We’d hoped to get up into that neck of the woods and possibly dip a toe in Lake Superior last year. If experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want, however, we left with a little more experience instead. 😄 Looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip!
We've been very faithful at watching your videos. I'm sorry about the disappointments you guys ran into this year. Hopefully we'll be able to cross wakes at some point!
How much pressure is on the helm? When you have just the main up when I had just my Genoa up. Last year there was a lot of pressure on the helm because it was constantly trying to pull away, you know?
I typically don't sail with just the main up because that does give a bit of weather helm. I find I can usually balance the boat pretty well in calm seas, but when the waves start getting big, it can take a lot of effort to counter the waves (especially quartering seas from the stern)

@@SVBlueLatitudes Thanks and we look forward to that! For now, we’ll vicariously tag along with you!
Great video. What boat do you have and how much diesel did you go through.
thank you! The boat is a Catalina 30 MKIII. I usually burn about 1/2 gallon per hour when motoring. In calm seas that yields about 9 mpg.
