Serment (Kikam) - Franco & le T.P. O.K. Jazz 1983

- In 1982-1983, le T.P. O.K. Jazz recorded eight songs with this vocal combination of Josky Kiambukuta (solo) with Aimé Kiwakana, Lokombe Ntal, Madilu System.
These songs were: Nganda Lopango Batekisa and Mbanzi Ya Kamundele by Lutumba Simaro and actually five compositions by Josky: Soeto (not Soweto), Alita, Mehida, Massikini and Limbisa Ngai. And finally, Serment, composed by a fan (!).
Serment is the only tune out of these eight on which Franco played on the recorded version, in live shows he could always choose to play on another but this is how it went.
So, this song is the only record of Franco playing with these four singers and this is the only song on this LP that Franco plays on.

80's was the golden era of Zairen music and band's like TPOK jazz were leading the way. Those legends transcended every boundary in Africa with their music.Countinue resting knowing your music bado inastua roho za wengi
A grand timeless composition. Josky in his element! Guys the chorus was, still is bringing out the best in listening!!
Not Josky compo, but by a fan (Kikam Ronald)

@@koyoko3003 where is Kikam now? From this composition looks like he could have gone far as a composer
@@koyoko3003 Could this be the one and only Dr. K'Oyoko from CAVS. If it is you, this is one and only Oush bandeko.
The best band in the world. As my uncle Maurice normally says,ÓK Jazz ni bendi isiyoshindwa''.May those in this great band who departed continue resting peace.
Big man(Franco) never dies His enthusiastic listiners grow by the day, enjoy his songs.
Greatest group I ever listned to on the continent. Am Zimbabwean , does not understand Lingala but the instrumentation goes deep in my nerves
Done on my TH-cam page
The artists are great. The composer has poured all from his soul or rather his heart. This is African

Simply Magical with the elements of the orchestra in perfect harmony..
Will we ever have another golden era of Lingala with such talent ?
september 2024 and josky is still the man with papa lwanzo the legend
I had mistakenly attributed Serment Kikam to Josky - the lead vocalist. That it is the handiwork of a spirited fan, goes along way in demonstrating how Franco embraced new and fresh ideas. Thanks Aboubacar for uploading it here
This is one song Josky is showcasing his vocals artistry in harmony with the trademark unique"choir of T.P.O.K. JAZZ
This is the first song that i could sing every word with pleasure. iliked Aime Kiwakana Kiala's voice as the support vocalist in this one
I love this album profusely because it's the one which initiated me properly into TP OK JAZZ music in my adolescence.
However, I disperately need to find the missing Armour Perdu of this LP Please upload, someone. Kindly
Life long songs which will be heard forever!!!!
This Masterpiece is a combination of the famous Quartet- Josky, Lokombe, Kiwakana and of course Madilu. The fusion is unparalleled bearing in mind the Maestro Franco is occasionally in the solo guitar with supportive all round genius , Simaru. How else!! Dr. Ogeto International
Simaro didn't play here.
Great to hear these voices. First song appears to be the best among the ok jazz late compositions
Superb.
Beautiful song✓
Song you've mentioned here are engraved in my heart as a magnificent, monumental souvenir of my then transitional developmental stage - adolescence. BUT I KEEP SEARCHING FOR "AMOUR PERDU", I suppose by Flavien Makabi. Kindly upload. Please.
will we ever have another band? another Franco? another Josky?😭
Serment comes with a powerful delivery with Josky's signature. This was indeed an Orchestra! Where can one find the words to describe such talent! In which language?
wauuu....le Grand Maite.....Genial !!
mmmmmmh on entre ok on sort ko...... merci for this song
Thanks for the correction. I would right now give anything for the song Alita specifically.
You have the 4 greats - of course it is going to a master piece!
Franco at his finest on the guitar
Miziki ya heshima lumba
JOSKY!
Josky Kiambukuta as the lead vocalist with the backup of Aimé Kiwakana, Lokombe Ntal and Madilu System
@Roger MVOULA Sorry but Lola Chécain is not part of this combination of Josky, Kiwakana, Ntal and Madilu
@Danylutonadio Lutonadio Madilu joined TP OK Jazz in 1980 and this song was recorded and released in 1983. I can state without fear of contradiction that Madilu Multi-System was part of chorus group on this song
wow!! Thanks Abo....never heard this one too...
They are not from the same album (LP). Mehida and the three you mention are on one LP.
Man stop killing me I Never heard of this songs. Could you hook me up
Excelente estou ligado a grandes vozes que fazem falta.
@AboubacarSiddikh
Weka hayo maneno watu tutanunua ikibidi.
