    Im a srilankan and you made it exactly the way I and my Mom makes it everyday. We called it "Kiri theh" or in English, it's "Milk tea". Kiri means milk. We also called tea as "teh". I always tarik my teh to get that rich yummy foam and my mom also taught me to never make teh without the tarik! ;-) You have made it perfectly! Great Job!

      Yesssss! We srilankans can't go without a cup of hot milk tea in the morning! but i havent tried doing it with condensed milk. i just add a dash of hot fresh milk.

    I used to work in a restaurant and the trick is they put a tbsp of Nescafe into the cloth tea strainer thing. for individual cups maybe a small pinch is enough. it's an odd trick but it works!

    What kind of alternative types of tea would be best to make it? Ie. Not boh or Lipton. Any UK brands you can recommend?

    I have a tip, put some EVAPORATED milk along with condensed milk but just a tiny bit, like 2 Table spoons it tastes really nice.

    Do I have to consider anything if I want to make Teh Ais? Or do I simply pour the tea into a glass filled with ice cubes?

    • @anasmustafa288
      @anasmustafa288 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, simply adding ice cubes will work just fine.

    Hi Grace, one quick question. What brand of black tea did you used usually? I've been trying multiple brand bought from German supermarket but non of it taste like the normal teh tarik. Most of it does not taste strong like teh tarik in Malaysia.

      As written in the description box, try to look for lipton or boh. They would work the best! The rest.....you can forget about them. Hahaha :P

    • @nyonyacooking
      @nyonyacooking  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get what you mean :) But it is not something you need to drink everyday. Even in Malaysia, I don't drink it often. By knowing a recipe, you now can make your own drinks or food (in this case teh tarik) and adjust the sweetness accordingly. Try it out and share with us your best propotion of tea/condensed milk! ;)
