    I'm 66 years old walk with a cane and I would still try to dumpster dive for a Wilton Vice. I have one that was bolted to some scrap metal that was given to me 40 years ago. It just does not get better than the quality that was made years ago. I gasp for breath seeing what a good Wilton Vice will sell for at the swap meets now days. I really enjoy seeing outside the shop as well Steve/Adam. I live on 8.25 acres myself and love drinking my coffee on the porch swing watching the Scissor Tails catch grasshoppers. The older I get the more time i take for nature. Mother Nature gave us everything we have we should honor Her by taking time to notice. Thanks Guys.

    I am glad to see two good partners talking about machinery and tools and some other topics related, and I hope this is not the last time you two shall see on videos, congratulations both, and have a great time in the smokey mountains celebrating with 60 degs. apple brandy or corn liquor, because you have a clear water stream, thick vegetation, and very long traditions.

    I am fully enjoying all of these shop tours your giving. Some of the guys I've heard of some I haven't but every one of you guys seem to be the kind of guys that I would really get along with. I am no machinist (yet) but hear this if I ever move to an area that any of you guys live in, you will have a guy willing to push a broom and make things sparkle just for the opportunity to learn a percentage of a percentage of the knowledge you guys have. While I may be reaching the edge of being an old fart (44) I don't think I'll ever be to old to start learning this sort of stuff. Keep up the good work.

    I didn't realize Steve had only been building out his shop for about 5 years. Gives me hope that I can work my shop and video skills up to something close to his level in a reasonable time.

    • @SteveSummers
      @SteveSummers 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheArsonsmith4242 You can build a decent shop with very little money and in a short amount of time if you keep your eyes open.
      Editing a good video is tough. I made my 1st video just over a year ago. Still I'm a beginner as far as editing goes. Takes more time than the machining most the time.

    • @TheArsonsmith4242
      @TheArsonsmith4242 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have some old clips from almost 10 years ago on my channel, but have only started trying to do videos a few months ago. The biggest issue I've found is recording way to much then having to figure out where the good clips are. I end up with much longer videos than I really wanted. Slowly working on the editing and I know I need a lot more practice on the monologues. One of the things I've never been good at and hopefully I can use this medium as a way to expand my abilities.

    • @SteveSummers
      @SteveSummers 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheArsonsmith4242 I always have hours of film every week. Figuring what to cut and what to keep is always a huge struggle.
      I like details, it's where the learning is. But most people seem to like a overview rather than a complete demonstration.

    • @TheArsonsmith4242
      @TheArsonsmith4242 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've considered doing a nearly uncut hours long video along side each edited video. Not sure how that would go over or if they would ever get watched. Not that I have many viewers to begin with. I also do most of my videos 75% for myself. I really like going back and reviewing projects I did years ago and forgotten about. I've found old forum build posts I had done 15 years ago and completely forgot about. It's great going through memory lane and reviewing things I've built. TH-cam seems to be a great forum for doing this which is the main reason I started my channel. Of course I hope others can enjoy it as well.

      The indexing angle plate and dial on the shaper is truly remarkable. He's got alot of gems in his archive for sure.
