Epic album! Fav tracks: The Obsessive Devotion, Chasing the Dragon, Death of a Dream, Fools of Damnation, Beyond Belief, Safeguard to Paradise and the Divine Cospiracy. Absolutely LOVE the orchestration. 💙 P.S. We need the beautiful cover - ballad Higher High on Spotify!
This album is quite the masterpiece! Their longest standard release yet. I hope "The Phantom Agony" is next. And if there could be full album streams of at least "Prison of Desire" and "Decipher" by After Forever, through Floor Jansen's page, that would be amazing! It would complete that era of connected themes and sounds.
@@genapoli9747 Slovakia, I double checked, but this album is indeed not listed for me :( I had the same problem with Galneryus - Angel of Salvation not being on Spotify for me, that is why I switched to Apple Music o(╥﹏╥)o
Dear Epica, please do a commemorative tour of this album, as you did with "Design Your Universe". We, Brazilian fans, would enjoy it immensely and attend the show in force.
Just found my real copy of the album from my parents house among other albums. I noticed the albums have great artwork. I used to play these so many times. Gotta get myself a cd player so I can do that again.
My ranking of the songs: 13. La Fetach Chatat Rovetz 12. Indigo (my favorite EPICA prologue) 11. Beyond Belief 10. Death of a Dream 9. Menace of Vanity 8. Living a Lie 7. Safeguard to Paradise 6. Never Enough 5. Sancta Terra 4. Chasing the Dragon 3. Fools of Damnation 2. The Obsessive Devotion 1. The Divine Conspiracy
In my opinion, this was the album that ended an era for Epica. It’s a beautiful album, but once Design Your Universe came along, you can hear that Epica found their true voice ♥️
I'd really like to know when are going to have an official track release of Higher High with the album in music apps and here in TH-cam 🥲🥲 c'mon is one of Epica's most beautiful songs...
@@jackbrown4697 If by "classic Epica lineup" you mean the original lineup, this album did not have the classic lineup since Arien recorded the drums for it.
Using Muslim Call of Prayers in Fools of Damnation was wrong choice and offensive. It is good thing they grown out of that habit, I see how Mark loved using Arabic words in Epica songs but he must use them in their context.
It was a great choice exactly because it's offensive to religious nutjobs and fits the context of the song and the album perfectly. A malevolent godlike being or a religious leader calling their fools to dance to their twisted tune. I remember when the song was uploaded on early TH-cam and the comment section was filled with death threats. They had some balls and I wish they've kept them.
@@dingodango7331 Nope! such acts radicalise people doesn't free them from radicalism or enlighten them. it goes the other way around it even make moderate would feel attacked which benefits radicles. the call of prayer is in Arabic it has no context no translation, it would subconsciously be understood by none adherent to that religion as negative and evil which create some sort of radicalization of none Muslims against Muslims it also harm Epica image as an international band as intolerant and picking on certain group. show me a song by epica talk about Jewish fanaticism or Zionism by using ancient Hebrew... they wouldn't dare. Epica attack just one religion that Islam in many of their songs or Catholicism in few songs like cry for the moon and living a lie... like in façade of reality there is no need to use tony Blair speech which not only destroyed the song it has automatically made you pro tony Blair without knowing . tony blair responsible for many war crimes. I love their older stuff actually but I also like things to be in their right place. there was no need for call of prayer to be there it actually hide beauty of the instruments. also the vers fool dance with again doesn't fit the melody with the chores it is not that perfect as song

Should've been the album's singles! At least with a shorter version like Never Enough.

This was the first album I got 😍 I couldn‘t afford it before. And this one was a present by my sister. Sooooo many good memories attached to it ♥️
Indigo is the 2nd best album opener behind Originem, imo, never gets old as a great buildup
Definitely one of the best symphonic metal albums of all time! Majestic masterpiece! I love this dark heavy Epica.
I love Epica, long live to Epica, blessings
Please play Death of a Dream and Fools of Damnation for the Symphonic Synergy concerts / releases
