This song is the 100% pure Madonna sound of the 80's. Her typically high voice is asking for total passion. Also Jellybean is involved in this album. A forgotten Madonna gem of the 80's; love this track!
I love this album I brought the album 2010 sometime and I just couldn't stop playing it. I never knew this album came out in 1982....the year I was born.
I had a beautiful Camaro Z28. sky blue with Chrome Creger Rims . 4 Pioneer TS409 speakers. an alpine Stereo and Alpine amp. I would cruise on Gratiot north of Detroit. this song was poppin outta my car. everyone loved it !!
3:33 break down! There's something about this song! It's amazing! But this video skips and my TWO records skip on it! It must be that good! I say a lot of bad shit about her THESE days, but THOSE dayzzz hunny? Bang!
+Shteve67 no..she should have released this and BORDERLINE. she had some very good singles potential on this album, but it took almost 2 years for this album to heat up on radio play and sales. she had already completed her second before this one was even getting red hot. LIKE A VIRGIN , the single, was ready to drop when LUCKY STAR got popular. THINK OF ME could have been a No. 1 R&B song, it had all the beats, groove and hooks of a great R&B song. but the record company was sitting on the VIRGIN album for months. it just was too long a wait for this album to get red hot. too bad...they had potential for a good 4 top 10 hits on it. airplay has a lot to do with it, and MTV should have hopped on it sooner.
Gina Sousa Branco it was released, and out, for almost a year before she had big pop airplay. it was on the dance/disco charts that her 12' remixes did well, popularized by club play, and big market exposure. it was not a national success until the "Holiday", "Borderline", and Lucky Star" singles cracked top 40 radio. in fact, the album's late success, interfered with the release of "Like A Virgin". the album did not get into the top 10 until around "Lucky Star" was a single. "Like A Virgin" was pushed back in fact because of the popularity of the last few singles released from her first album. those were reports in Billboard mag, as well as Rolling Stone.

Yesss! She sounded like she wanted it! Not needed it! This is one of her best! Then True Blue! Then Like a Prayer....notice which one I skipped?
My fav from her 1st album..
One of her more underrated songs. Love the addition of the saxophone.
Saxophone was very 80s ! I miss the 80s…..💙👍
No doubt the product of Miles Davis protege Reggie Lucas!
The best part of the song is the saxophone I love that part
@@brandyw.7943 That's the best part of a lot of songs. Same with guitar solos.
