair before going to the salon It saves time and also save your hair from breaking
It turned out nice 😊… the same thing happened to me when i washed my hair with a protein intense shampoo… my hair knotted and got super tangled it took an hour & lots of Olive Oil, to comb it out 😫
It's nit their fault our hair does this that's why most if us (well myself) I comb my hair through before I have a wash otherwise will get tangled. The gy did all he can to be honest
From a professional standpoint, you did not comb out your hair to the root when taking out your braids. They may have used the incorrect products as well.
Poor guy. Black hair locks after braids. This happen to me after wearing braids for only 3wks. I was told you have to wait a few days before putting water on your hair. I had to cut my hair. That was not his fault it was the braids. Beautiful results though.
Detangle each braid as you take it out. Detangle in small sections. Detangle before you wet it. HAIR IS WEAKEST WHEN WET! SHE needs deep conditioner. Her hair is very dry. But it was not an epic fail.
@@NatashaMulowa Ok, I understand now. I am a South African living in Canada. Here there is no way they would even touch me with one left over braid. And they still charge waaaaaayyy too much
girl he did a fantastic job.. well done to the stylist. stop doing the blame game, clearly did you see the condition of your hair, not properly combed out as there was still a piece of braiding in your hair.. take accountability for heaven sake
Thank you for saying that. I feel like it needed to be said. The girl just didn't take good care of her hair and then she expected someone who has no idea about african hair to move mountains and come up with a miracle.she lucky they detangled it properly cz if it was were I come from there would have been major hair loss and extreme pulling of the hair. So she's lucky they were gentle and that a miracle did come through for her
They don’t understand so you have to get a relaxer on your own then keep it super moisturized before going there. If you don’t want to do that then you have to make a booklet to send to teach them how to handle or don’t let them touch it!
I get my hair cut in Mexico and run until the same problem, but I like the experience so I get my hair texture closer to what they're used to and give them a lot of instructions and they're able to get it done. Stay with the same beautician and pick them for how they treat you and they'll learn little by little until you can go in an actually get your hair done, if they treat you like a spectacle don't go back, they'll never care enough to learn
Why don’t you try going to a salon that specializes in your hair. He is used to the type of hair they have and it’s like silk. If you don’t like the wash job.. wash it yourself. And it’s salon not saloon. Sorry, won’t be joining your family.
Ur hair had been previously relaxed and u had just took out braids he had used a shampoo with essential oils wich reacts like that with relaxer or recently bleched hair he should of used a detox or clarification shampoo. Next time u visit a new salon tell them what products u recently used and if u have dye or relaxer or bleech in xxx
5.42 is not the shampoo, it's called matting. It happens when you have not detangled your hair and removed all the dead/shed hair before shampooing. The 'scrubbing' motion when shampooing just moves the dead hair around and causes a stiff mess. Takes patience and time to work through. Try to detangle your hair first before going to the salon especially when coming out of braids or not having combed it for some time.
The "leftover product" was probably trapped buildup from braids that weren't detangled before washing so the hair wasn't fully cleaned. Then when he had to detangle after the wash he was very thorough exposing the buildup that the shampoo couldn't get to...also the washing products may have gotten trapped as well and not washed out completely. You can't just walk into a salon after a protective style and expect them to know, but He did such a great job detangling so im shocked... completely blown away that he was able to fully detangle your hair and you still walked away with a full head of hair after.

Unfortunately the backlash against the Chinese stylists about not knowing how to do black hair is insane 😳 I don't understand how people expect Chinese stylists to do various types of hair when their country is not diverse due to Communism. I just don't understand.
Hair turned out great though 🥺. Loved that he was so patient with my hair texture. He fixed the mess and I am definitely going back there 🤍
He did an excellent job with the skill set he had.
Thank you so much
Braid hairstyles are much older than 17years know your history ! Perhaps only 17 years in the white world of hair care
I was getting braids in the 90s

He did an amazing job.....kudos to him❤❤❤
He really did 😍😍
Beautiful indeed I'm curious to know the relaxer he used?which hair product dd he use?
No products where used 🥹. It’s just the shampoo and conditioner they used . And thank you so much
I don't understand why you complaining cause your hair look good.and the poor guy i feel sorry for him cause his so gentle and professional.plz appreciate girl.
He did so well 💗
He did an excellent job. He's a professional
He really did 🥹 I loved it 💗
You are beautiful and so is your hair! He did a great job and he was patient. That's what matters a lot a patient stylist. I'm not sure what happened with the excessive tangling. It looks like you have some stronger curl pattern at your roots; wondering if your hair is relaxed. Overall you have beautiful healthy hair.
You are so kind selina, thank you so much . I will try to de tangle the hair before I go to the salon next time. Thank you for watching 💗💗
@@NatashaMulowa You're welcome...
The hair is beautiful, What you can do is to wash your hair the way you would like it before you get there, so when they wash your hair it will not be a problem.
This is such a great idea I am definitely going to to try washing my hair before I go to the salon 🤍
It turned out so beautiful, I will love to try it out on my natural hair too
Right ? It turned out so beautiful, you definitely should try it 🥰
They did a good job ❤❤❤❤. Kindly share the app name please. Can it work in Beijing, too?
Yes it can the app is meituan ❤️. And they really did a great job
Because chinese and African have very different type of hair. But he did good and was gentle
Yes he was as gentle and chatty as ever 🥰. So glad it worked out
Your hair look great the guy did a really good job be very thankful!
I think so too!
To us who like before watching 🤣😂
Love you internet bestie 🫶💗
Woooow he is so patient he took his time to fix your hair n he dd a good job
Yes he was 🤍. I had such a lovely experience
He did a great job considering what he had to work with.
You are absolutely right !!
Just a little advice. I don't think it's the shampoo. I always detangle my hair after a protective hairstyle.
Right, will definitely mention that my hair needs to be dangled before washing, thank you so much for watching 🥺❤️
That why I came very prepared this time, I’ll never forget how they did my wedding makeup 💄 in china 🇨🇳 i looked like a ghost 👻 with all the white foundation and powder they used on my face even my husband laughed at me 😂
Right😂😂😂. Please watch my makeup video
You are right , when you say your hair doesn't feel clean .
It doesn't look clean either and looks oily.
But all and all , the finished results look OK.
right🤍, thank you
Next time when you take out your braids, use a wide teeth comb to detangle your hair before going to the salon
It saves time and also save your hair from breaking
This is such great suggestion, I will definitely try it. Thanks lola
I like this guy Tash, he did an awesome job.
Yes he did Marie 💗💗
He did amazingly well. Looks pretty 😍
Right ? Thank you ❤
He did a very a wonderful job

Natasha people are always beautiful😍 Nice meeting you namesake 😊
Aww namesake 🤭❤️ hey
Me panicking 😮with you
How did he do though 😂
It turned out nice 😊… the same thing happened to me when i washed my hair with a protein intense shampoo… my hair knotted and got super tangled it took an hour & lots of Olive Oil, to comb it out 😫
@@tracey26reacts59 thank you love x. Glad it worked out because if something happened to my hair 🫠
It as happened to me before is the shampoo , because you have relax your hair for long .
Right, hair is a lot of work, I am so glad he managed to make it so beautiful
It's nit their fault our hair does this that's why most if us (well myself) I comb my hair through before I have a wash otherwise will get tangled. The gy did all he can to be honest
You are right . Black African hair is different so glad it turned out great. Enjoyed his customer service
From a professional standpoint, you did not comb out your hair to the root when taking out your braids. They may have used the incorrect products as well.
You are absolutely right ❤️. Turned out great though
@@Lovely-ff7uv yes it really wasn’t bad, turned out great just a lil hiccup on the way 😂
Laronya sorry you had to cut your hair
I just find it incredible that I only seen them mad props to them, an for trying 🥺
Yes
Shoot I meant men, my phone just hates me 😭
@@leoc3321 it’s okay
Next time try to take out the braids before you go to any saloon. It turned out well though
Right ? I only forgot to take out one 😂 only saw it when he was washing
@@NatashaMulowa Ok, I understand now. I am a South African living in Canada. Here there is no way they would even touch me with one left over braid. And they still charge waaaaaayyy too much
@@alicegauteng2358 fair enough, I used a discount code 😂 the actual price is 188¥ but I am a smart girl
I wasn't expecting that either. That's woow ❤
Right, he did so well🤭🤭
girl he did a fantastic job.. well done to the stylist. stop doing the blame game, clearly did you see the condition of your hair, not properly combed out as there was still a piece of braiding in your hair.. take accountability for heaven sake
Yes he did a very good job
Thank you for saying that. I feel like it needed to be said. The girl just didn't take good care of her hair and then she expected someone who has no idea about african hair to move mountains and come up with a miracle.she lucky they detangled it properly cz if it was were I come from there would have been major hair loss and extreme pulling of the hair. So she's lucky they were gentle and that a miracle did come through for her
Wow!! he did a great job 👏🏼!!
He really did, thank you 🙏
@@NatashaMulowa ❤️
He didn't Put Hair Condition in Your Hair. That is What You Need in Your Hair. The End was alright.
i will ask for conditioner next time🤍
They don’t understand so you have to get a relaxer on your own then keep it super moisturized before going there. If you don’t want to do that then you have to make a booklet to send to teach them how to handle or don’t let them touch it!
You are right . Thanks for the tip I will definitely try that ❤️
I get my hair cut in Mexico and run until the same problem, but I like the experience so I get my hair texture closer to what they're used to and give them a lot of instructions and they're able to get it done.
Stay with the same beautician and pick them for how they treat you and they'll learn little by little until you can go in an actually get your hair done, if they treat you like a spectacle don't go back, they'll never care enough to learn
05.41 🤣 what was going through your head ?
Panic 😂😂😂
It's look so nice at the end ❤
Right, thank you so much .
Why don’t you try going to a salon that specializes in your hair. He is used to the type of hair they have and it’s like silk. If you don’t like the wash job.. wash it yourself. And it’s salon not saloon. Sorry, won’t be joining your family.
Yeah he did amazing 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Yess🥹❤️
Ur hair had been previously relaxed and u had just took out braids he had used a shampoo with essential oils wich reacts like that with relaxer or recently bleched hair he should of used a detox or clarification shampoo. Next time u visit a new salon tell them what products u recently used and if u have dye or relaxer or bleech in xxx
Okay love no problem I will definitely. I didn’t communicate what state my hair was in and thank you for your tip ❤️ very useful
Looking good thou😊
Thank you so much
He did amazing
He really did 🥹🥹❤️
Wow so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️ can't wait to come china
Thank you so much ❤️. China is beautiful
Beautiful hair,naturally
Thank you so much buhle 💗💗
5.42 is not the shampoo, it's called matting. It happens when you have not detangled your hair and removed all the dead/shed hair before shampooing. The 'scrubbing' motion when shampooing just moves the dead hair around and causes a stiff mess. Takes patience and time to work through. Try to detangle your hair first before going to the salon especially when coming out of braids or not having combed it for some time.
@@honeybee2532 you broke it down so so well, and also in a kind way. Thank you so much for educating me 🤍
Love your bone structure and how you speak
Thank you so much
The "leftover product" was probably trapped buildup from braids that weren't detangled before washing so the hair wasn't fully cleaned.
He is sooo good at his job !! That’s one thing, his patience with my hair 💕
OMG!!!! YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO NICE............i kinda feel bad dor the guy who did it lol
Thank you, why do you feel bad 😂😂
Prolly because he might have not seen your hair texture anywhere else
