Fun fact-/1998-2003 timeframe: Pointe Orlando was the REAL local hangout for dates. It had Dan Marino’s Town Tavern, country nightclub, and adobe gila’s the best bar...most on top floor. Used to love catching a midnight movie....and it was safe.
The closed fenced off building used to be Dowdy Pavilion, ice skating rink and bowling alley. The abandoned building next to Sonic was a short lived ice cream shop. Great vlog as always. Stay Weird!!
The place that was closed was not a bank, from what I remember it was a frozen custard place that barely lasted. I noticed it opened when when went to hash house a go go across the street then went back about a year later and it was already closed!
The building by Sonic used to be Andy’s Frozen Custard. The glass in the front would open accordion style and there used to be a custard cone on the top of those red “straws”. Surprised it’s closed, opened in 2018
Excellent Vlog. Me and wife are from Liverpool UK and have been to Florida 13 times in the last 20 years. We have stayed on and about international drive all the times we have visited. I remember the funspot and going on the Go karts back in 95 when we first visited. It was located just behind Burger king and Hulk Hogan beach shop. Were the old Circus school and i fly Orlando is there was a Comic book shop located in that Area. Back in 1998-99 they had a trapeze swig show located by the Quality Inn international or as it's nown now Rosen Inn international 7600 by the entrance. You could pay and they would perform with you, just wondering if that was part of the Circus school. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
When I stayed at the Enclave I could hear the Pirates Show when on the balcony. Just like the 192 ,I Drive changes every year. I miss the Mercado and Wet n Wild.🇺🇸🇬🇧😷👍
I recall when it was a gas station, I think back in 2012. I forget exact yr when I first saw for the Kobe coming soon. But I do like the First Watch over that way. I think the building next to Sonic used to be another ice cream place for a short time if I am recalling correctly.
I live in a part of town where there’s consistently overturn of random businesses that shut and reopen as something else...gotta be the location not the businesses that take over...very frustrating to see
Despite many trips to WDW over the years, I haven't been on I-Drive since 1987....!! Don't even recognize it anymore. I love this sort of series on the old abandoned places! Just watched the 192 episode before this one. I love old signs, old architecture, etc.. It's history, really, and tells a story.
Great vlog. One thing I notice about buildings that close in the States is that they stay abandoned for so long. In England, they get knocked down/revamped pretty much straight away. Must have something to do with space available I guess!
The vacant "bank" building was formerly Andy's Frozen Custard. You can find their old Yelp reviews and Facebook page still online with some pictures of the building when they were still in business.
You were right about csi it was the csi experience. It was also at one time the Star Trek experience and you could actually take your picture on the bridge of the enterprise.
That mid century bldg you said looked like a Bank was supposed to be a ice cream company (at least that was what the signed said about a 1-1.5 years ago when I drove by it going/coming from Outlet malls while staying at Universal.
I don't remember the Venezia Gas Station ever being open. My daughter had her wedding gown altered at the bridal shop in the plaza Maybe Kobe felt they couldn't compete with Benihana a few blocks away.
13:00 Was Andy's Frozen Custard. I think it was open for less than a year. I'm originally from Southwest Missouri and these are always VERY busy there. I thought they would have done really well here but that location might not have been the best. There's still one in Sanford.
I'm pretty sure the cool building by sonic was going to be a MIami Subs owned by Pitbull but something went wrong about 5 years ago. I might be wrong but pretty sure.
The area next to Pirate's was a bowling alley and an ice skating rink we used to[ go there alot. The next to Sonic was a custard place. I worked at that Sonic many years/. The other area was the Titanic exhibit
Great video as always. You do so many of these I feel like I can find my way around without GPS. I'm just one of the many who had to cancel an upcoming trip. I miss the park so bad right now.
Great video.... We need to get you a 4 wheel drive truck or jeep so you can take this channel off road..... Find stuff that is really abandoned... (Ha ha ha ...) Or a helicopter maybe... Interesting stuff as always.... Thanks for sharing.... Take care ... Have a great day.... thanks.. 👍👍👍👍
Repurposing a gas station into a restaurant is not something I’ve seen. Dependent on state regulations they usually need to remove the gas tanks in the ground before they do anything. Perhaps it’s stuck in environmental issue limbo??

I worked at a zoo on I drive, it also did helicopter tours. I got to go on the helicopter all the time to balance it out. What a fun job!

I knew it wasn’t a bank!!! Too hip looking 🤓
"no shoes, no shirt, no dice" lol. Fast Times at Ridgemont High!!! great movie
...”learn it, know it, live it” 😎
@@bjornemccomb8262 yes!!!
Another great video. Is it just me... but I find everything surrounding Disney World more interesting than Disney World.

Love these tours of International Drive. Brings back so many memories. Fascinating but spooky! Cheers.
👍🏻, history. I remember going by sea world numerous times passing by that gas station with my children. Now 25, 20 and 13 years ago. Also recently.
Excellent Vlog.

And another one bites the dust! Thank you for showing other parts of I Drive
When I stayed at the Enclave I could hear the Pirates Show when on the balcony. Just like the 192 ,I Drive changes every year. I miss the Mercado and Wet n Wild.🇺🇸🇬🇧😷👍
Yup I miss the old brit pub in the mercado. Used to sit out and have a few beers 🍻 🤔
I caught that. All you wanted was a Pepsi. Nice little nod to S. T. Enjoyed the ride.

You’re officially my favorite youtuber.
If I remember in the early 90s the Art Deco looking building next to titanic experience was a eckerds pharmacy.
Congrats on the 15k subs buddy, your channel deserves it😉
Thank you for showing some of forgotten Kissimmee! Your videos are great!

This channel is awesome! I wish the videos were longer!

Man, I miss when the circus school was Sci Fi World. Then there was Skull Kingdom and Mystery Fun House right around the corner. Those were the days.
I really enjoy these type videos. Shows how much you research these places. Thank You !
The business at 11:20 on Canada Avenue, I'm sure was a bowling alley but it's been closed for well over 10 years.
Great vlog. One thing I notice about buildings that close in the States is that they stay abandoned for so long. In England, they get knocked down/revamped pretty much straight away. Must have something to do with space available I guess!
@ Richard - we do have a lot of open space in the USA! You can buy your own town in old ghost towns!
The big building was Duda bowling and ice skating. Also fun spot used to be fun n wheels

Gotta love this channel,
Thanks Tim!!
Whirley dome before covid hit was suppose to become an museum.
Whirly dome used to be "Sports Dominator" some years ago.

LOVE your videos!!
Learn it. Know it. Live it.
Pirates Dinner show is cool! It caught fire a few years back. But they rebuilt it. So you should visit it
My buddy use to live off international dr in 1998 near the mall great video
Great video 👍 and have a great day.
Pireates dinner show is pretty good. Fun times.
That double decker bus reminded me of the TH-cam channel with the same name
at the old I Fly. 3 people died there it became haunted. then they moved it down the street next to Ice Bar.
I'm pretty sure the cool building by sonic was going to be a MIami Subs owned by Pitbull but something went wrong about 5 years ago. I might be wrong but pretty sure.
We went to that indoor skydiving place in 2006, just watched, but I thought it was pretty cool

Was that a Suicidal Tendancies quote? Haha
The glass building was a custard shop
It didn’t last long. It was like a 50’s dinner yep custard place
There was a kobe around there bk in 2003

There's a great Cuban place on Goldenrod that had been an open functioning Citgo Dtation. It's just north of SR408.
ask Sonic what was next door
Typical Florida weather it should know better you are trying to video🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧🤪
