Omg. What an eye opener. My father’s friend was a surgeon. About 20 years ago while over our house for dinner, he said never let a hospital tell you that it requires an operation. He said they manipulate the findings to just operate. He said tell them you want you surgeon to view the cat scan first. 90% of the time they back off and dismiss the original diagnosis.

I'm hearing that stints don't really increase your longevity. Might deal with minor symptoms but overall they don't really extend lives as much as they were promised.
Problem is we send a trillion dollars to the military who loses half of it in their couch and so everyone's scrambling to try and make money, which means that we get cheated out of good health care we get cheated out of good government programs, We get cheated out of affordable education, housing Assistance, And we inflate our currency by a trillion a year causing prices to go up also that military contractors can own more yachts per capita.
And are we really safer? All the fancy security systems that you can buy when you're a congressman that makes less than a million dollars yet own a multi-million dollar house or five... They are safer.
At least until the pitchforks just come out. Eventually people are going to be sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Someone who hasn't slept well in months is going to snap and go crazy. And other people are going to do it too.
And who's going to blame them when 30 to 40% of the population is either living in over cramped housing, or homeless because rent goes up at 9% every year and your pays either staying the same or going up 2% a year, and rent in the ghetto with government assistance in a smaller sub 500,000 population town, The rent is as high the median wage now, and this is only in 10 years time.

I’ve read Metabolical by Dr. Robert Lustig, Good Energy by Dr. Casey Means and An American Sickness by Elizabeth Roenthal. All three have changed my life for the better. They all have really made me mad as well. Now I’m going to have to read Blind Spots. Great interview. Can’t wait to read the book.

Just wow! This makes me feel like I am not crazy! I feel like I am judged for questioning everything after having gallbladder removed and my issue was something else.

Oh such a great interview! Isn’t it interesting - children learn by asking “why?” But educated adults - especially those who have the best view to issues - do not question? Thank you Dr. Makary, Dr. Ovadia and Jack Herald for reminding us of the most important question, for patients, as well! Why???👍👏👏😥

A lot of us in the medical system have been noticing these things for many years (24 for me), but being just one person we feel helpless and just like who am I to challenge the system?? So many things over the years!! 😢

Maybe, EBT should be forced to stop covering sugary sodas and ultraprocessed "food".
Maybe, federal subsidies should be taken away from big agro, big food, and big pharma then redirected towards microwaving and regenerative agriculture.

This is excellent!!! How many millions, average intelligence, average education level individuals, world wide, are watching qualified professionals like y'all, learning, comparing, and making personal informed healthcare decisions. The last time I visited my pcp, I presented nine journal articles that disputed his statin prescription. It may be possible, he didn't understand LB and SD LDL and the side effects of statins. Who can you really trust in medicine?

Thank u gentleman for an intelligent and ultimately informative conversation about today’s doctors with regard to the state of health care today. This has given me tools and encouragement to approach and challenge my own doctor with honesty and grace and respect for a person who may b hampered and compromised by his or her own system.

I find that AI consolidating info on unimportant stuff, in my case a garden question, it didn't answer the very specific question but gave me a lot of very general info which I found I very difficult to get past to drill down on the specific. I worry that the same could happen here with life and death questions.

I’m a 3-month post heart transplant patient at age 65 and a three-year carnivore. I just had a required routine angiogram yesterday because transplant patients tend to get hardening of the arteries due to organ rejection conditions. Can someone explain to me how this happens? I thought excess cholesterol was the culprit.

We've already been working to replace doctors. We've been using PA's for a long time. It won't take much and it won't take long to switch to AI to peddle pharmaceuticals. They've already been using surgical robots for many years. Intuitive Surgical is one of the companies that makes these robots. The high cost is the only thing holding these back.

Two of the things driving today’s medical practice and dogma are insurance billing and being bullied by the prospect of litigation.

    Yep, no hormones for me.
Though I suffered hot flashes and migraines (that I never suffered before). At 69, I think I am finally through. Even the migraines are letting up thankfully.
Though, I do wonder if the terrible symptoms (as well as the PCOS I think I suffered all my adult life, leaving me childless) are ultimately caused by the modern SAD diet. Or, who knows,, lack of sunlight.
I have heard from other podcasters who've been to Africa, that the hunter/gatherer natives, as a rule, suffer none of these menstrual or menopause negativities.

Like why did I have gall stones at the age of 14, that went undetected for 2 years, only to lead to an emergency surgery at the age of 16? 🤒🤕🤯 now at 46 I understand my past teenage situation much better. 1992-1994 Canada🎉

So, I see Dr Phil, quickly click on another video and always think, "Oh, that's right, I have to put up with this Jack guy, who knows nothing and contributes almost nothing"... Then I quit watching. This time in less than 25 minutes only because I was interested in hearing Marty's story. WTF Jack is here for is totally lost me??? :(

Maybe when you recover from your little snit you'll come back and finish watching. If not, your loss because it's an excellent video. Actually, the kind you want to share with others who have waaaaay too much trust in the "healthcare" industrial complex. If you're concerned about the investment of your time, try viewing at 1.5 to 2.0 playback speed.

Agreed. I don't see what Jack brings to these conversations? He is often completely uninformed, so maybe he kept Dr Ovadia from having to learn dealing with youtube?. Or, just an old friend who has time on his hands...
