Many thanks for gifting such a wonderful tool for everyone to use. I just want to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation; as an individual having to plan and juggle multiple projects, a sophisticated tool as Projectlibre becomes both imperative and indispensable. The amount of thought given to ease of use and overall finesse, balancing all the comprehensive functionalities making it highly efficient yet fully featured, words are not enough for your efforts. I want you to know your efforts make a huge impact in enabling individuals like me and countless smaller organisations to tangibly step-up their project management. Please continue to keep this open source, the day I’m in a better position because of your generous efforts to help guys like me today, I will remember and do my bit. Thanks a million!
Hi thanks for creating this useful tool. My copy keeps freezing. It's usually when I press a few buttons to many times. Even when I leave it for quite a while it will not un-freeze and just end up using TASK MANAGER to shut it down but I then lose everything.
How to change Language, Date Format and Currency in ProjectLibre Windows OS How to change: Interface Language (e.g. from Italian to English) Date format (e.g. mm/dd/yy → dd/mm/yy) Coin Type (e.g. $ → €) Following two solutions, the second one (B) is a bit more complex then the first one (A) but more flexible: A) Create a projectlibre.conf file 1. Create a new directory in your User folder: e.g. C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\.projectlibre (note the . before projectlibre). 2. In the new directory create(*) a text file called "projectlibre.conf" (must be real a ".conf" file or it will not work). 3. As administrator edit the file and insert the string “locale=en” (without the quotes) 4. Save changes. This method changes AT ONCE the interface language, coin type and date format according to chosen the language setting. (*)Alternatively you can copy a .conf file from an other directory and paste it in the new .projectlibre one. If so remember to cancel all the previous .conf file contents B) If you are MacOS or Linux users we suggest using the first option but for WIndows users use the java launcher option settings: 1. Navigate to your installation directory, lets say C:\Program Files(x86)\ProjectLibre 2. Open, as administrator, in Notepad the "projectlibre.bat" file and change the string: - from: java -Xms128m -Xmx768m -jar projectlibre.jar - to the following (note the two lines): @echo off java -Xms128m -Xmx768m -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=AU -jar projectlibre.jar 3. Save changes. You now have set an English language interface, dd/mm/yy date format and $ as coin type. IMPORTANT: In order to work correctly you have to click the projectlibre.bat file and NOT the projectlibre.exe (or the previous desktop link to the exe file) file anymore. (This procedure works also with java 64 bit).
Red bars are critical tasks and blue are non-critical. If you have constraints on your tasks it would cause things to be critical for example. Put 3 tasks in ... task 1 = 10days task 2 = 5 days and link them both to task 3. ... you will see task 2 is blue as it is non-critical
Hi, is there anyway I can include the numeric code for each activity into the WBS? I've been struggling with this, I even tried inserting a column called "WBS" and it didn't work, please help!
There is a WBS field you can insert. The actual WBS is created by the indentation of Summary tasks and sub-tasks. However, my past included projects for large defense contractors and we used detailed WBS coding structures. You can enter those in the WBS column and the usefulness is if you are exporting or integrating with another system. The don't do much within ProjectLibre itself in regards to the WBS structure.
Yes, at www.projectlibre.com in the Community forums (need to be logged into the community site) there are a couple of workarounds to change the currency using the .ini file and another workaround

I am having red lines in my project libre & no blue lines. How can I correct & change all to blue lines. Please reply.
Red bars are critical tasks and blue are non-critical. If you have constraints on your tasks it would cause things to be critical for example. Put 3 tasks in ... task 1 = 10days task 2 = 5 days and link them both to task 3. ... you will see task 2 is blue as it is non-critical
Very good explanation !!
Thank a bunch!
Glad it was helpful!
hey quick question, how can i manually select critical task?
Critical Path methodology calculates which tasks are critical and which have Float (non-critical)
I am unable to see the documentation ,please help?
Thanks
