After 10 Years This is How I Make Milk Tea

  • I've been making milk tea for way too long and tried many different methods, each for a long period of time. I always try to improve things and to make the milk tea drinking experience better. I have arrived at what I think is the current best method. It's not just make the tea and add cream and sugar, there are a lot of little considerations to bring your enjoyment to the next level.

    I think so many people here are confused about the milk tea. Milk tea in UK is black tea + cream. The ones in Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia are black tea+condensed milk. The one in Hong Kong is black tea+evaporated milk. The taste are different too.

    • @z_yt_96
      @z_yt_96 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @z_yt_96 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We do have condensed milk. It's not used for a milk tea. You need fresh milk, not milk derivatives or manipulations. Calling condensed milk 'milk' is the equivalent of calling cheese 'milk', or the equivalent of making a tomato pasta sauce out of just tomato ketchup. If you put condensed milk in tea, you've not made 'milk' tea.

    I think the thing worth talking about in this video for me is how down to earth. You are using pretty basic/easy to get things as well as explaining like a normal guy. It's refreshing to watch something on youtube, like the old days, that is easy to be replicated.

I didn’t use the same condensed milk because I couldn’t find it at my local supermarket, the one I have includes milk, sugar and a type of condenser, so I guess that changes the final taste as well. I need to say that this recipe is really nice for a break time relax. Thanks for the content!

      FYI, I tried the yellow label a few times and which country it comes from matters a lot. Look for the Orange Pekoe yellow label next time around.

    I don't know if you'll have time to read this, but this is a great video cause it shows how one serving can be made. I have been brewing milk with many tea bags in a large pot before to try to make milk tea, this one looks great and I will try it.
