Then he opened the style book with various styles for 1a to 2 hair. At that point i would have said thank you but no thank you. No one is experimenting on my hair like that.

Love they tried and didn't turn you away but some tips that work for me comb hair when wet the blow dryer can actually straighten the hair then you can go in with the flat iron for best results and style to your liking

Asian hair the thickest hair scientifically, so their hair can take a lot more abuse compared to other races. My white girl hair luckily didn’t get too much damage but they were definitely nervous as my hair was so fine.
They should have told you they aren't skilled in your hair type and gracefully declined. Btwn the many passes of the iron, and the brush w balled tips that breaks our hair...Im sure your hair is in worse condition than it was before you went. Sometimes it's ok to say "I don't know how"
As a licensed cosmetologist this is sad. No matter where you are in the world as a cosmetologist we should have knowledge and skill to do all types of hair smh
Not really realistic and would cost extra as in those places most of the people are never going to come in contact with all types of hair. Not to mention not all countries education level is up to par either.

I saw a video a while ago with a lady getting her hair done in China she said their tongs don't get as hot. I would have demonstrated how to do my hair or brought a video to show.
In one video a stylist looked up a video, and the lady’s hair came out great. It wasn’t a true silk press, but it was very close. I saw another woman get her hair braided into box braids by an old Chinese man, and it looked phenomenal. He did a really good job.
That was a terrible shampoo, what was he really doing? As a former cosmetologist black black needs a good shampoo and a deep conditioner treatment at all times. If theses men were more familiar with black hair? She wouldn't of needed 3 men to work on her hair. Disgusting! There are so many things missing before you start that process. Poor lady I hope she didn't pay a lot of money for poor experience of going to the hair salon.
Personally, I would have blown it out straight with a paddle brush or a round brush and then flat ironed it in small section from back to front, roots to ends. Not everyone is familiar with ethnic hair, but, he did his best:) thanks for sharing!

I wonder how my experience would be as someone who is mixed race. I have very fine hair that curls when it gets wet but as it dries, it’s more wavy then curly and straight at the roots. I once went to a salon, and it was a African American salon, and I asked them not to spray some sort of sheen spray on my hair and they did anyway and I thought it would mess up my hair 😂. It didn’t, but I have never went back to that salon again or any other one for that matter. 🤣
