I tried to listen for this because the manwha im reading called 'jazz for two' and hearing this is great i love everything since ever since i always wanted to play and learn piano but for so many reasons i cant. So i just listen and enjoy 💖
I am an intermediate Jazz and blues/$inger pianist. Incidentally, I love to hear those advanced essential chords to help me to advance in my style of playing. For without this professionalism music could not exist and amplify!!!! Hence, thank you for taking out the time to share your extraordinary musical expertise
Very interesting. Not only helpful, but entertaining to hear the changes that can come different tempi. Keep up the good work, and I'm looking forward to more.
I'm new to this channel, I like the fact that you include the piano sheet of what you are playing, many other channels just talk what they are playing, but having the score makes it much easier, thanks!
I know what swing is. I meant he plays some chords earlier than it's written. You can call it also variation, but I think it would be better if he wrote it exactly like it is. Anyway, nice cover
Simon Stampfer jazz sheets are read a little differently than other styles mostly due to the fact that some rhythms are not able to be neatly notated in scores. In pieces like this, i’d think of these rhythms as strong suggestions rather than the exact rhythms intended
It's not the Bill Evans version--but I think it's much better. Definitely inspired by Bill Evans, but has clearer harmonies and is less cluttered. I really think this version is a masterpiece.
@@IBoughtItMyself come on ?! Ahahah WTF are you saying ? This a transcription of Bill Evans indeed and a good one, which his an attempt to play EXACTLY THE SAME NOTES as Bill did. Your comment was really funny to read thank you and bravo for the transcription
Beautifully played and conceived! It is a wonderful advantage to read sheet music notation fluently, but the point of jazz is use the basic song melody and harmony as a platform for your personal expression. David does that so admirably here.
@@Kafari Thanks!! I am working up to around measure 17 now. The Bill Evans' lick is satisfying to play. Just need to match it up with the bass line now!
i could play this, and was kinda surprised that I can fit under "advanced" since my self esteem regarding my playing ability hasn't been very high as of lately... thank you for the great lesson :) and bill evans is my all time favourite jazz pianist
this is what i love about jazz. in order to advance and gain new ideas you actually have to listen and pay attention. everyone can play the same song differently. i just couldnt handle or feel classical at all when i was learning piano
This melody doesn’t leave my head, but I love it and I really wanna play this song as good as you, thank you for giving me adrenaline and the motivation:D
Thank God for people like this. I can play any piece as it is written if it’s transcribed I can play it note for note God has given me that gift to be able to do so. I’m 60 years old and I do not have time to work lines and modes and create my own lines. There are far better creators of music and arranges LOL and I just love playing them. I loved the transcription that I received of McCoy Tyner playing Afro blue in bird land and I had a guy transcribe a note for note and I can play it flawlessly. Thank God for a technical ability anyway
I could ditch all other youtube piano channels and only keep yours. I wouldn't, though, since I'm curious as the next cat, but for the point - your channel raise the bar, high. Thank you great musical ear opening lesson. Cheers!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with students from all over the world. All this puts into practice the theory of harmony, improvisation and arrangements, in solo piano and accompanied by bass. It is the first site that combines theory and practice from basic to advanced levels. Thank you from the south of Spain-Cadiz. Birthplace of Manuel de Falla, Camaron de la Isla, Paco de Lucia and Chano Dominguez. Thank you.
It's a beautiful performance. I can't play the piano like you, but I try to imitate it. It was an impressive video. It's just amazing and envious to play at a slower tempo without missing a beat.
You're the reason why i want to practice piano including jazz. You really are a big help in enhancing my piano skills. Keep it up bro! And ill keep looking forward for your tutorials. THUMBS UP!
Well, not quite everyone :D Just for curiosity: Is there any other jazz standards that you are checking out because of Jazz for Two, or is Autumn Leaves the first and only one?:)
Thank you so much for sharing this. It is great that you are showing the scores while you play. I bought both from the link you published and it works really well. Please make more videos of this kind.
Parabéns! Admiro muito seu trabalho. Sua humildade em ajudar pessoas no mundo inteiro a melhorar sua habilidade musical. Isso é lindo no ser humano. Deus te abençoe!
I'm curious, can you send me an email or private message how you get the notation in there? If I use finale, the rhythm isn't readable... you must have spent a lot of time editing the notation!
@@nicolasnony2204 "put the first finger here... By the way this note is the middle c, but others call it c4, or c3, but I don't like that because it is confusing. That's also reminds me the salad I ate this morning before I went out skateboarding... And put your second finger there..."

Mau365PP But the score should be also correct. He plays it totally different. Look at the articulation and the rhythm.
Simon Stampfer 8th notes = triplets
